I was very lucky to receive an ARC of this book, but I put off reading it for a few days. If I didn't start it, it wouldn't have to end. But I did start it and it did end. Though the journey was breathtaking.
Filled with the perfect blend of humor, action and emotion, A Fall of Water brought an extraordinary series to a beautiful end. From the first page I was glued to the story, only stopping when I absolutely had to. The cast of characters we know and love were as strongly written and developed...more

This review applies to the entire series as well as for this book. 5 star reading..completely satisfied.
What can you say about a story that includes the hunt for an ancient manuscript, a 500 year old vampire, a treasure hunt, a spunky, kick-ass librarian, political intrigue and an enduring love story. Can you say fantastic?
We get to travel to beautiful locations around the world from the US to Europe to Asia and exploring the powers of each of the elements: Fire, Earth, Wind, and Water. Beatric...more

Ok. So I love, love, love this series. Going into it, I really didn't know what it was about. I stumbled upon the first novel as a free download on the Kindle and hey, free is free. I have read a lot of vampire/human paranormal romance so I wasn't expecting too much. However, I was quickly drawn into story and didn't look back. It is exactly what I wanted Twilight to be (Sorry Stephanie). Don't get me wrong. I still love Twilight as a guilty pleasure, but this is a much more grown up version whi...more
These four books were excellent and I can't wait to read any more that Hunter adds.
Though tense and moving and brilliant they were funny and constantly moving and keeping me guessing.
There wasn't a character I didn't like which is unusual, everyone was interesting and felt completely three dimensional. I loved the use of flashbacks in this book too as the greater backstories helped to flesh everyone out even more, I never felt I really understood the main villain before, but in this book not...more

Very good ending to a series! The flashbacks are done well, but used frequently. It tampered with my reading rhythm.
There's plenty character growth from book one to book four. The action sequences were fiendishly good. Their Elemental powers were on full display. The good guys entered on cue, yet not always on time.
Other characters have stories I hope will be told, such as Tenzin, Ben, Deidre, etc. I am glad I skipped this book to read Carwyn's, as this book would have been spoilery...more

Definitely on my list of favorite series! The writing is incredibly good. The characters are strong and likeable or dis-likeable, as the case may be. ;)
But it's not on my list of faves because of good writing and strong characters. What made my list was the world that this author created and the characters that lived in it. What a beautiful, beautiful story, with people that I felt like I knew! I still find myself thinking about some of the characters and what they're doing...that's not weird, i...more

This is the last book in the Elemental Mysteries series and it’s a great book! Finally, the story of Beatrice and Giovanni comes to an end and they have what they want. Their family and friends safe and a peaceful life. This story is one of the most well-written in the series and I have to admit that too many times I cried and I laughed and I was anxious to keep reading.

This last book in the series was really, really good... but it also dragged a bit for me. There are a lot more politics involved in this book, and a lot of what seems to be esoteric side-trips that don't always make sense until virtually the end of the book. I'm not complaining. As a whole, I'd give this series a 3.75-4 star rating.

Overall, this is the best vampire book I have ever read. The characters were fantastic, I loved the elemental aspect to the books, and they can't go out in the daytime so I felt they were not invincible like some vampire books seem to be. Oh, and the plot was pretty good as well.
The only negative I have is this series was labeled a romance/fantasy for adults. Well, it wasn't that smutty, but I am not used to reading books where there was so much lovemaking going on. At least they were married,...more

I have absolutely devoured this series in the last few weeks. What's not to like: the first one was free and each were no more than $4.99 on Kindle. (Yeah...I can be frugal.)And while I can't give any one of the books a five, because they are really not "good literature" the series was really good.
It's a vampire series (tis the season) with a good love story between Giuseppe -- an ancient vampire who is a book researcher and Beatrice who is a librarian. The vampire story was a new one that posi...more

I can't believe it's over, no, no I can't. The emotional roller coaster I search for in every book came through with shuddering effect throughout this series - from elation, to abject fear, absolute sorrow, knuckle biting suspense, to sobs of "Why?! Why, oh why!" all the way to the sated peace that I've yet to find in so many other promising stories.
I don't say this lightly, but the Elemental Mysteries is going to linger in my head for a very, very long time.

If you read my blog at all you know that I have been a HUGE fan of Elizabeth Hunter ever since I read the first book in the Elemental Mysteries series, A Hidden Fire. I cant believe I am now trying to put together my thoughts on the last book in this amazing series! It is so bittersweet to finish a series that you love, especially when the last book, A Fall of Water, was so satisfying.

I'm so so sad to be done with this series and having to say goodbye to Gio and B. It really is a bittersweet feeling.
Ms. Hunter has easily become my favorite author by this point and has made it so hard to find other books that live up to my new standards---she has definitely set the bar high.
I have fallen in love with not only the main characters in this series, Gio and B, but she has done what most authors sometimes forget to do (or some who just can't seem to pull it off) . Hunter has not on...more

This is a such a bittersweet blog tour. Elizabeth Hunter's "Elemental Mysteries" series kicks butt like no other but this is the end of the line for books dominated by B and Gio. Book 4, "A Fall Of Water" is the highly anticipated final book in the series and Ms. Hunter does not disappoint.

I have been quietly reading A Fall of Water that Elizabeth Hunter shared with me and kept me awake late last night to finish it and still has me thinking about it this morning. I am pleased that I finished this series. Encouraging to see a strong female lead - although I would like to see a strong female that doesn't define herself in terms of her relationship to the men around her. A good effort for a self-published author - no continuity issues, although some convenient plot devices - typical of the genre however. I will wait to see whether Ms Hunter is able to attract a wider audience than her fanfic followers, and hope that she does. It was certainly a better read...more
A wonderfully captivating series - have loved every book in it. What I loved:
- the characters are fantastic; each have their own voice, and are written so realistically each with their own quirks and personalities.
- the love story between Gio and B is a slow burn and a lot of time is spend developing their emotions. This is quite rare in the para-romance novels I have read where it is always about hot sexy times all the time. Gets predictable after a while.

I don't want this to be over! Seriously, don't let it end! This last book in the Elemental Mysteries series is a thrill ride! So much is going on, your emotions take a roller-coaster ride to the end.
The characters in this series are so well developed, I'm having a hard time letting them go. Even someone as evil as Lorenzo was able to evoke some sympathy from the reader in the end. I can honestly say that this book was the best of a really great series. Elizabeth Hunter's writing was consistent across the series. The story grew and continued to draw the reader into the characters and the mystery. She continued to draw you into not just B and Gio's world, but, also into Tenzin, Carwyn and Ben's lives. It has been an experience watching their relationship with each other grow along with B and Ben's relationship with Gio's lifelong friends. It was great getting a glimpse into...more
The Pan-ultimate ending to this series is not disappointing! It's full on Action, Adventure, Mystery and emotional rollercoaster.
The love and sexual connection between Gio and Beatrice is a powerful one and the family and friendships they make are strong. The writing style of Elizabeth is brilliant, and it feel as if you are there experiencing it all alongside them.

I was sad to see this story end...but, I suppose all good things must eventually conclude.
In the final installment of the Elemental Mysteries, B and Gio return to where it all began: Rome.
Here we find the elixir of life. One that promises better days where humans overcome ailments and vampires bloodlust is a thing of the past. Combine that with B and Gio's usual worries, a son named Lorenzo and crazy step/lunatic mother, and you have a recipe for... an excellent story.

The forth, and final, book in the Elemental Series does not disappoint. It is what I have come to expect from this series, interesting characters, mystery, romance and action. However, in this book B goes from being just smart and clever, to smart, clever and a not-to-be-messed-with fighting machine. Gio who has always been a little secretive but swoon worthy, develops into the leading man you love to read about, caring and devoted but then also the one in need of rescuing. That does not happen...more

It's not often that I'm reduced to weeping while reading, perhaps it was the grandeur of it all… I don't know. Make no mistake this is an epic saga & the finale is a gut check. I have lived and breathed this world of Elizabeth Hunter's for the past week, I literally haven't been able to put these books down. And now Giovanni's and Beatrice's journey has come to an end and what an explosive end! How could I find myself close to tears towards the end! Well simply it's because of the excellent way E. Hunter has brought these characters to life. You can honestly imagine that they are walking the earth and living amongst us and that you know them as well as they know each o...more
How can I... Just...Oh. My. Thor. From beginning to end, I loved this entire series. I love getting so caught up in a book that all I can do is count the hours until I can find some quiet time to read it. That happened with this entire series and, in my opinion, A Fall of Water was a phenomenal finish to Beatrice and Giovanni's story. I cannot wait to begin Carwyn's story in the soon-to-be released Building From Ashes. I hope there will also be a sort of continuation of the B/Gio family story, w...more
