Alex Rider is a 14 year-old spy. He worked with MI6 (British version of the CIA) 3 times before. He has seen and done many things he regrets, but in the end, he came out alive, and the villain didn't come out at all. Alex is daring, brave, and smart, and these attributes help him because if he wasn't smart he would be dead. If he wasn't brave he couldn't stand face-to-face with a contract killer. If he wasn't daring, he wouldn't be able to do things that most people don't have the guts to do. MI...more

Book Review: Eagle Strike Grant Fiero

Eagle Strike is a book in the Alex Rider series. This book just like the others in the series is action packed. Alex Rider who is the main character always has something exciting going on in his life. Because Alex’s life never has a dull moment the book is consistently entertaining.
Like I said in the previous paragraph Alex Rider is the main character. A few other main supporting characters are Jack who is Alex’s guardian, Sabina who is Alex’s friend, and...more

Teens these days are always complaining about the pressure of school, getting good grades, and relationships. They always think it is too much responsibility and stress, but try having the burden of saving the world on your shoulders. Unlike most teens that have to worry about sports and love, Alex Rider has to worry about stopping the world from being destroyed. This incredible story, which is fourth in a series of six, describes the amazing adventure of a normal teen boy, wh...more

Well, well, well. We have some plot progress, Horowitz. A video game. Interesting. (Speaking of that, I have to wonder how fast all this gets dated. At least people are still using flash drives, but honestly, Alex talks like they're some obscure piece of computer equipment. Well, let me tell you something, Rider, even I use a flash drive. ['Kay, fine. I can't say I'm totally technologically ignorant. And when compared to the general populace, I guess I am slightly above the average, but I don't...more

Alex Rider is in France with his friend Sabina Pleasure and her family when Sabina's dad is nearly killed by a bomb supposedly placed by Yassen Gregovich. Alex suspects Damian Cray hired Yassen because Sabina's dad was writing an article about Cray. He then runs to MI6 to get help and stop Damian Cray. When he arrives they refuse to help him and don't believe that Cray would do such a thing. Alex decides he must investigate on his own.

Eagle strike is another of Alex’s many adventures, it talks about how one of his friend’s dads gets blown up by an old nemesis: Yassen Gregorovich. He thinks it’s the famous and extremely charismatic Damian Cray. He tries to investigate by asking people about him, also asking help to M16, but either they don’t believe him or the person dies two days later.
After he goes to Cray’s speech’s for the “game slayer” that was proved to be better than the Ps2 (not better than the ps3 (obviously)), he a...more

The previous books in the series grabbed my attention more quickly than this one, and I began to fear that the Alex Rider series was losing steam. Probably part of the difficulty came from the fact that I cannot like Sabina. From the beginning, I expected that a girl would eventually appear in the series but disliked Sabina from the moment she was introduced (kind of) in the last book. She was more of an annoying afterthought there. All we really learned about her then is that she is very crass...more

Eagle Strike, by Anthony Horowitz, is the fourth book of one of my favorite series, the Alex Rider series. He is one of the youngest spies of the entire history of MI6, a British intelligence organization. But this time, he is alone without anyone helping him, not even MI6. It is all because Alex is trying to tell everyone that the person they think is a hero might be a madman instead.
I like it when Alex would go on this mission alone, even if MI6 didn't back him up because it shows how determ...more

The main character in this book is Alex Rider; he is a 14 year old boy who was pretty much forced into M16 (the British/English equivalent to the CIA) when his Uncle Ian Rider (who also works for M16) was killed in action. Jack Starbright is (a girl) Alex’s guardian, housekeeper, au pair, babysitter, or whatever you want to call it. She was technically the reason that Alex agreed (was blackmailed) to enter M16 because if he didn’t they wouldn’t give her a visa and she wouldn’t be able to stay i...more

Have you ever had somebody keep something hidden then answer it then make you have more questions? Well this guy likes to do that with his books. He will answer a question at the very end and then Make 12 more problems that seem unsolved able until the next book. I think this Author will be famous for this. So you have a lot of problems in this book that it seems like the character Alex had nothing t do about. But yet people just like trying to kill him every time something goes wrong. When he w...more

Another great book for this series. This book is about 14 years old spy named Alex Rider, who used to work for M16 (a secret government organization) who goes on vacation in France, but then gets caught up in an "accident" where he suspects Yassen (a famous assassin) trying to kill a journalist who is investigating a superstar Cray.
Later on in the book, Alex slowly finds out that Cray is not really a peaceful, loving, anti-violence type of guy. Alex finds out that Cray is doing this project (co...more

This Alex Rider book #4 returns to some semblance of reality, although once again Alex unspools a nuclear-bomb plot that almost results in international devastation. Determined to eliminate major drug producing areas of the world, a crazed international pop star almost succeeds. The interesting parts of this book are like the better parts of book #1 which focus on Alex, his family and his predicament working for M16 as a teenager. This book gives him a (beginning) girlfriend and brings him back...more

Alex Rider is a teenage, super secretive spy on the verge of saving the world - again. He is finally relaxing from another mission on a London beach with his friend Sabina when her vacation home explodes from a grenade being implanted inside. He did happen to notice one of his arch enemies lurking near, but didn't know what to do exactly since he was on a planned vacation. Sabina's father is injured and Alex springs into action, finding out that the psychotic, rich environment freak, Damian Cray...more

Eagle Strike, by Anthony Horowitz is about a fourteen-year-old spy named Alex Rider. Shortly after his birth, his parents were murdered. He then lived with his uncle until a Russian assassin named Yassen Gregorovich killed his uncle. He discovers that his uncle was a spy and decided to follow his footsteps. In his fourth mission, he is sent to investigate a person who wants to destroy all places where illegal drugs are grown with nuclear weapons. He claims that people that use drugs are not the...more

Eagle Strike at times reads like a laundry list of stereotypical things that teenage boys are into (innit): spies; chase scenes; video games; gun porn; hot girls who treat boys badly and then have a change of heart. The result, in terms of plotting, is a spiky pattern of DANGER-DANGER-breathe-DANGER-DANGER-breathe (etc.), rather than a smooth storytelling arc that builds to a satisfying conclusion.

That's not to say that some of the DANGER-DANGER episodes are not entertaining. In particular, Horo...more

I am reading the book Eagle Strike by Anthony Horowitz. I am about half way through the book and am not finished yet but from what I have read it is extremely good. This book relates to a James Bond type of book because Alex Rider is a spy and very good at being one. I think that someone that likes suspenseful action but is not completely realistic would really like this book. Also, it is in a series of eight books so if you like lots of books about a subject you will like the Alex Rider series...more

In Anthony Horowitz’s Eagle strike, Alex Rider is the same as always. He is one of MI6’s best and most valuable agents. Alex is the main character. The plot of the book is still the same as the other books in the series, an evil mastermind tries to take over the world but Alex somehow finds a way to stop them. In the book Alex is on vacation with his girlfriend Sabina Pleasure when he sees a dangerous contract killer Yassen Gregorivich who he has had to fight before. He finds out the Yassen was...more

Have you ever wanted to be a spy, a top secret agent, or James Bond? Most teenagers do, but for Alex Rider, it’s a lot more complicated than it sounds. I read Eagle Strike by Anthony Horowitz. This was the fourth book in a seven book series. Alex is an actual spy for the British Intelligence Agency, or MI6. The book starts off with Alex and his friend Sabina vacationing in southern France. Everything was going swimmingly until Alex sees his arch nemesis, Yassen Gregoravich, walk of a yacht near...more

Teens these days are always complaining about how much of a bummer it is to go to school. The grades, the social environment, the future, its all too much for a teen to think about at once. Well try saving the world a couple of times and finding yourself in several life or death situations.

Anthony Horowitz, a British author outdoes himself with another amazing sequel in the Alex Rider series. In 2003 Horowitz published another sequel to his best selling series, Eagle Strike.

The book was well written and fast paced again; I read it in two days. 3 stars because it is not the most amazing book in existence, but I enjoyed it. The ending was sort of a bummer for two reasons: (view spoiler)[ Cray was doing all this to "save the world"... really?? He killed people so they would stop testing on animals and hunting endangered whales. It was a little pathetic, and I'm sure the author could have come up with something a little better. Also, Sabina just left. Now I am up and d...more

This book was ok I think it should've had a little more action. I don't think Alex should've told Savings he was a spot because he should've known that Blunt wouldn't sure himself because our was suppose to be a secret. This book was about a 14 year old spy who works for M16 a secret spy company. Alex is on vaction with his girlfriemd Sabina when they find out that her dad was severely wounded in an attempt of to take his life. Alex then find out it was Damien Cray then he goes to spot on him. M...more

Do you like action packed books that are hard to put down? Then the book Eagle Strike is perfect for you. The main characters are Alex Rider, Sabina Pleasures, Yassen Gregorovich and Damian Cray. Alex is a spy for the M16 and is on his own mission to spy on Cray and Yassen. Alex Rider: Eagle Strike
By Anthony Horowitz

Eagle Strike is a very fast paced novel and a very interesting spy thriller. Eagle Strike is the 4th book in the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz.

The book is 322 pages long so you can finish it in no time if you love James Bond novels. The book is about a 14 year-old named Alex Rider and he is thrust into Britans' MI6 espionage service. Now for the 3rd time he has to save the world with his spy ways.

I thought the b...more

Anthony Horowitz is perhaps the busiest writer in England. He has been writing since the age of eight, and professionally since the age of twenty. In addition to the highly successful Alex Rider books, he is also the writer and creator of award winning detective series Foyle’s War, and more recently event drama Collision, among his other television works he has written episodes for Poirot, Murder...more
