Without a doubt this is one of my most favorite children's books. I have been at a confrence where Mem read this story to us and talked about its background. She was very inspiring reading it. My most fave line in the whole book was "Koala Lou I do love you, I always have and I always will"

The moral of this story is that you don't have to win a gold medal for your mother to love you. Good for a story time because the kids can repeat the refrain and it'll remind parents to tell their kids they love them.

Thanks for the recommendation, Kelly! I bought this the other night and read it to my kids. It is so sweet. It will be a fave in our house for a long time, I'm sure!

Two of the best gifts our parents can give us are letting us make our way in the world and being there to applaud us in our efforts.

Good premise but gets annoying after awhile.
