I love friends-to-lovers stories. I think tattoos are hot on the right guy. And I'm a sucker for stories with kids in them. This had all three. The characters were likable. The story was written well. The author threw in an epilogue so there were no unanswered questions. I hate when books (or short stories) end right when I feel that they are getting started. Thankfully this one was not the case. Everything was wrapped up nicely.

A very enjoyable read.

Great picture, love the tatts. I liked this story a lot, and got a good feel for both of the characters. I did feel like when Sean finally told Jase how he felt, it was a little sudden (despite him having known for a while). It didn't really flow right for me, but as the story continued Ms. Wilder really flushed everything out and even gave us some nice closure with an epilogue.

The story is very sweet. I have to admit that I hated Lisa (the mother) right away; she was a total witch with a "b". Never having wanted her child, I don't understand the attitude, but she wouldn't be the first person that felt that way; It was the way she went about telling Sean- she called him while she was away in New York, supposedly trying to get auditions for the theater, and on top of that she was drunk! Such a cowardly thing! But, I'm betting I was supposed to hate her from the get-go....more

I thought this was a sweet story about two former good friends who discover their love for one another. The thing that I didn't enjoy was the flip flopping of a particular character's name. In one sentence he would be referred to as Sean and then in the next as Tag (the character's full name is Sean Taggert, so Tag is his nickname). I would have preferred if one name had been used throughout because going back and forth was confusing.

4.5 stars - What a fabulous free read! I'm a sucker for cute stories and this was just the thing I needed to put a smile on my face. The picture for this story was really cute and the prompt was interesting; Penny did a really great job in writing the perfect love story to match. Jase and Sean were such a cute couple, I would happily have read a full length novel about them!

Okay short. I never really got into it and the characters were really bland for me.

Seemed like it was way too easy for him to just cut Jase completely off. And then jase was way too quick to just forget everything. The whole thing just didn't work for me

This was a really sweet friends-to-lovers story. It fit perfectly with the prompt; I just wish it could have been a lot longer.Plus, men with tattoos get to me every time!...more

I love what Penny did with my prompt!
Couples with kids plus tattoos, you can´t ask for anything better, and Penny capture the idea in a sweet, sexy short story.

It's a nice story that would have been better with shorter epilogue. That chapter is like an outline of a story by itself. All telling without showing.

Blah. And all that Sean/Tag switch name was annoying.

Sweet, free short, nothing new or groundbreaking and considering the issues they were dealing with it was a very idealistic ending.
Victoria
Sweet story. Love the interpretation of the photo. Thank you Penny Wilder, for donating your story, time and talent.

A pretty basic story. Sweet but nothing remarkable to make it stand out. More a 2.5
