A few days ago, I posted a review of Book 1 of Evan Angler's series, Swipe. In that review, I mentioned many reasons why I fell in love with this series, including a return to classic dystopian elements and high action and suspense. But I haven't discussed the biggest reason I respect Evan Angler's amazing series - the world.
Many dystopian tales deal with oppressive governments, the country in shambles, and the people living in squalid conditions. As entertaining it is to read about such circums...more

What it's about: Logan is back and he is still on the run from DOME. Peck and the Dust are still out there, trying to find out about where Lily is being kept. Erin is missing Logan and desperate to find out where he is. The journey continues with the Markless against DOME and all the secrets hidden along the way.

I'll start by saying that this book is a sequel. If you've not already read the book "Swipe" then start your journey here- [...] I fell in love with the Swipe series with the first book. My 13yo son has read along with me (actually he's read MUCH MUCH faster than me!) since the first book and he, as well as I, am excited for the sequel! This series is a young adult dystopian adventure series, that will likely captivate you and your children. As I mentioned before, I'm not a big fiction reader. I...more
I've been waiting for this book from the moment I finished Swipe, and I was not disappointed. The voice of each character and the writing style of the author is just as brilliant and clear. I've begun to notice certain writing rules Evan Angler breaks regularly, but it really works for him, because he does it consistently and it matches the tone of the book. The plot in this book was absolutely sparkling! I honestly doubted anything could trump Swipe, and there didn't seem to be much to reveal w...more
I should mention from the start that I haven't read the first book in the series. But nonetheless, I loved this book.
Sneak is set in a world that reminds me of 1984. Everyone's happy, everyone's united, and everyone has a Mark. Without the Mark, you can't buy anything, you can't own anything. Sounds familiar? Yup, this is taken from the book of Revelation. But, this story is very different from the normal end-times genre book.

Logan Langly is on the run. He not only flunked out of his Pledge, he escaped DOME custody. Now one of the Markless, he is trying to rescue his sister who he found out is alive, stay alive himself, and come to terms with some very stark truths about the world he used to believe in.
The best thing about this book? Getting some answers to all the questions I was left hanging with after Swipe. The worst thing about this book? All the new questions waiting for Book 3.

Sneak follows Logan Langley in his search for his sister, Lily, after she disappeared during her Pledge five years ago. In Swipe, the first book in this series, Logan is coming up to the age where he must Pledge and receive the Mark. But he is drawn into the world of the Markless and the Dust and, with the help of Erin, manages to escape his own Pledge. Now he is on the run from DOME (the Department of Marked Emergencies) as he attempts to find his way to Beacon City, where he believes Lily is b...more
This is truly a classic dystopian series dealing with real humans who have made a choice to join the masses, becoming a cog in a huge machine and receive 'the Mark' or to stand up for the freedom to be an individual, making right or wrong decisions on their own, suffering the repercussions if need be.
Book two in the Swipe Series takes us through Logan's run for freedom and his search to find Acheron, a prison for the markless filled with horrors beyond comprehension where his sister, Lily, taken...more

Logan lives in a terrifying world. At thirteen, Logan is expected to take the government mark. If you don't take the mark, you can't get a good job, buy food, or do anything "normal people" do. But, Logan has refused to be marked and is on the run. He has also recently found out that his sister is alive and living in the Capital City. That city is the domain of the charismatic leader who controls everything. Can Logan stay alive and rescue his sister?

From the first few pages, Sneak rocked. There was just so much excitement and danger from the start that I was immediately pulled in. And I hadn't even gotten to a part about Logan yet!
I enjoyed the story line of this book better than Swipe. It mainly stems from the fact, I've learned about the dystopian society in the books, so I can look past that and get into the story. Also, it was much more dangerous than the first book. There is little that goes on in this book where the Dust are not put i...more

Since I loved the first book, getting in to the next book is easy. Logan is on the run, searching for answers and the whereabouts his sister. I really loved that once again, this plot is face-paced full of action. With each chapter, Logan begins to learn the truth, the REAL truth! This makes me so excited! It felt so amazing to watch Logan learn the real truth and be awed by it.

Sneak starts off right where Swipe leaves off. Logan is on the run from the corrupt government in search for his sister. She has been missing for over 5 years since she left the house on her 13th birthday to get the tattoo and never returned. Logan is determined to find out what has happened to her come hell or high water. On the run Logan meets people and finds out that his sister is in fact alive and being held in a prison in the Beacon city.

I received a copy of SNEAK by Evan Angler from Thomas Nelson via BookSneeze. It’s the second book in the Young Adult, dystopian Swipe series (which starts with SWIPE, which I also read, courtesy of BookSneeze, and loved). While I do love reading, only a few actually get me so excited I can’t wait to read. This was did as soon as I opened the packaging. SWIPE left me anxious to learn what happened to the main characters, Logan and Erin. This quenched my thirst while still leaving me eager for wha...more

Sneak is part of a series, called Swipe, after the first book in this series. This is the second book of the series, something I didn't realise until the end of the book and I had Googled up it.
What was really good about this book is that anyone can just pick it up and start reading from the start. You don't have to be acquainted with Logan's story very well to know his situation. You are pretty much fully brief...more

Sneak picks up a month after the end of Swipe, following his escape from his pledging ceremony, Logan has made it to New Chicago. At the end of Swipe Logan discovered that his sister Lily was alive and incarcerated in a facility named Acheron. All he knows is that Acheron is in Beacon and he has to get his sister out.

We last left Logan on the run. And this story picks up there. Logan is working his way across the country toward the city of Beacon, in hopes of finding his sister Lily, who disappeared five years ago when she went in to receive her mark. There seem to be many more points of view in this book, though maybe it just felt that way. But the story is starting to get more complicated as more of the mysterious government is revealed.

It has been a month since Logan has escaped his marking. DOME has been clearing out all of the Markless in an attempt to find Logan. He's managed to stay one step ahead of them so far. Logan is making his way to Beacon where he hopes to find Acheron, a prison that may not exist, and to find his sister who may not even be alive.

This is a sequel to Evan Angler's last book, Swipe. I didn't find that out until after I finished reading the book (which, needless to say, happens a lot). Because of this, some parts of Sneak were a tad bit confusing, but it didn't take away from the incredible story of this sequel.
The characters were very interesting, the plot intriguing, but the author's writing style was sometimes hard to follow. Still, a very great read.

Sneak is the second book in the Swipe series. At the end of Swipe, Logan backed out of getting the Mark on his 13th birthday. Before he escaped from the Center, he learned that his sister, Lily, who disappeared when she was supposed to get Marked five years ago, was still alive and was kept somewhere in the Beacon City on the east coast.

ORIGINAL REVIEW AT: LITTLE BOOK STAR
If Swipe was about the author introducing us about the whole being “marked” thing when they turned 13, well this one is about Logan going off to an adventure to look for his sister who supposedly wasn’t marked (when she was supposed to) and was thrown into some place where all the other unmarked who were supposed to be marked were. The question is where is she? Is she still alive? Or were they just rumors?
I am blown away. Sneak surprised me in numerous ways. I...more

It's a good thing that I read the first book or I'm not sure I would have understood what all was going on as we revisit Logan and his friends in Sneak.
Logan has thus far avoided the Mark - just barely. In this dystopic society where everything seems perfect for those Marked by the government, evil and corruption lies just underneath all this talk of unity and peace. Logan escaped it in book one and this book picks right up where we left off last time, as the race continues to not only stay out...more

I was really excited to read this book and find out what would happen next to Logan, and I sure wasn't disappointed. In fact, I actually like Sneak way better than Swipe and I really liked that book!
The action is pulsing, and I love how the story switched from one scene to another. There were things happening everywhere, and no sooner had the author thrown one characters off a figurative cliff, then the scen would flip over to another scene where I would become engross...more

Sneak is the follow up to Evan Angler's debut novel Swipe. I really enjoyed the first novel and Sneak did not disappoint. I thought that as far as Christian fiction goes this is a subtle attempt at sharing what comes after the Rapture. The comparison to being Matched meets Left Behind is fairly accurate although it lacks the deep romantic angel of Matched and the overt Christian message of Left Behind.

Sneak, the sequel to Swipe (published earlier this year) is what I consider dystopia lite: a middle grade-friendly post-apocalyptic novel without all the excess gore and violence of the series that are currently in the spotlight. As dystopians go, Sneak doesn't have the most original or unusual of premises, but there's still quite a bit to like, some really good supporting characters, quite a few unexpected twists to the story, but most of all Angler's no nonsense approach to storytelling. I enjoyed this book, even if there's nothing I really haven't seen before. And it's a pretty good sequel to Swipe.

Second books are tough, but Evan's got it down. In fact, those who enjoyed the first book will love this one. It keeps getting better and better. I wouldn't want to live in a society where you either get Marked or go on the run, but I really did love reading about Logan and his friends' adventures. The twists were brilliant, and I didn't want to ever put this book down until I'd figured out what was happening.

What a great second book to the Swipe series. Evan Angler has continued the story perfectly and we have been able to see more of the characters that were introduced in the first book. I really enjoy this future world, the politics and the kids that appear to be way smarter than all the Marked Adults!!

This series really draws you in with plot twists. As I began to read this book, I thought that Chancellor Cylis was running some type of cult. As I continue to read, his simple cult turns out to be something much darker. He seems to want to rule the world. He did it in a sneaky way where no one really thinks that’s what he wants. However, his plans seem to involve joining Europe, a key step in global domination. He hadn’t really appeared in the first two books, but I wonder if he would make an a...more

Evan lives without the Mark, evading DOME and writing in the shadows of Beacon.
Swipe is his first book. But if anyone asks, you know nothing about it, and you didn't hear anything from him. Don't make eye contact if you see him. Don't call his name out loud. He's in enough trouble already.
And so are you , if you've read his book.
