My 6 year old first grader is a beginner reader and loves this adorable book about a little boy who has a pet dragon and dreams that his is a knight who finds a dragon that hatches from an egg. 74 words that are easy to read. All the major sight words are used and the hardest ones in this book are "guess" and "dream" and "something". Short and sweet, perfect for building the confidence of the beginning and/or reluctant reader.
