Here is the thing I like most about a Rosanna Leo book.....the light, fun-filled characters. She doesn't take herself too seriously and the reader feels that in the books.

Maia Douglas is a conservator in the Toronto Museum, specializing in early Greek studies. Her father had dragged her along on archaeological digs her entire life. When she was five her father discovered a rare statue of Eryx, The God of Love. Maia has been fascinated with Eryx ever since, so imagine her shock when the new direc...more

I read that this author loves stories where the geeky girl gets the gorgeous guy. Well so do I!

This story was sinfully sweet and funny as it follows geeky good girl Maia, a conservator for the Toronto Museum and lover of all things Grecian. Especially a certain gorgeous statue of the god of love, Eryx. Maia has been obsessed with him since the first time she laid eyes on him, at 5 years old. She's devoted her life to being near him. So imagine her surprise when she sees the human incarnation of...more

Title: For the Love of a God
Author: Rosanna Leoams
Format: eBook about 161 pgs
Genre: Paranormal Greek Mythology Romance
Cover: Well done 4 stars
Series: No, Stand alone

I love to read stories that include Greek Mythology and this story was not a disappointment. I read it in one sitting and found an author I will definitely be following and reading more of her books. I loved Maias’ character she is witty, nerdy but not naïve, she is smart and beautiful but still a lit...more

Review to follow.

For the Love of a God-
I gobbled it up in one setting. The flow of writing was so good, I was so immerse in the story,I completely lost track of the time.

First off--
love the cover, Maia clearly a geeky awkward museum conservtion expert with glasses and a chiseled chest hunky god Eryx. What a sexy provocative cover to catch your eye.

Second---
Story is very amusing with well-placed humor and witty one-liners.
It was nice to read about a lead female who is little insecure about herse...more

HOT TAMALES! This book starting with that sexy cover has provocative written all over it! Let me just point out that hard chiseled chest up there...yes you see it! You probably stared at it for a bit before scrolling down to read this...yes that is Eryx god of love. That picture doesn't come close to how sensuous the descriptions are in this book. Rosanna Leo has the art of lovemaking scenes down packed! *fans herself* Seriously. Down. Packed.
This book wasn't all sex okay. It had some great su...more

I absolutely found this book to be adorable. It was a quick, fun, and delightful read.

In the beginning of the book you have the Greek Gods Dionysus and Eryx bickering to each other that the god of wine “Dionysus” spends too much time gallivanting around with his booze and ladies, while the god of love “Eryx” wastes his time posing as mortals in the human realm pretending to be either a museum curator, professor, writer, or archaeologist. He just wants to ensure that the humans are doing the Gree...more

I received this book free for an honest review. All in all I liked this book. Wanted to like it more, but there was just something missing, don't know...can't put my finger what exactly it is thou. It just didn't sweep me away. The story moved at a decent pace, I liked the leads, and there was lots of steamy parts. Plenty of action, self sacrifice and good triumphing over evil. If I could have I would have given it 3 1/2 stars. It is a short fun read, perfect for an afternoon escape. Thank you f...more

What a clever read that integrates a modern museum curator with a not-so-modern incarnation of a Greek god. The mix of myth and modern day is always an interesting one, full of potential missteps and pitfalls, and loaded with all of the carnal pleasures the gods are prone to sampling.

In this book, the heroine Maia is faced with her fantasies come to life, as the god of Love, Eryx, she has crushed on for years appears as the new director of her division at the Toronto museum in the form of Eric....more

First off let me say this about For the Love of God, Yikes, I think I need a cold shower. Rosanna Leo has written a scorching hot erotic romance about the Greek god Eryx and a mortal woman by the name of Maia. Now, just mentioning the words GREEK GOD should give you an idea of just how hot this guy is, and if that isn’t enough, did I mention he is the god of love?
Eryx, who goes by the name of Eric Lord while among mortals on Earth, is not the typical lecherous Greek god of old. He has all but s...more

How are the sex scenes?

They are HOT.
Details are not spared, so you feel as though you are experiencing the same ecstasy as the lovers.

How are the story lines?

Fun. In some ways it’s a sordid love triangle, but in many ways it’s just a well written love story with witty one-liners, suspense and, of course, drop dead gorgeous Greek gods!! (literally!) The story is not meant to be believable, so read it if y...more

Face it! We’ve all stood before a fine Greek marble statue (or saw one in a picture) and did a little dreamy fantasizing of what that statue would look like live and standing before us. Some might even take that dream a little further- knock yourself out! But what if-

That was sort of what happened to awkward, geeky museum conservation expert, Maia Douglas. Well actually what really happened was that the Greek god Eryx (whom I’m more familiar with as Eros) and his Olympian family really exist and...more

First of all...I snatched this book up before ever really knowing what it was about because of the beautiful cover! The title was enticing and the sneek peek I read made me want to devour this read. There were several things that I really enjoyed about this story. First of all the heroine is full-figured and corky. I love that she is smart and determined, but has a shy, funny side as well. At work she is all business, but at home she can't even keep a plant green! Thanks to a little godly help,...more

First off, let me state that I am a very happily married woman. So when I say that I want an Eryx for myself, that is saying something about him. This is a fun romp with gods and mortals, with a female character I liked so much. Maia Douglas is a conservator at the Toronto Museum, specializing in the Greek era. She is intelligent, self deprecating, messy and very nearly obsessed with all things Greek, particularly the statue that stands in the Greek hal...more

I loved this book!

When I first saw become available on the R2R, I knew I'd have to jump at the chance to read it, and I definitely wasn't disappointed!

From the start, Rosanna Leo had me hooked. I loved the story line, I loved reading about the gods, which made for an awesome story line and most importantly I LOVED listening to the gods argue (especially Eryx and Dionysius!), so funny and entertaining.

To kind of jump off of that my two favorite characters were Eryx and Dionysius. Eryx was becomin...more

This was a great fun read. It really was. The characters were fun and spunky. Maia was a fireball and I loved that about her. I'm geeky myself, so the fact that she got a God and the son of the Goddess of Love, had me needing out.

Maia works at a museum and is about to meet her new boss. She has grown attached to the statue of the God Eryx. When she comes into work one day, her coworkers inform her that the new boss is in. Maia finally sees him and BOOM. Exact replica of Eryx.

Eryx has sworn off...more

I’m surprised how much I enjoyed this book since it isn’t my usual pick. If my only exposure to this novel was a blurb on Amazon, I probably wouldn’t have chosen it. I’m not a huge fan of the Greek Gods in Paranormal Romance. I’m not sure why, but I’ve stayed away from those storylines. Well, Goodreads is broadening my horizons once again. After a few good friends read and loved this book, I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did, because I loved it. It wasn’t at all what I expected. For so...more

4.5 Stars Hades hath no fury like a bunny-boiler scorned.

Highly enjoyable and entertaining romantic comedy.
For me this was the book equivalent of a feel-good chic-flick you'd watch with your girlfriends. Yes, it's a bit silly and cheesy and predictable and the distressed damsel swoons regularly (yes literally) into the hero's waiting arms, but the characters are so engaging and the witty banter so entertaining that you really just don't care.
Leo's writing style is a joy to read.

Maia Douglas is an expert on ancient Greece, its mythology and she is in love with a statue. The statue of Eryx, Greek god of love has been at the museum since Maia’s dad worked there. Eryx has been visiting museums for decades, posing as Eric Lord. When Maia sees him, she automatically thinks he looks like Eryx but everyone knows Gods aren’t real, right? Eric has sworn off women because he has one that he can’t seem to shake. He finds himself having to protect Maia vengeful goddess who will not...more

I adored this book though I felt sad that Eryx had to give up his immortality and couldn't get it back! Surely there should have been some way for him to get it back like maybe give him Nemesis's immortality as fair trade! Still, in some way's he's probably happier as a mortal but only because he was convinced that Maia wouldn't want to be a goddess. I loved Maia's friends Sheila and Dino, espeacially Dino, he had me in stiches with some of the things that came out of his mouth! So did Dionyis!...more

For the Love of a God

The Greek Gods still exist, even if not fully remembered. They are not just fairy tales or stories but based on truths. Eyrx, the son or Ares and Aphrodite, is a god of love. He and his cousin, Dionysus, went through time sleeping with women, drinking and just having fun. When Eryx sees a devoted follower, a priestess of his temple, he becomes infatuated with her. He actually starts to care for her. It grows into something more than lust. Nemesis, one of Zeus's daughters has...more

I won a copy of this book in a competition from the author a while ago. I'm just sorry that I haven't managed to read it sooner, as I absolutely loved it!

Maia is a fantastic character. She is a feisty, head-strong woman, who happens to have a crush on a statue of Eryx, the Grecian god of love. When the new director of the museum, Eric Lord, arrives, Maia is completely thrown by his more than passing resemblance to her beloved statue.

Eric Lord is Eryx, the god of love. He is also a fantastic char...more

This book is about the Greek god Eryx. After the goddess Nemesis was turned down by him, she decided that she loved him and he would pay for turning her down. After many loses in love, Eryx decides to be celibate and help mortals conserve the Greek god/goddess history, until he meets Maia. This is a story of building love, learning the true meaning of love and sacrifice, and how to believe in the things you can't touch.

I really enjoyed this story. The characters were well developed. I wanted to...more

God awful, all puns intended.

Maia, who I think is is supposed to be a bumbling professor (like whats-her-name in the Mummy movies) seems seriously emotionally and socially crippled...and not in an endearing way. Many of her personality "quirks" come across as the bitchy things the Mean Girls or insecure men say about women when they want to make fun of them in public. I felt uncomfortably and full of pity when I should have felt connected to her ineptness. At no point did I see anything (yes, o...more

Maia loves her job at the museum as conservator. She actually loves her job a bit much, well one of the statues. She has an infatuation with Eryx the God of Love. A new museum head is coming in with a bad reputation for cleaning house.

The first in Rosanna Leo's Greek-god inspired books. (I read this out of order, having read the book on Dionysus first). I really enjoy the way the author blends bits of the classic Greek tales with a modern-day twist. The scene in the museum where Nemesis comes to life - with all the creepy details she controlled - one of my favorite scenes in the book. I enjoyed the love story between Maia and Eryx, and it was nice to be introduced to Dionysus again. (I'm actually hoping for a book with Artemi...more

I have no idea why it took me so long to read this book. It's been on my list since last year. I'm glad I finally got around to it. :)

I'm sorry, but I just need to get this out of the way first. I usually have a very hard time reading books based on Greek mythology. It's a subject very dear to me and I've been studying it since I was a child. So many stories that use Greek mythology either deliberately change things or outright get them wrong (don't even get me started on the travesty of Disney'...more

A fun, refreshing that manages to embody many different dichotomies within it. It's funny and serious, playful and suspenseful, reverent and irreverent, heartwarming and heartbreaking often at the same time, and the list could probably go on. Just when you think you know what to expect next, Ms. Leo takes it into an unexpected turn, keeping you guessing as to how it's going to play out right up till the end.

At first glance Maia seems to be your stereotypical scholarly nerd woman. She's more at h...more

“Sweetie,” Dino said, coming over to put his arm around her shoulder. He tipped her head up and looked into her eyes with great empathy. “You can’t fuck a statue. At least not at that angle. You’d at least have to tip it onto its back first, and as a conservator, I can’t recommend it.” 3 people liked it
