I honestly don't really know how to rate or review this book. There were parts of it I loved, and parts where I just wanted to throw the book across the room. I think I'll have to try something new, and do a review in bullet form.

Things I Liked
* The childhood friendship between Jade and Tanner. Very sweet.
* Jade's reaction to meeting God. Brought tears to my eyes.
* Jade and Tanner's friendship 'that summer'.
* Jade and Ty's relationship
* The 'conversations' with God. I always wish I could hear Hi

Yes, this was a powerful book of true-life issues and poignant redemption. I feel like those are the type of books Karen Kingsbury thrives on writing. A Moment of Weakness truly touched me, it was interesting, thought-provoking, hardly left me bored for a second.

But... I must say, their "moment of weakness" was quite dramatized and overly sensualized. I was just kind of cringing as I read it.

However, when it ended, it pretty much ended. The rest of the book I read through no problem. It was in

A Moment of weakness taught me so much. Jade and Tanner go through hard time after hard time. Growing up as best friends was great while it lasted, but one day Jades father runs away with Jade to get away from the town that sees them as sinners. Years later, Jade is trying to get her hospital the rights it deserves. As she is in court she runs into the long lost Tanner. Tanner and Jade have a wonderful summer together and one night things go a little too far. When Tanner leaves, Jade realizes th ...more

Fabulously written story about the slippery slope of failing to hear God's voice. Why is it, even when we are trying to be good, we can quickly end up on a path of sin? Fortunately we have a God that always prevails in the end and makes good out of our worst mistakes. It is sad when we screw up his better plan for our lives. This story was set in the little NW town of Kelso, of which I am familiar and also the Portland area which was fun to visualize.

This is the second book in the Forever Faithful trilogy. It was very good, but again I found myself getting way too upset over the behavior of some characters, i.e. Doris, Tanner's mother. But God changed her heart in a way only He can! Excellent read. Can't wait to start the last book and finish the trilogy. I know there will be plenty more tears shed.

This book was a really easy read - I read it in 2 days. I enjoyed it. It was very spiritual and I did not know it would be when I picked it out. Lots of references to the bible and Jesus, so if that would bother you don't read it. The story was good though and the ending was really good.

This book made me mad at what Tanner's mom did but the ending was a good ending.

Great series

As always Karen did not disappoint. Enjoy all her series. She keeps you wanting to read more. Can't put her books down until the last word has been read.

I'm quite sure my opinion may not be popular, and obviously doesn't represent the masses of readers who love Karen Kingsbury books, but I just don't, so honest I will be. I have read many Karen Kingsbury books over the years, but had really decided they just aren't for me. The only reason I decided to review this one is that I thought it was a brand new book, and that perhaps I should give the author another chance. As it turns out, this is just a re-release of a book that she wrote years ago an ...more

I can't say enough about any book written by Karen Kingsbury. If you have never read one, please pick one up. They are more than simply a story that grabs you in someway by the heart, but they are ones that last well beyond the final page you read. They are that life changing. They get you to not only connect with the characters on an emotional level but there is a depth there that simply goes beyond being a story in a book. It almost feels as if these were personal stories that Karen is sharing ...more

Jade and Tanner were friends as children, they swore they would always find each other when Jade was torn away when her Father left town and of course she had to go also. One summer they do get back together, but he goes away on a mission, it's only three weeks that he is gone but Jade panics when she realizes almost immediately that she is pregnant. She goes to ask his Mother if there is an emergency number that she can call to get in touch with him. His Mother tells her lies in order to make s ...more

This book was a very emotional read for me. There were times when I got mad! Times when I wanted got excited. Times when I wanted to laugh and times when I cried. Karen has such a talent for really drawing the reader into the story and the character's lives.

The story begins with a backdrop. Jade is a young girl and Tanner is just a boy. They live next door and are besties. But then tragedy hits and Jade's family moves away. Tanner wonders about her for years, but never hears from her again.

Jade Conner and Tanner Eastman grew up together and became best friends. They were always together and had the best time. Tanner told Jade that one day he would grow up and marry her. How many of us have made that promise as kids ? It is a sweet memory that sometimes can become real. Everything is going well until one day Jade and her family move. They have hopes of finding her mom that left them. It was hard to leave her best friend, but she hoped one day to return and rekindle their friendship ...more

A Moment of Weakness by Karen Kingsbury is a very good novel. It is book two in the Forever Faithful series. Karen really keeps you attention with her books.
Jade and Tanner grew up together and became fast friends. Tanner was always saying I will marry her one day. Family problems and Jade moved away and Tanner never knew what happened. His mother knew but she hated the Conner family.
So they grew up and just happened to find each other again. They had a wonderful summer together and then they

Recommends it for: Adults who like religious romance
Jade and Tanner as earnest, yet flawed, Christians whose one night of passion leads them down rocky roads that change the course of their lives. Growing up on the "wrong side of the tracks," Jade had a loose mother and drunken father and no spiritual upbringing whatsoever. After her mother leaves them, Jade spends the rest of her sad childhood taking care of her alcolholic father and trying desperately to rise above her circumstances. In the meantime, her childhood playmate, Tanner Eastman, with ...more

“A Moment of Weakness” by Karen Kingsbury is book number two in the Forever Faithful series. This novel is one of love, loss, betrayal, and perseverance in the face of extreme drama. Childhood friends are split apart when one family moves on, much to the delight of one parent. Tanner’s mother doesn’t think that Jade is good enough for her son, for whom she has such high aspirations. A few years later the two meet again, continue their relationship with disastrous consequences. Interference from ...more

Jade and Tanner could love be any sweeter "that" summer? And yet misunderstanding and misinformation leads to heartache. Jade finds herself wed to another, a man less than ideal. And yet......all hope is not lost when divorce and a nasty child custody case bring Jade and Tanner together again.

I appreciate that Kingsbury addresses real life, less than perfect issues. Even the "best" Christian makes bad choices in their life. It is how you respond to those choices that matter. I especially loved t

Karen Kingsbury writes another thought provoking story. Ms. Kingsbury shows that Jade and Tanner are "flawed" Christians...people who love God but make a "mistake."
Jade and Tanner have been best friends since childhood and then that one fateful night in an act of passion (they are committed to each other) but they made "that" one mistake of coming to together in intimacy before marriage...A Moment of Weakness!
Jade and Tanner live in different parts of the country. But Jade's husband is unfaithf

A Moment of Weakness by Karen Kingsbury was a book that at first I didn’t like but by the end I loved the book and the characters. This is the second book I have read by this author and I have fallen even more in love with this author than I was before. I wasn’t a huge fan of Jade and Tanner’s parents throughout the entire book. I know it is because of how they acted towards each other and if I am being honest small town crap just bugs me. I really did like Jade and Tanner though so that made re ...more

This is the second book from the Faithful Trilogy and like Waiting for Morning novel I really like the story line. I begun wondering if the whole custody battle over a religious parents can really happen or if a real situation did happen in that sense. And if religious really that bad in the States. I have watched shows and movies where the man take his family to court over a kid or something he want just because the marriage is ending and that makes me just mad and madder!

Very few times have I ever gotten real angry with some of the characters of a book, as I did in A Moment of Weakness. While I didn't read the first book in this series, I didn't feel as though I missed anything. Almost from the beginning, I could tell that childhood friends Jade Conner and Tanner Eastman were meant for each other. They reunited again as adults. They spend one wonderful summer together. But then they have a "moment of weakness" and somehow things change between them. It's not unt ...more

Well, I got about halfway through the book, and felt like the author was preaching at me. And I almost put it down. But I stuck it out, and it was 'eh'. I will probably never think of it again, but since I just finished it, I wanted to say a couple of things. I did enjoy the hero (mostly). The heroine was good for about the first half of the book, but then she was faced with a situation where she had a clear and easy out, and decided not to take it for some unknown, arbitrary reason. That kind o ...more

Karen Kingsbury is a master storyteller. I've read several of her books and I'm continually impressed by her ability to weave complex storyworlds, characters, plots, and conflicts. This book is no exception.

The reason I gave it a three was due to the court case that the end of the book revolves around. SPOILER ALERT! In the story, Jade loses custody of her son because of her Christian values. Tanner is her lawyer and fights for Jade's rights, ultimately winning. While I respect Karen Kingsbury
