This was a fun book to read. It is a compilation of biographical Naval war stories (mostly World War II) by modern America writers such as James Michener, Herman Wouk, Alex Haley, Ben Bradlee and a host of others. Most of the stories are about 8 pages long, and they the book is nice because you can read a story, put the book down for a few days, and pick up on a new story without loss of continuity.

I am amazed at the quality of the choices put forth in the book. Robert Shenk did a fine job of ed
