Food Family Style is primarily a cookbook written for MOPS, which turns out to be Moms of Preschoolers. It's been years since I was a MOP; now I'm a GOB (Grandmother of Baby). But GOBs have to eat, too, so I happily agreed to review this cookbook. I assumed that any cookbook written for mothers (I cannot continue to say MOPs) would contain easy recipes with normal ingredients and I was not disappointed. Just because we're slightly middle-aged doesn't mean that we've developed into the Galloping ...more

While this cookbook is not filled with full-color or any finish meal items photographs, it is not that kind of cookbook. This is a friend and a helping hand in the form of someone who understands where I am and where I’m coming from and it’s amazing. As a mother to a budding preschooler and baby this is just what I need on my cooking shelf. While other family-cookbooks are about cooking for many and making conversation and self-serve friendly meals this is what’s right for me right now. ...more

Simple and Tasty Recipes for Everyday Life

Spending time with family is important and what better way to spend this time than in preparing and sharing a meal together. Food Family Style has a wide ranging assortment of recipes. Breakfast to dinner. Dessert to a new favorite drink.

Spending time with your children provides a stability that endures throughout their lifetime. Mealtime is the perfect forum to discus and listen. As an extension preparing meals to

I love family friendly cookbooks and this one doesn't disappoint.

The book is organized by category with an index organized by ingredient. The recipes are easy to follow and family/child friendly with serving sizes listed. Most use every day ingredients that you have on hand. There are helpful hints and tips in the margins as well as a chapter on kitchen and pantry essentials and healthy substitutions.

My biggest complaint about any cookbook is when there are no photos. Having an idea of what the

I have really enjoyed devouring this great cook book. Although the book is written for MOPS [Mother's of Preschoolers]...I do not qualify for that category...although we do have in our home, a five year old starting school this year, but he is my Grandson!
When I was getting married my Hubby was really worried...I did not know how to cook. My Mom never wanted us to mess up the kitchen. He did say during our marriage that he never had a bad meal, and he always told me that everything I made was gr

FOOD FAMILY STYLE is a beautiful cookbook, full of simple, tasty recipes for every day life. I love the beautiful picture on the cover, and some of the recipes made me hungry. We tried the recipe for Slow Cooker Jambalaya last night for supper and it was absolutely wonderful. It had a little bit of a kick for those of us who like things mild, and more can be added for those w

What bothers me about most cookbooks is that the recipes are just too fancy for a family like mine or they take a lot of preparation and expensive ingredients to make. We are really just simple people who like simple food without a lot of fuss, and usually, cookbooks are not geared towards those types of families.

In Food Family Style, I knew right away that I would be able to find some 'keeper' recipes. The recipes are simple but still filling and good enough to serve for guests. I really liked
