In response to a request for romance novel recommendations the other day, I found myself recommending this book as an old favorite, then immediately was seized by panic: I'd last read the book six years or more ago--was it really as entertaining and worthwhile (well, for a romance novel) a read as I remembered? 1762 England. Book 3 of the Mallorens. Lady Elfled Malloren wants some adventure, and has the hots for Fortitude (Ford) Ware, the new Earl of Walgrave (and Chastity’s older brother). Third in the Malloren series. I found this one oddly paced, with peril, sex, then more peril and sex, then almost nothing going on for a huge long stretch, ending with no peril, no particularly good explanations, and not really any sex either.
