"One Hit Wonder" by the tremendously gifted Denyse Cohen is a novel that should appeal to a wide variety of readers. While the plot itself is intriguing enough on its own terms and the personality of Audrey (the main character)is clearly and vividly portrayed, what I personally found to be the most striking aspect of this novel was its moments of superb descriptive writing.

I really enjoyed reading "One Hit Wonder" by Denyse Cohen. After Audrey posts on Facebook about being laid-off, a long-lost childhood friend Matt offers her a job to photograph his wannabe rock band on tour. The other band members are Tyler, John, and Kevin. I thought it was well written and packed with a lot of varying emotions. When the blurb said "jealousy, betrayal, and gut-wrenching sorrow", 'twas not a lie. I thought this was a very sweet romance that showed love can survive rather difficult obstacles life throws at you. The HEA was a huge pay off for me in the end because I rooted for Audrey and John the whole way. You honestly can't help but pull for them. I was able to read an ARC of One Hit Wonder. Musicians intrigue me. Always have ~ I wonder what they're thinking on stage. It's no secret what John in One Hit Wonder is thinking – he's thinking about band photographer Audrey. The only problem? One Hit Wonder by Denyse Cohen is a lovely story about Audrey (love the name by the way) who ends up out of a job and hating life. That is until she is invited to become the photographer to a sexy man band.
I really liked the main character. She's funny, sometimes wondering "what the heck am I doing", and quite engaging. She was a person I could imagine being friends with. I like reading novels about people I believe could actually exist.

Just finished writing a review only to have Goodreads gobble it up and spit it into cyberspace somewhere irretrievable...alas...instead of that review, this will be the quick run-down of what I remember saying:

A fun contemporary romance about a band and their newly-hired photographer who goes from playing local festivals to big-time musical notoriety with one, romantic song. I enjoyed riding along on the tour bus, seeing how they lived and what went on behind the stage. The band members were each unique and interesting. Denyse Cohen created wonderfully believable characters here. Audrey is relatable as she struggled to carve out an identity independent of her work and family. I love how she refuses to let others define her, even as it complicates her romantic relationship with John. Also kudos to the author for not shying away from the less savory aspects of fame. There is a nice balance of anguish and sweet and a whole of sexy without being over top and distracting from the story.
Brought back lots of good memories from when I used to tour during college. A must-read for any musician who has ever spent an uncomfortable amount of time in a vehicle with strangers who turn into your best friends.
A cute read about a shy musician that falls in love with a woman that begins to pursue a career as a photographer. The trials they endure as he rockets to stardom after writing a song about her is interesting.

was ehh on it. It wasn't bad, but I kinda had an insta-luv vibe going on and i'm not so much a fan of CR Insta-Luv it just can't pull it off like PNR can.
