This review is going to be the overall review of the series rather than the first book because I don't wanna keep reviewing each volume as it goes. I have watched the anime version of Memaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch around 4-5 years ago. And being that young, I didn't really care about plots, charatcers and all those things. This book was to read for passing time and the storyline was very fun to read. This manga was primarily about how Lucia begins to develop feelings for a boy named Kaito. She realizes that he was the boy that she saved when they were eight years old: she saved him from a ship wreak, where both his adopted parents had died. Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch is your standard shoujo manga. The art is pretty, fun, and clean. It reminds me of a mix between Ultramaniac and Full Moon. The story and setup are similar to Tokyo Mew Mew, with the exception of the heroins being singing transforming mermaids. Volume one introduces the protagonist, love interest, several baddies and several other mermaids. it's really a classic story, very well written, very upbeat and easy to follow. i highly recommend it for anyone for has a soft spot for love stories as well as a liking for mermaids.

I've been told that the series picks up after volume 1. I suppose I'll have to read it to be fair to the series. But in volume 1: Mermaid Melody, I found the plot too sporadic and the dialogue often confusing.
The characters are supposed to be teens, yet they behave like elementary school girls.
I like the storyline that is a spin off of The Little Mermaid. I'm just not keen on the delivery.

Boring. Dumb mermaids who fall in love at first sight. Uh-huh. Annoying too. Oh, and somehow powerful. Not to mention a love nemesis. Did I forget the guy? Sure, kinda handsome and BLUR. Need I say more?
Wow, even better than the anime, but it's nice that there is an anime, so we can hear the awesome voices and such. :) I like seeing it animated, too, even though I could picture it with my mind.

I've read the whole series and I absolutely love it. Currently watching the anime version of this book and that's good too. I highly recommend it.
Yeah I had no idea what was happening the whole time I was reading this book. All I could pick up was the love interests...of course -_-
This looks like a great series with a unique plot and lots of interesting characters.

Luchia Nanami, a pink pearl mermaid princess, had fallen in love to a human boy named Kaito, which she saved when she is still young. She even lend her very important pearl to him. But, when she need to protect the sea from the dark Pantarassa with her other 6 companion, she's got to search for her pearl. After she found her pearl and met Kaito for the 2nd time, Luchia's journey to protect the sea is started!
I recommend this to anyone who has read chibi vampire and loved it :) this is a very cute manga

When I found this series I was caught instantly, the graphics are amazing, and so is the story line!
I would just like to say that this is the awesomest manga ever! (not really, but who cares? ^_^)
