This is a children's book, but has more information about this amazing artist and how he got started, including WPA art teachers at the Settlement House in Harlem.
Some of his paintings are reproduced, besides the Migration series I saw in an enlarged art book.
Also is mentioned his John Brown series, which I'm interested in checking out.

Detailed and interesting biography for young readers on Jason Lawrence, an artist who told stories with his numerous art collections. This book has half its pages filled with large full color paintings or photographs, with descriptive text on the adjacent page.
