I was a little worried because the second one is the immortals series was the one that ruined it for me.

This is by far the best out of the two I read.

And, I have to say that ending was INTENSE!!!!

So we begin the story all happy, Daire and Dace are together and lad di da. But then, Cade has to ruin it. Like he ruins everything.

Every time that Daire and Dace are together, Cade gets stronger. Which means that they have to spend time apart.

That is so sad. They are two halves of a whole and yet, the

I can't tell you why but I hated this book. I don't think I read even half of it. I tried. I tried so very hard. I think I read every word of the first two or so chapters before I started only reading dialogue till around page 140. After that I gave up and started skipping whole pages then whole chapters.
I've never done this before. I've never disrespected a book or author like that before and I'm ashamed that I couldn't give this book the respect it deserves. I know how hard it is to write a bo

What to say?

I just don't know.

Part of me really enjoys this series, loves reading it and learning tidbits of information.

But the other part of me just can't be bothered.

A lot of this book felt rushed. It was like "OK, Daire needs training, but that's boring to read, let's hit fast-forward" and all of a sudden Daire knows EVERYTHING. Almost. Ish.
One line, seven words, twenty seven letters…….
What the hell happened in the end? I mean seriously. I gave Echo just for the mind blowing end and that killing cliffhanger.

I haven’t read Alyson Noel’s Immortal series or other contemporary romance but I can say that she knows how to tell a story with descriptive detailing. Fated had intriguing premises but when somewhere I felt it was dragged up. However in case of Echo, I didn't feel that way, rather I enjoyed the story more than Fated.

This is the second book in The Soul Seekers series. In this book I think we delve more into the characters themselves, into their growth and the personal obstacles they are trying to overcome. Also, into the relationship between Daire and Dace. The book is told in dual POV's which I really enjoyed. We switch back and forth between Daire and Dace which I think adds so much to how well we are able to connect with them.

Daire has grown so much towards the soul seeker she is prophesied to become. I s

OMG, omg, omg!! This book sooo many turns that I was not prepared for. Book three I need you now.

This book was sooo much better than book one. In Echo (since we have the back story from fated), I feel like we were really able to get a start on the Soul Seeker story in here. We get to see our two main characters Dace and Daire, and I do like how we switch back and forth between POV in this book. I think it helped the story too, giving it a little something more to go on! I have to also say this

I really loved the first book in this series, Fated, because it was something so different to Alyson Noel’s other books. I really enjoyed the plot and setting and couldn’t wait to get on to book two.

In Echo, Daire is learning how to become a Soul Seeker. Although she has already had some training, she doesn’t know everything… not by a long shot. Unlike in Fated, Echo doesn’t have to spend numerous chapters letting the reader know backgrounds and information about what is going on. I felt like F

Now, diving deeper into her destiny, I found this book quite intriguing. While the first book is filled with lots of information, in this story, we get more answers.

What I loved most about this story is the great back round history. The reader is informed more of Daire and what she is meant to do. Each chapter reveals more of what she is too become as well as the twins, Dace and Cade. The battle between them is raging and I KNOW it's only a matter of time. The author did a great job in giving th
I enjoyed Echo a bit more than I did Fated. I thought this story had better character developement and the story was more interesting. The only real complaints I have is the romance. I couldn't help finding myself role my eyes on numerous occasions. It's just, personally, not for me. I think that is what bugs me in most YA books. The cheesy, mushy, unrealistic boyfriends. I know they are written like this for a reason, but it would still be nice, to try at least, to make them human in a sense. ...more
Okay. Phoo. Let's talk about Echo.
More like let's talk about what was the most awesome YA PNR I've read in quite some time.
Especially coming from Alyson Noel.
There was so much going on in this book and it all cumulated into something fantastic. Noel laid the law down with Daire and Dace coming into their respective power, with side characters adding to the forward movem

Oh god...KILL ME!
This book was a pain to read! It was horribly paced, the main character and the boy whom she had sex with, then just ignored for the majority of the book, for really no reason, if you think about it (the antagonist was going to do horrible things with or without them together), and to have them just mostly complain throughout the whole book and not take action throughout almost the whole thing was absolutely dreadful! I couldn't even finish the book! And I'm

Echo is a great read. The plot is engaging, the characters are developing and the setting is pretty unique. This book doesn’t make it into my all time favourites, but any previous Alyson Noel fans who have read her style before But, in this book, I loved the development of many characters: not just Daire and Dace, but also their parents and friends. Two characters that I thought could have received a little more development were the newly introduced Phyre, and the resident bad guy, Cade. We saw ...more
Echo is the second book in the Soul Seekers series that will leave readers prepared for the next book. If you are a fan of forbidden romance and dark magic then definitely check this series out.

Echo is centred around Dace and Daire's doomed relationship and how they must find a way to stop Dace's twin brother, Cade, from taking over not only their small town in New Mexico, but the entire world. At the beginning of the book, everything is find and Daire is enjoying her time with her gorgeous boyf

ECHO picked up where Fated ends. But unlike Fated, the second book doesn't dwell more on backstories and information, Echo jumps right into the plot.

But I really believe what makes ECHO so gripping is the main characters' relationship; their love has become stronger as well as the complications and danger that comes with Daire as a Soul Seeker and Dace as the Echo. It's so heartbreaking to see them perfect for each other but they cannot be together for the greater good.

"Fated" by Alyson Noel began the series with the story of Daire Santos, thought to be psychotic because she sees things. Finding someone understanding in her grandmother, she learns that she is a Seeker, someone with special powers to see different worlds.

In "Echo," the second novel in the series, Daire and Dace, her boyfriend, must fight an evil family that is determined to destroy the world. Specifically, they must fight Dace's evil twin, Cade, whose powers get stronger and stronger.

A prophecy must be fulfilled, and although open to interpretation, someone must die. Daire is convinced that her generation of Seekers is about to face things far worse than any Seeker before her as the strength and cunning of the Richters and their demon minions grows and evolves. Cade’s evil grows, his madness is dark and menacing as he uses the love Daire and Dace share as a weapon against them. Alternating chapter POVs between Daire and Dace, the story becomes more intense, the full horror d ...more

Echo is the sequel to Fated in the Soul Seekers series and reintroduces readers to Daire, Dace, Xotichl, Cade, Lita, and Paloma to name the main cast. I'm not really sure what I think about this particular ending other than I was ready to scream my bloody head off. I mean, if you weren't awake while reading the first and middle parts of this book, you were by the time the ending came around. I'm sure I am not the only one who thought WTH, is this the en

Oh my God. Oh my God. That was literally the only thing running through my head when I finished the book. If you thought that this book was going to answer all of the questions Fated left, you were wrong. It answers a lot of those questions, but leaves countless others in its wake.
Daire is still stubborn and thick-headed, but everything she does is with good intentions. Dace does everything with good intentions too, but most of the times I wanted to beat his head and tell him that he was wrong!

Daire has let the Richter family into the Lowerworld in order to save her grandmother's life. They are corrupting it, the animals have gone into hiding and those that haven't can no longer be trusted. Daire and her boyfriend Dace are charged with finding the Richter undead and putting an end to them. But Cade, Dace's evil twin brother (eye roll) keeps stopping them. Cade seems to feed off the love that Daire and Dace share and the best thing would be for them to break up. Which they do, repeated ...more

Reading this book was so amazing, although it was dragging at the first part at some point but it was really interesting when you get to the pages of more than a hundred, its like you couldn't stop not knowing what would happen and what the characters would actually do. Would they do something stupid, unexpected.

Dairy and Dace have finally gotten together, but now they have to face Dace's other half, Cade. The evil one in the family. In this story of Daire and Dace find out the true

The Soul Seekers: Echo (No Spoilers)

I was introduced to the author and her first book in the series; Fated via Amazon and having really enjoyed the first book (once I got into it as it has a lot of 'scene setting' to be done) I had decided to keep an eye out for the second and only just realised a few weeks ago that it had been released, so a bit annoyed I hadn't known earlier but on the plus side everything will be fresh in my mind for the third book Mystic when it is released next month.

I was given this book a couple of years ago through a giveaway, before I had read Fated, the first novel in the series. Although I didn't care for the first book (pretty much forced to read it as it was the common reading for one of the residencies for my MFA), I decided to give this book a try since I already owned it.

This may be subjective, of course, but I feel this book is overwritten at times, with a plot that never fulfills its potential. And I can only read the word "gaze" so many times b

One star for effort. Two for being good enough for me to finish it at the end. A half for the character development. Another half for the plot twist. But you lost one star because there's so many questions left unanswered that it left me frustrated. I don't understand what is actually going on beneath the surface. Another star because I just don't feel attached to this book and the characters.
