A wild and funny celebration of individuality!

Eleven-year-old Simon is mortified to discover that his eccentric Aunt Mattie -- with her mismatched shoes, huge flowered hat, and incorrigibly rude parrot, Runcible (whose favorite phrase is "Shut up, please!) -- is the new substitute teacher for his fifth-grade class. Before long Aunt Mattie turns the whole school on its ear...more

This was a great book. It was about a fifth grade class that had a substitute teacher named Mrs. Maxwell. She had a great-nephew in the class named Simon, but Simon was very embarrassed about his great-aunt being the substitute. He thought she was really wacky and always wore clothes that never matched. She also had a pet parrot that she would bring into the classroom. The best part of the book was when their class wanted to win the science fair by making a machine called "The Mighty Muculent-Eg...more

I gave this book 3 stars because it wasn’t my favorite book. No M ore Nasty was not my favorite because it complained all of the time. It was a very predictable book. The only subject this book talked about was the fact that Simon struggled to keep the secret about his teacher, Mrs. Maxwell being his aunt. I didn’t like this book because the vice principal was always trying to get rid of Mrs. Maxwell. It was not a good tough in the book to say that the vice principal didn’t like Mrs. Maxwell bec...more

No More Nasty is a pretty good book! It was an ordinary day and Mrs. Biggs wasn't at school. Simon looked at the clock it was 9:05. Nobody knew that Mrs. Biggs was ever late for class or anything. She was always at school on time. Mindy, Mandy, and Mollie had formed a circle with their desks. Mollie was listening to music on her headphones, and Mindy and Mandy were writing a story called "The Three Little Pigs." well I hope that you read this book! So far I give it a 3 star.

This book was okay but in the book, they have a teacher that retires. When this happens Simon (the main character)is faced with his crazy Aunt Mattie as a substitute! It is kind of a little kids book but it has like 150 pages. Anyway this book is not one of my favorites!

Mom had sent this to me as I began Substitute teaching in Hawaii. It gave a different perspective regarding student and teacher. It had it's funny moments. Something to read to my child someday.
