I didn't have a good time reading the last few M/M romance titles and felt slightly burn out with what this genre could offer. So, I was a bit weary when I picked up this title, for two reasons. One, I never read anything by Keira Andrews (so, she's a new author for me). Two, I'm not big on spy stories.

Turns out that this story packs a punch and delivers WAY beyond my expectation. It's true that I'm not big on spy stories -- but there are some spy movies I love, Casino Royale (Daniel Cr...more

Minus half a star because of Sebastian's naívete in the beginning. Even I am not that stupid! And I'm not a genius with mathematics, you know.
Just a little bit predictable, but it's good anyway. Both main characters are very likeable. Well developed.

Will reread. And I want more.

THIS is the book I was hoping Every Move He Makes would be. I got the action and romance I was looking for. And there was actual chemistry between the mc's. HIGHLY recommended!!

Review Summary: A James Bond-like adventure with a world-saving quest, determined assassins, and hot smexxing, culminating in true love and a satisfying happy ever after (with room for a sequel).

Review: Psychology studies have found that experiencing fear (or, more specifically, adrenaline rush) with someone is a great shortcut to developing intense romantic feelings for them. There are even matchmaking services that take advantage of that phenomenon and have people go on “daredevil” dates toget...more

Kyle Grant is a spy for the Association, an international anti-terrorism outfit. Sebastian Brambani is the gay son of crime boss, Arrigo Brambani. Sebastian is home from Harvard and on dad's sh*t list after an embarrassing expose of pictures of him and his roommate Peter hit the web. When Sebastian is easily seduced by Kyle's suave moves and tricked into giving up the security code to dad's office, Arrigo has had enough. With Sebastian's unwitting help, Kyle thought that he had acquired...more

This story is fun and action-packed. Sebastian has returned home to Italy in disgrace after some explicit photos of him and a male friend appeared on the net. At a lavish party put on by his strict mafioso father, Sebastian is seduced into opening his father's study by a suave older American operative who is undercover looking for a mysterious and lethal substance known as the Chimera. His vicious father's reaction is to have Sebastian killed but at the last moment he is rescued by his seducer,...more

I decided to read this book after finished another one with some action which made me want to read more of spies and agents and things like that. This was a nice surprise. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did. Both character were very likable and had interesting personalities. Sebastian is still very young and somehow naive about what his father really does for a living. Kyle is a spy all business and no emotions. There's an immediate and strong attraction between them that gets...more

The Chimera Affair is one fast-paced, sexy, action-filled story. I was wholeheartedly engaged from start to finish. Sebastian and Kyle are absolutely fabulous together. The chemistry between them is what really put the thrill in this thriller. I wasn’t expecting to have such a good time reading this story but I enjoyed every word. The characterization is well done. Sebastian is a young man who believes in love, desperately wants it since it’s been missing in his life. When he meets the older Kyl...more

Loved it. Seriously, it's been such a long time since I've read a good action-oriented book (let alone a good MM action book) that I've forgotten what they're supposed to be like. And this one was fantastic. It's a very cinematic little spy caper through Europe, and it's so good. Or maybe it's not good and I'm just blinded by how much I liked it. The writing is great, the pacing is fantastic, I even liked the characters, and it was all very exciting. I didn't want it to end. But of course, it di...more

Now that was full of fun, what a great book! If you like stories with intrigue, adventure and romance, that has a bit of humor. One that has a super sexy spy with an equally sexy nerd who becomes more as the adventure goes and has so much chemistry between them I thought they'd melt my kindle, I think you’ll like this story. There isn’t a lot of on page sex but what there is of it is perfect, it’s not just there to add to the word count.

Kyle is a spy and on the hunt for a weapon called...more

This review was originally written for The Romance Reviews and can also be found there.

Running with guns firing behind them, getting out of near death situations and thinking through the most impossible scenarios just to stay alive has pretty much been Kyle and Sebastian's life from the moment they first met.

Sebastian had the rug pulled underneath him and his whole world turned upside down right after he met the perfect man. It was the last mistake his father was willing to allow, and scared for...more

Excellent Book. I was in the mood for something fun to read and this one really fit the bill nicely. Full of adventure, mystery and suspense. There are spy's and assassins, car chases and dodging bullets. This book had a very fast pace to it that kept me riveted the whole time I was reading it. It is very rare for me to find a good M/M action adventure novel to read and to actually like. This one will definitely be going on my favorite reads list.

Eh. Meh. Idk, man. Idk.

I mean, it's kind of good-ish, but it also seems to have a general feel of "not quite there."

I dunno. It's kind of standard fare spy-asset material.

Man, what I really wanted was to know more about Chimera. Are you kidding me? That fucking thing is the fucking mother of all WMD's, man. Who wouldn't want to know more?

So, I guess final verdict is "meh."

I didn't see much difference between the good and the bad guys(both sides wanted Sebastian dead because he knew to much!). If I didn't have high expectations of this book, I might have rated it differently but I was somewhat disapointed that the romance happened pretty fast and then come the big adventure. I put this book down and read other stories, that should tell you something since this is a thriller!

Writing is nice but I didn't really conect to the characters or got into the story...more

And action....

Action-packed and fast paced thriller with too many sex scenes interrupting the flow.
One of those books where the characters could be put through the meat grinder and they would still fuck like bunnies.
Enjoyable when disbelief got thrown out of the window...with oomph! ;-)

The book does what is says on the tin: it's a Bond-like adventure spy erotica m/m novel. Not only does it do what it advertises but it does it very well -- hot sex scenes, chemistry off the charts between the protags, and plenty of action/adventure to go with that sex. Bonus points? Character growth! A great summer read for those who like this flavor of m/m erotica!

I love an ememies-to-lovers type of story, and this one didn’t disappoint. Sebastian and Kyle were great characters, and the plot was action packed. Definitely a page turner. The sex was also super hot. Great chemistry between the guys, and I was really rooting for them. I loved this book and hope to see a sequel in the future.

This was an exciting, fast-paced adventure. Even though it stretches the bounds of credulity, it was still an enjoyable ride. The story had good characters, an engaging plot and hot sex scenes. I love when characters that are often seen as weak by others are actually proven quite strong. This was definitely the case with Sebastian. He was so smart and such a good person. Through the trials forced upon him, Sebastian dug deep and found physical and emotional strength he didn’t know he h...more

Plot makes me happy. Very delicious hot sex makes me happy. Cute boy and older man makes me happy. Secondary female character who is not a bitch makes me happy.

Getting a sequel will make me happy too.

4.5 stars. This James Bond-like thriller definitely hit all my action-adventure-romance-m/m buttons in one go. Really really fun read, quick pacing, and interesting, engaging, and sexy main characters with great chemistry. I appreciated that Sebastian wasn’t so helpless, and often his ingenuity would surprise Kyle-the-super-Spy. Sometimes I did question the sexy times happening (like, "Really, guys? Sexy times now?") But whatever-—more fun to go with the flow on this one. The ending leaves a pot...more

Loved it. There was the perfect mix between romance and suspense/spy stuff. Thrills and chills all the way thru. It was great.

Very good m/m romantic suspense about a spy who uses a young man's naivete in his pursuit of keeping a biochemical weapon out of the hands of terrorists, but then feels sufficiently guilty that he rescues the young man in the nick of time. And then things started to get interesting. :)

I liked the developing relationship for the most part, but the plot is lame ... enough so to be irritating.

I loved Seb & Kyle. Kyle was dreamy as the ultimate super spy. I laughed every time the black duffle bag was mentioned, seriously, it was a side character. I was worried about it and wondered where it was during last big epic showdown, lol! I thought Seb was going to be a spoiled useless little brat, I'm so glad to be wrong. I really enjoyed the story and it played like a movie in my mind. I just wish there was a little bit of info on Ben and the Director.

Adventure, hot sex, funny bits. I hope this will be the first in a series.

“How did you start?” Sebastian asked.
Kyle met his gaze. “Start what?”
“Being a spy, or whatever job title you people have these days. Espionage technician?”

After writing for years yet never really finding the right inspiration, Keira discovered her voice in gay romance, which has become a passion. She writes both contemporary and historical fiction and — although she loves delicious angst along the way — Keira firmly believes in happy endings. For as Oscar Wilde once said:

The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.
