A lovely book, written in clear, evocative prose, interspersed with the author's poetry.

I was lucky enough to find this on a cousin's bookshelf while staying at his place near the Forest of Dean. It gave a lot more context and history to my surroundings. (Including making me feel better about having a hard time understanding what the local bus driver was saying.)
