Title: Neurotically Yours
By: Bonnie Trachtenberg
Review By: Engelia McCullough

I’ve been to California but have never ventured into the world of LA. I’ve seen off many a friend now working in the chic city as actors and watched numerous episodes of The Millionaire Matchmaker but never stepped foot on secret LA ground. Nonetheless, Bonnie Trachtenberg immediately brings the reader into the material and youth obsessed world of LA County and the one thing that drives many people to its shores, the e...more

Neurotically Yours is not my first read from Bonnie Trachtenberg, nor will it be my last! Trachtenberg doesn’t disappoint, her characters are full of life, quirky and extremely likeable. Dara Harrison is a hard working woman who works as a relationship columnist for a weekly paper called LA Entertains. Dara is known by fellow staff and column readers as the go-to person for straight forward advice and really telling it how it is. But all of it goes awry when she launches a LA dating service call...more

Dara Harrison is an advice columnist. In fact, her “tell-it-like-it-is” approach has made her the most popular advice columnist in Los Angeles. On this reputation, she starts a new business, a dating service specifically for those unfortunate souls who have no luck with romantic endeavors. Every new business has it bumps in the road, and Dara’s is no different. Not long after launching the business, she finds herself battling a law-suit and dealing with a publicity stunt that backfired on her. S...more

Losing a job never worked out so well. Dana Harrison lost her job as a columnist for the love lorn and decided she would use her advising talents to open a unique dating service along with her friend Reggie.

She and Reggie were having such fun, and you will have fun as well. This book was light, hilarious, and will definitely brighten up your day.

The characters are loveable, funny, talented, and perky....the kind of friends we would all love to have and the kind of person we would love to be. Y...more

Bonnie Trachtenberg has written a charmingly funny romp through the life of Dara Harrison, relationship columnist and a chronic non-dater. From the first chapter on I found myself laughing out loud and falling love with the quirky cast of characters.

Dara Harrison had the world on a string until she found herself unemployed with no prospects. After feeling sorry for herself and the support of her friends she pulls up her bootstraps and starts a dating service with a unique concept never before at...more

I received a copy of Neurotically Yours by Bonnie Trachtenberg is exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book! It only took me a day to read because it is fast-paced, funny, and I had to see how it ended. Dara is a great MC, a smart woman with a large vocabulary that will make you laugh, and someone that thinks she doesn’t need a man to complete. It’s quite funny that she is a relationship advice columnist, and then goes on to create an online dating service. I liked the intrigue in her rela...more

Neurotically Yours (Kindle Edition)
I loved this book. The humour and witty dialogue had me chuckling from the first chapter and I was glad it ended the way it did. When I read the first few pages I knew it was going to be a fun read, but I was impressed as the story line developed to learn that I liked the varied characters and cared about them all. Dara and her cat, Mallory; Reggie(adorable); Jesse(priceless); Tony and Nick(OMG)—all loveable and so different; yet woven together into prose that...more

Naturally perfect!

Dara is a natural and so is the delightful author Bonnie Trachtenberg! Dara Lynn's childhood dream was a rose-tinted view of life and love. Fast forward and this is one grown-up relationship advice guru. But whilst Dara can solve other people's love problems, she can't solve her own. Can she find her happy ending? Is there a Mr Right for her? With the help of a feline friend named Mallory, there might be a glimmer of hope ....

I do love a nice romantic comedy and Neurotically Yours is that and so much more. I was a fan of Bonnie’s after reading Wedlocked so I’m pleased to say I love her even more after reading this one. Neurotically Yours has humor, romance, snark, and intrigue. It’s about finding and believing in love, but it’s also about a strong, determined female who follows her dreams of starting a lucrative and in-demand business, and all the troubles that go along with that.

Dara was a very funny and witty chara...more

This was one of the best romance novels I have read in a long time. The author did a wonderful job of creating loveable characters who seemed real, and who readers could connect with. There was no "love at first site," moments, but instead, a more realisitic approach to romance with a "be careful not to get hurt" attitude. The book had just the right amount of romance, humor, and heart-wrenching drama. I would definitely recommend it to readers who enjoy romance novels and romantic comedies.

Omg I am so in love! I thoroughly enjoyed this story from start to finish and recommend everyone read it! It crossed all the emotions, happy, angry, sad, confused... It was beautifully penned together and touches the heart!

ETA: this felt very real world and not fairy tale romantic and I really loved and appreciated that!

Neurotically Yours was my first Bonnie Trachtenberg book, and now I am a fan for life! I chose this book as my beach read--a selection I covet--and was not disappointed! I actually found myself unable to put it down and sneaking around the beach house with my Kindle so my husband wouldn't yell at me, lol. If you are looking for a sweet romance with a side of funny, this book is for you. I NEVER laugh out loud while I read, but this book did it--the scene where they are in the deposition and the...more

Adorable! Well-written! Unique storyline! Great characters...with depth! Slow-to-come romance! Fantastic read!
For the more sensitive reader...some swearing with a handful of extreme words.

I don't give 5* very often but this book was simply fun. I couldn't stop reading and for me that makes a five star effort. Of course, the plot was entirely predicatable, even the ending but I didnt mind at all. As far as good escapism goes, read this one :)

Started a little slow & I didn't think I was going to be able to get into it but the more I read, the more I got hooked on it. By the last few chapters, I couldn't put it down.

Bonnie Trachtenberg graduated from New York University with a major in Film and Television Production. She promptly found a job on a B movie you never heard of.
