Strange and Beautiful by JoAnne Kenrick is yet another book in the Edge Series , which is quickly becoming a favorite series of mine when in the mood for a really quick, highly erotic read is what I’m craving.
In this story, the reader is introduced to Estella, a vampire queen with a nasty attitude and an even nastier kick, and her lesbian lover and sometimes-faithful subject Lucy, a zombie with a wicked sense of humor. After the reader is introduced to this unlikely pair, they are given a look...more

Strange and Beautiful is the first book in a new series from JoAnne Kenrick - Tales from the Coffin. This short story introducesEstella, Vampire Queen of the Rejected, and hersometimes-faithful subject and loverLucy Rotterdayne - a zombie better known as Lucy Rot. The two of them have loved men in the past, but are now together and shunning men. A coincidence? I think not.

Now, I have to say that this story was a total shocker for me. I grabbed it, because I have been the resident The Edge Series reviewer for Hotly Ever After it would seem. So, I had to grab it. There were a few that I didn’t like. I was so worried this would be another. I wasn’t sure about it.
If I am being honest, I didn’t get it at first. I had no clue that Estella was narrating to me the reader. I was like—erm, what is going on here. I just was so lost and didn’t really know what the deal was....more

A very quick short read from Joanne Kenrick, Ive loved all her other books but this one was just not for me. Tales of the Coffin is yes, erotic but in a strange and un beautiful way.
The zombie lesbian part was just not for me, I didnt enjoy the characters or limited storyline and several other factors relating within the story.
I will however continue to read more Of this authors works. But not this new series. Everyone has an opinion, if your after some strange, dry humour, with a different st...more
