As soon as the reader opens this book, he or she is pummelled into the freezing ice. I couldn't finish this book. You think you know ice? You don't know ice. You'll learn more than you probably ever wanted to know about ice if you read this book. I advise you to have a good science dictionary handy while you're reading it. "Fire on the Rim" was very readable. This book isn't.
