This book was an interesting start to a trilogy that promises to be exciting.

I'm gonna jump right into it and discuss the gorgeous Irish men who fill the pages of this story.

Liam was delectable. A real charmer, and even though I had my suspicions about him, I moved them a side for the time being, because who can resist a sexy foreign accent and those gorgeous grey eyes. Although Liam had the prince charming act down pat, I was extremely intrigued by the 'shadow man', as I like to refer to him,...more

Jenna Bernel, I had never heard of her but amazon said hey read it.. Glad I listened. Lol.

Aria is starting college and her two best friends are in tow. Morgan & Kayla. Ari has a bad habit! Jerks!!
She honestly has no luck with guys. She has a fear of a stranger. The same stranger whom saved her once at the lake. She would have drown that day. He saved her. This was all before her and her friends take off for college.

I waffled back and forth between 2 and 3 stars. I'd probably give it a 2.5. It was interesting enough, but there was something lacking. The main character didn't do the traditional ignoring of reason and falling head over heels in love with the guy from minute one. She was cautious and tried to just maintain a friendship. Of course, that didn't last, but at least she tried. *SPOILERS* Even the way it's written gives no real clue that Liam's going to be the bad guy until well into their relations...more

I liked this book and would say the rating is 3.50 stars.

I was not crazy about the decisions Aria makes and it makes me have a harder time rooting for her to overcomes.

She talks about making bad relationship choices, but continues do so repeatedly. I did not feel the growth of her personality. She falls so deeply for Liam without knowing very much about him and travels off to Ireland with him and her two friends. Yet she continues to blow off her "stalker" and believes the worst of him.

I’ve just recently found the new genre called New Adult fiction which focuses on young men and women fresh out of high school and exploring their options. As mom of two teens, I enjoy this type of read for two reasons: One, who doesn't like to relive their own youth? and, Two, it helps me to understand my own teenagers a bit better.

Unearth, book #1 in the Fae Witch Trilogy, is a New Adult book and, as such, I found it a fun and exciting read. Fun because the protagonist, Aria, worries about her...more

This may sound odd, but there was only one instance that I felt was too contrived to be 'real'. That said, this story centers on supernatural beings with magic set in modern times.

I thought the characters were interesting, and though for the most part very static, by the end of the story each had changed a bit. I really like the mysterious guardian and hope to see lots more from him. I have to admit, though I thought it was too good to be true, Liam sounded/seemed awesome and despite the author'...more

Aria is just your average girl who is finishing school and dealing with a loser ex boyfriend Doug who just wanted to sleep with her. He even turns up at her house in the dead of night drunk and tries to take advantage of her but this mysterious guy shows up and scares him off. He is familiar and Aria feels afraid but doesn't know why. She is adopted and nearly died when she was young and has nightmares dreaming of this guy who seemed to be watching her drown and then he shows up in her back yard...more

Pretty compelling and fast-paced, I finished in a day or two. It was a nice way to while away time. It was written in a very self-published kind of way, if that doesn't sound too terrible. Not overly pretty or lyrical, with long sentences that need commas (the best example: "...through the mirror's reflexion his eyes stared into mine giving me a hint of compassion he hid so cleverly."). Many sentences are like this, but after awhile I ignored them for the sake of enjoying the surprisingly fun ri...more

This was an OK read for me. As usual, I like anything that has anything to do with the Fae. However, I found this book needed more action, better character development, and a stronger heroine. The flow of the writing was good but more vivid descriptions would have made the writing more captivating. Too much focus on the romance on this book and less about the heroine's abilities and background. I guess the romance does build up for a reason. However, the romantic part...more

This story is awesome!! I read it in one sitting and was completely entranced and enchanted by the complex plot. I was taken in with Ari and her two best friends and the adventure they embark on is one of mystery and danger. Ari is hesitant to get involved with Liam as she has a bad track record with guys. But he is charming and slowly wins her over. I loved the unexpected turn of events and can't wait to read book two. This is a fantastic read!! It does contain the word hell but it is in refere...more

i guess i can say that i liked this book. well it actually reminded me a lot of the sweep series by cate tiernan. which i loveee! but this book is at a much faster pace and i guess thats why i like it. instead pages and pages of writing trying to creating the perfect scene and getting you wrapped up in the emotions of the character (which i dont have a problem with) this book says a few "pretty" lines and then bam right to the part where you are finding out what is going to happen. all in all a...more

This was a fast fun read! I loved the characters and hate the characters! The bad guy Liam, (sorry spoiler alert) is so well written that you can't help hating him! He is a great bad guy! You get completely sucked into his kindness and all over awesomeness until it all unravels and it is so fun to read! Love, love, Clay! I can not wait until I get the second and third book in this series! I also can't wait to read how the main character is going to grow in her abilities! I'd recommend this book...more

She’s always has had bad luck when choosing boyfriends so she makes a packed with her friends to focus on school. But then a perfect guy, Liam, with an awesome Irish accent shows up. Jenna pens "Unearth" in a suspenseful romantic plot filled with twists and turns. All her characters were interesting, believable and actually fun to read about. Just when I thought I figured the story line out, Jenna throws in a nice twist and a cliff hanger I'm hooked waiting for the second book in the series to come. Highly recommended for all YA and not so YA readers.

This review is based on a complimentary copy from the author which was provided for an honest review.

Talk about an emotional roller coaster! What a pleasant surprise to find this slightly different twist in this genre! From the beginning, Ari proves to be fascinating character to watch! We have all thought at one time or another that we just can't seem to find "Mr. Right"-then, one day, there he is. Oh yeah, then you find yourself caught in a struggle to control the world, you have special "powers" and are reminded that you have the best friends a girl could ever have! This series has been reco...more

I really liked this book. The main character is realistic and likable despite the fact that she's a little gullible to say the least. Her two best friends are attached to her at the hip and somehow end up with her in Ireland (you'll have to read the book to find out why), but the story is interesting enough and keeps you reading page after page. If I didn't already have so many books lined up to read I would have already grabbed the second book. I'll be excited to get back into this World sooner...more

Compelling! Typical storyline of the the all-American girl, seemingly totally ordinary finds out she's extra-ordinary. But it has a great pace, prances through enjoyable college daze (makes me reminiscent of my own) and a storyline with twists to have you wanting to read book 2 right away!
Tasha Turner
Enjoyable if a bit slow to get to the action... which does not last long. Who is the bad guy? Who to trust? A surprise twist or two. Interesting world and i cared about the characters. Kept me turning the pages. I look forward to reading more by this author.

I got this book as a $.99 download from amazon and I am really glad I did. It throws you right into the turmoil with the characters and has many twists and turns without leaving you spinning. Great start to the trilogy and I can't wait to read the others.

twas good, but at the end i was a bit like... Cliche alert! hehe. all through the story i felt like something was wrong, off kilter in some way and i'm glad i was right in believing why that was. 3.5 stars but rounded it up to 4.

This is a really captivating story, with a different take on the Fae. I really enjoyed the main character building. I am anxious to continue the trilogy.
I would recommend this book to anyone who love the Fey.

Free book had me at $.00 :) I liked it it kept me involved . I was confused a few times, but found my way back as I went along. Seems to have a desent plot I'll buy the next one and see where it goes
Faye Dewell
It was ok. There were some editing glitches and the story pacing was a little off. The premise was interesting though. Ultimately, I wasn't sure if the 2nd book was worth the read.

Jenna Bernel lives tucked along the bluffs, spending her days lost in the world of fantasy. When she’s not writing, she’s reading and drinks way to much caffeine to satisfy her love of both. Growing up she traveled extensively through the competitive dance circuit, unaware that at the time it would provide her future career an endless stream of inspiration for the captivating drama of Young Adult...more
