First of all I read the book after the movie, The movie was fantastic but, The book To Hell And Back is even better because Niki Lauda is the actual one who wrote the story and he is the one who was in the car when the car caught flame. The book gives you detail by detail of how he come back from an awful injury like that. Also I believe that this book has inspired some of the drivers because the book gave me thoughts of things. The way he mentioned the vacuums and how much it hurt, The book is ...more
Not the greatest writing, but I think this is mainly because it was translated. Chronologically it's a bit choppy. I was reading it for more insight into Niki Lauda himself and his personality (which was displayed pretty fantastically in the book), but I would get lost in the details of the cars and the driving because I have no interest in racing. I think for fans of racing and the drivers, this book would feel more over all satisfying than in did for me.
Also, this needs a reprint because it's

This was a very good book. This book really keeps you turning the pages. It was wrote by Nikki Lauda which is crazy because he tells it threw his idea's. It shows how he started out and how hard it was to start. He also talks about his financial problems and how it was very hard to get out of that hole. When he describes the pain it is crazy how he survived this acedent. All in all this book is great and I would highly recommend it.
Written in 1985, and just a bit too outdated. I bet a book written about Niki by someone else would be more interesting.
