Let me just start this review by saying THIS BOOK ROCKS!!!
I so love this one....to be totally honest I really liked its plot from the first time I saw it so I've been waiting for this ever since..but a little part of me is afraid cause that time all the books I've read is either the plot is too much it became boring or the plot is good but the book is not.... and I really really don't want to ruin my good views in this book.....but still I tried and I'm so glad I did. the story started from the...more

What we thought about it...

Storyline
{Glass} Interesting plot. I had my share of doubts first time I herad about this book. It reminded me too much of manga/anime The Vampire Knight with all that stuff about night and day students, but that's where all similarities ends. I liked paranormal elements of the story - zombie-like creatures living hidden in human society, secret kingdoms and two boys on the throne. My biggest problem with T...more

Phoenix McKay finds outs why curfew is at sunset at Barinkoff Academy, there's only one rule: no students on campus after curfew. Here Phoenix finds a group of students walking the halls and finds herself in a predicament. They threaten to taste her flesh - - until along comes Demitri – he is handsome and alluring. Pale skinned, dark eyes and hair and Phoenix find that she not only is mesmerized by his aura but his irresistible demeanour. ** he is her knight in shining armour so to speak ** swoo...more

I Totally Loved It! Awesome-sauce. A delicious book to taste and devour. Full Review at: Books4Juliet

The moment I started readingTaste, I couldn't put it down. It was a total page-turner book that kept me awake until past 3 in the morning! It was engrossing and very captivating.

The story started when Phoenix McKay accidentally broke the one and only rule at Barinkoff Academy: No students on campus after curfew. Falling asleep at the library isn't a goodthingafter all. Now she must face her fate...more

Taste is a unique book - written from the POV of intelligent, quirky, and slightly annoying 17-year-old Phoenix. After dealing with an unexplainable family death, Phoenix is more detached from humankind than ever - although she does have one friend...well, not quite a friend but a roommate - who she likes...mostly. ;)

Ms. Evangelista allows readers to grow with Phoenix, through her discovery of the Night Students and her own internal healing, giving us a book wrought with emotion, humor, and love...more

Ok this isn't a vampire books. It's a "sexy men who eat flesh, crave flesh, desire flesh...blah blah flesh." I had a total creep factor come to life...in this book. I did enjoy it, and have no buyers regret. But eating flesh. (*Screams shrilly and pulls hair while running through the house turning all the lights on*) I hate things eating flesh.

What I enjoyed.

Demitri. How can you not love a man(albeit a flesh eating one) who is willing to always save you and has a uncompromising desire for you....more

Um. Hm. I'm at a loss for words (and it's not the good kind).

WHAT I LIKED:

Taste actually had a unique paranormal twist!

I come into this book expecting vampires galore, but I was completely wrong! (And so far off...) I love it when books surprise me like this, and this twist was pretty refreshing to read about than the usual angels, werewolves, etc.

The world building = original.

I can't go too into depth about the world building or else I'll spoil said paranormal twist, bu...more

RATING: 3.5 stars - I definitely enjoyed this one

OK, so this book definitely draws readers in from page one - you're plunged right into the middle of the mind of this feisty, stubborn, funny, borderline irritating girl (named after a mythological bird, no less - in actual fact, I didn't love her name at first, but I think it's kinda growing on me). And we find our Phoenix trapped in a pretty unique situation on the first couple of pages.

To say it took me a while to adjust to this world would be...more

Well, this book was a pleasant surprise for me. I wasn't expecting that much on this one and to be honest I had some doubt I'd end up really enjoying it. But I'm pleased to report that this book is actually a very interesting one. It might not have instantly caught my interest during the first parts but as I went deeper to the story I realized that it had eventually intrigued me. The characters and the world Kat created were indeed a very unique and fantastic and I'm happy to say that...more

1st thoughts: Woo what a nice surprise!
It reminds me of Vampire Knight zombie version.
Short Review:
My first ever zombie book! I didn’t know what to expect but, boy, did it surprise me! Phoenix had everything I like about a female heroine, she was badass and strong. The zombie world with all the royalty and the political system and conspiracies created a whole mysterious and enthralling vibe to Taste. However, I really wanted Phoenix to choose someone who was obviously not the main love interest...more

Taste is a very intriguing book. My initial guess was Taste is going to be another cliched and boring vampire book BUT it is not about vampires nor was it cliche and boring. Far from it actually. Taste is about a student...more

I received a copy of TASTE for the blog tour hosted by Author's Angels.

This is a very unique story. It took me a little while to get into the storyline, but once I did it was hard to put it down. The world building is well done and Kate's take on the supernatural will certainly hold your attention. One of the things I most enjoyed about the book was the suspense. She does a great job of providing you with just enough information that you want to keep going. Sometimes when I read a paranormal or...more

I FELL IN LOVE with this book. Read it in one day, just could not put it down. The author has given me a diffrent side to paranormal books! This book is not a vampire, werewolf, witch book which is one reason I love it!

Well i will not tell you exactly what DemItri, Lucas, and the rest of the Night Students are but it surely isnt what you will expect them to be.

Kate shoves the audience into an entirely diffrent world, with diffrent rules, acceptable actions, and way of goverment. I ate it all up...more

Okay, I had been wanting to read this book for quite some time, I had to wait though until it finally became available on the nook, so one day cruising through B&N through my nook what do I find? Love has never been more dangerous.

This is a thrilling new romance that will leave you breathless. The impeccable writing and unforgettable characters kept me hooked from page 1. I couldn’t have asked for a better paranormal romance than this. The storyline is unique and was filled with plenty of twists and turns along the way that kept me on the edge of my seat.

I was so immersed in this story that I pulled an all nighter just to finish it. I had lots of fun figuring out the mystery of the flesh...more

I was given the opportunity to read Taste for an honest review of the book. I jumped at the chance as I had seen the book and it sounded intriguing. The plot revolves around a female student named Phoenix who discovers that her boarding school is harboring a society of zombies, formally Zhamvy. Phoenix’s curiosity of the Zhamvy and of the boy who rescues her from said zombies, Demitri, leads her to sneak into the school after hours to learn more about this secret society. With her life in danger...more

Review of Taste by Kate Evangelista
Four Stars

I don't do reviews often but when this popped up in my email, I wanted to review/read this book. The title caught my attention. Simple, attractive, and memorable.

Taste is a very sweet YA Paranormal Romantic novel, by Kate Evanglista. Taste was released April 30 of this year. It's not a super novel, so the 259 pages, (on my Ipad it says 332 pages) are manageable to read in a few hours, or days. After reading the whole book in four hours, I am pleased...more

This book was good, like REALLY GOOD! I just can’t get over just how amazing this book was! But, for the sake of this review, I will hold my insanity in and just continue.

Plot:The plot kept on thickening! It starts with danger and it just gets more intense every moment! Each moment was action packed and I couldn't tear my eyes from the pages. There was never a moment where there wasn't something interesting going on and I LOVED THAT!

Firstly I would like to thank Kate Evangelista for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

When I first read the summary I thought this would just be another book about vampires, and that genre is written about way too often. However, I was pleasantly surprised!

Kate creates a fascinating world that comes alive on the very first page. Phoenix attends Barinkoff Academy- a boarding school with two types of students: humans and those that are Zhamvy (flesh eaters). The humans are placed on a curfew- once the sun sets they have to be off campus. After being caught out after curfew Phoenix begins to have a lot of questions. Phoenix of course is the typical American having to know the answers to her questions. So she goes in search of those answers. She ends...more

I've seen reviews for Taste popping up all over the blogosphere and after hearing such great things about it, I just knew that I had to get my hands on a copy. I have just spent the entire morning whizzing through Taste and it was absolutely fantastic. It exceeded my expectations by far and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would give that 'zombies' (or any sort of flesh-eating creatures) are my least favourite supernatural creatures.

Taste really has a way of drawing the reader in. I was...more

When I started “Taste” I have to admit my first reaction was “Good only 350 pages” The plot line wasn’t really my cup of tea. After reading the first 20 pages my reaction was “Damn! Seriously only 350 pages!”. I wanted more. I wanted to know every little detail of the Zhamvy world, the history, the characters and so on.

The book automatically had me hooked. It kept me wanting to read “just one more chapter” at 12:00am.

The story is based on a young girl who has been sent to a boarding s...more

“Luka, the king—"
"Hail the king!" he playfully interrupted.
"Why does everyone say 'hail the king' every time I mention Darius?"
"Tradition." He winked at me from over his shoulder. A grin stretched my lips.
"So, if I say king—"
"Hail the king!"
I tried again. "King?"
