I enjoyed this in spite of some serious niggles. The made-up names to thinly disguise the towns of Hana and Paia were were the number of times both men rolled their eyes (17).
There was also this peculiar line: Another sip of beer covered Jake’s eyes long enough for him to check the door.
How is this possible? Did he drink with his eyes?
There were references to both men's eyes in almost every paragraph - a decent editor should have noticed.

I liked the premise, but thought the delivery was lacking. I really liked, for the most part, her College series, but this didn't pull me in as those did.
Daisy is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
