The best-selling author shares his inspirational journey. Today known as the author of the mega-seller The Bondage Breaker, and the founder of Freedom in Christ ministries, Neil Anderson didn't always know that he was called to serve the Lord as a Christian minister. Though he is sure of his calling now, he readily admits that he has never sought a position in ministry and ...more

I sense Neil Anderson wrote his memoir, Rough Road to Freedom, with some reluctance because the early part of the book is quite stilted, which is unlike his other books. However as the book progresses and, once he begins to write about his passion – our identity in Christ, the book gains Anderson's familiar flow. I actually wonder if writing his memoir gave Anderson an excuse to write again about the importance of knowing who we are in Christ.

I have read many of Anderson's personal experiences

A little disjointed in parts, but overall a fascinating insight into the journey Neil and his wife and ministry have taken with God. I've now moved on to reading Victory Over the Darkness - his suggestion for where to begin the process of healing and wholeness.

Commenced rereading on 12th July 2016.
Finished rereading on 19th July 2016.
My original rating was 4 stars, but I've changed that to 5 stars. The content is still both helpful and engaging, but I didn't see the disjointedness this time.

I like to read lots of kinds of books, but I think one of my favorite genres is memoir. I love to read people’s’ stories and hear the types of things that shaped them socially, intellectually and emotionally. In Christian memoirs, you also get to hear about conversion and call, the types of things that shaped a person’s convictions, and struggles along the way. Rough Road to Freedom is the story of Neil T. Anderson, best known in the Evangelical world for writing Victory Over the Darkness and ...more

I received this book as a giveaway on goodreads.com first reads. I am anxious to get into the heart of this book as I know I am in spiritual transition. Thank you for choosing me to receive this book. I am enjoying the book thus far. When I read it again, I will read it with a highlighter to get those nuggets that I need in a pinch. Okay, I am giving this book 5 stars and I am only half done...it is blessing my socks off! Well, I have to repent. When I first received the book, I looked at the ...more

Truly, this book is a memoir, but it's not just the story of Mr. Anderson's life, it is the journey that God has taken him on, teaching him about a believer's position in Christ and how to experience the freedom that Jesus died to provide. As a result, there are stories about Mr. Anderson's life, warm, humorous, and anecdotal, but there is also a lot of wisdom and learning presented in this book. Rough Road to Freedom reads as an overview of Mr. Anderson's other books, and left me with a strong ...more

This book is the story of how Neil Anderson grew from the modest beginnings of a Minnesota farming family to founding a worldwide mission organization called Freedom in Christ. I had never heard of Neil or Freedom in Christ before reading the book.

I can't even put into words how greatly this book has impacted my life. I feel inspired by how Neil has lived his life for Christ, especially when that wasn't the easy decision to make. The

Having read three of his other books I was interested to hear more about this author. Overall I Found this an encouraging testimony of endurance, positivity and faith. Neil has very much a "can do" attitude although I would be interested to hear about the long term outcomes in his spiritual deliverance ministry.

This was a fairly interesting biography, but it needed a better editor. It did not flow well, and often seemed like a plug for his other books.
