This book had many redeeming qualities.

First, let's start off with the fact that there was way more to this book than goo goo eyes, flirting, trying to get laid and casual interaction. While there were sub-characters that had the carefree lifestyle, they were only a mere backdrop to the two main characters who had more backstory and way more substance.

Secondly, the story. It had twists, turns, rumors, accusations, innuendo, misunderstandings, death, mystery, violence. All things you can find in

I thought this was a great book the main character McKenna has lived a very lonely life since her mother died in a huge mausoleum of a house with her step-father Elliott. She comes home one night to discover blood everywhere, Elliott's blood so much that there's no way he could still be alive, she becomes the main, well only suspect. We know from the prologue that it's a set-up and he's planned it all but what unravels is an enjoyable tale of betrayal and deceit and through all the anguish will ...more

Maybe a 3.5...This was an enjoyable free Kindle read. I liked the couple, good plot and excitement, and hot love scenes. Loved the development of Dustin and McKenna's relationship. If I had to nitpick...although the love scenes were good, some of the terminology got irritating toward the end. Funny that I didn't notice it in the early scenes, but by the end it was a bit over the top. Still a good read, though.

I enjoyed this book. It was interesting and I really liked the characters in the story. That said, it had some flaws that I struggled with. The who-done-it was predictable, despite the fact that I think it was intended to be a shocker. I had it figured out before the end of the second chapter. The relationship development between McKenna and Dustin was abrupt and not well-written; though I really enjoyed the relationship development between McKenna's best friend and Dustin's partner. I also didn ...more
What could be better than a sexy murder mystery with two hot cops, partners even and two hot young women, best friends since early child hood; this is the formula for the story in To Serve and Protect? Just for good measure add gangsters, a few white lies and the FBI getting involved. Dustin and McKenna make the perfect serious couple learning to love and trust again, while Dawn and Tyson add comedy to what goes on between the sheets. The story moved quickly and the plot kept the reader guessing ...more

I liked the characters. The story was good but I would liked to have more to the end or the story.

Free on kindle. I liked the murder mystery part even if I wasn't surprised. The romance aspect was cute, but predictable.

I liked it, but it wasn't amazing. Didn't really connect to either one of the main characters so it kind of dragged on a little bit.
