First I have to say, this short has an amazing cover. Good heavens, gorgeous. This is the first time I’ve read anything by this author, and she really impressed me. For such a short book (it’s part of the Erotic Gem series), she managed to get a lot of feeling into it. For a short story (approximately 20 pages) it was very satisfying. Don't get me wrong I would love to have spent more time reading about Amelia and Keon, maybe we can talk Brynn into revisiting this couple :) I love the name Keon too, it gives me all kinds of visions of warm tropical places and a strong dominate man...but I am get away with myself :) This story is very timely, that many people touched by the military can relate to. This is a quickie read, but oh so enjoyable. I’m a sucker for a man in uniform, so I loved the military angle, and the homecoming scenario that’s created. Though I’ve never been in that position, the way it’s portrayed feels authentic. The dynamic between the characters feels a little awkward at first, but once they get past big secret, the chemistry is sizzling.

I have to say I love a lot of Brynn Paulin's stories (especially the Daly Way series! :) and this story was another great one. I loved both Keon and Amelia. Keon is prime alpha male and know what he wants...and he wants Amelia. Amelia is sweet and soft but in a good way, she didn't come across as weak (which I hate in a leading lady). I've read this story a few times already and I'm sure I will do so again in the future. It's short but oh so good! The story even inspired me to send care packages...more

This was a sexy short.
I had read some reviews about this novella on Amazon and they spoke about this amazing emotional depth this book contained. I missed it. I will admit I have no experience of the returning soldier scenario portrayed but believe that emotion should translate regardless.
I also didn't like that our hero had somewhat set up our heroine regarding the identity issue as a means to "punish" her. It took advantage of her insecurities.
An enjoyable fast read.

This thing is short. Very. It's just like I read a short summary of a book. I mean it's 23 pages. What can you possibly write in 23 pages? Yep, it was just like that. Rushed conversations, rushed sex scene. Maybe I could appreciate it if the one sex scene would be well-developed, but it isn't. Oh yes, and I still didn't mention the misprints or typos. How hard can it be to check 23 pages?
This was a short, BDSM-lite, story about a soldier coming home and meeting the girl that he had spent months getting to know over the internet. Amelia doesn't know how to tell him that she's not the person that he thinks she is, and once he gets her alone in a hotel room, she can't bring herself to do it. Steamy, sexy, and a little sweet. :-) Good, quick read.

Amelia began to correspond with Keon, after her sister lost interest, but she never told him about the change Now she meets him for the first time, nervous about the attraction and the deception.
The attraction is definitely mutual. Khaki combusts in this little book and you get a sweet HEA.

I find it really hard to rate short stories, but this one was really enjoyable. I love the whole returning soldier theme and Keon was a pretty hot soldier.
I have read and loved Brynn Paulin books before, they are solid reads and written well. This one is the same and if longer.... maybe it would of rated higher.

Wow! The cover is HOT!! The story is short but nicely written. Personally, I would love to see this type of story in a full length book! Awesome Read!

Not bad, but I didn't realise it only a few pages. it could have been a decent story if made longer
This was maybe the quickest book I've ever read. Very hot. Loved it. This is a coffee break book! Lol
This story could have been so much better but it was waaaaaaay to short.
You can read this in about 10-15 minutes. Depending on interruptions.

This story is short, sweet and hot. I'm still trying to get used to BDSM and it's intense (for me at least). It was written so well creating a need to find out more about Amelia Barker and Keon Munro after their first meeting. :-)
