I put this book down 6 times and on the 7th attempt decided to plow through it and seek its message. I thought this book to be a tad windy at times and would make one suggestion to the author...please, there is no need to repeat or convince me that all will be worth it if I stick it out and follow you on your journey of enlightenme...more First and foremost I won this selected book as a free giveaway on Goodreads and took the responsibility of reading the book and reviewing it once I was done seriously!

I put this book down 6 times and on the 7th attempt decided to plow through it and seek its message. I thought this book to be a tad windy at times and would make one suggestion to the author...please, there is no need to repeat or convince me that all will be worth it if I stick it out and follow you on your journey of enlightenment. I got the book and made no judgement on it and made a commitment to read it, enough said!

The author promises a great revelation/miracle will be unleashed at the end of this book....but who can really say what happens when we leave this earth and ascend to the next, no one has survived death!

Clement references two new age books: 'The Urantia Book' (pub 1955) and 'A Course of Miracles' (pub 1976), to explain the many great and wonderful gifts that await us in paradise. I have not read either book so I can not give any account of what they are about.

He neatly encapsulates every major religion, astronomy, astrology, evolution and history to show the decline of humankind and the lessons that we have failed to learn.

Though I felt lost at times and conceptually stupid, there were absolute ideas that I agree with; we as a human race do not live according to Gods rules! We were given free will and that is a huge gift to have the ability to use it for good and yes sometimes we don't use it very well.

We should be embracing our differences and EVERYONE should be treated with respect, support and celebrated as fellow human beings. We should stop fighting and imposing our will and opinions on others and find our way to becoming an enlightened, well rounded individual.

I also agree with his statement that people create their own hell, because I do not believe in a place called hell. We bring about what we think about and we have the ability (Free Will) to change the things in our life that we do not like, jobs that are not for us and how people treat us.

So basically this book is about (not to take any of the passion that the author has about this subject away, for it took him 14 years to complete this book)having a mind set that is loving, forgiving and looking inside yourself and deciding how you want to live your life on this planet.

But fear not, if your not a complete human being, once you land in paradise all your inadequacies will be made whole by God and you will find your place in the universe and all will be revealed!

On a side note the cover of the book is very nice, the author also has a brief clip on youtube to promote his book, check it out. I also received a very nice note that was separate from the book itself, which I thought was incredibly sincere. I found that his devotion to his wife and kids was very nice.

However, I read a review from a Christian woman who had read the book and she put up red flags for me. When I first began to read the introduction I saw one sentence that really concerned me! Yet I am asking Him that my will be His." WHOA!!! I have NEVER read anywhere in the Bible that God should ever, under any circumstance, make our will HIS. Okay, that literally frightened me into not wanting to read this book.

I guess you could say that I picked at it. The author had a nice note asking that the reader does not skip ahead but to "trust that [he has] a new understanding to share." Personally I have learned never to lean on the understanding of man, but rather to live by every word of God. But I kept reading anyway, wondering if Clement would "confess" to some revelation other than the ones in the book. I'm sorry to say that his book and his "revelations" and his understanding of God as I know my creator are too different for me to "trust" him to take the journey Clements asks his readers to take with him.

As I make my way through the book, I reach page 163 where Clements states, "The great problem for the Christian is that their faith is based on the fact of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, but the records...are imperfect." He also said that it was "painfully evident" that Jesus would never have said, "Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword" Matthew 10:34. At reading the word "sword" he closed the Bible and concluded that "Jesus would never have said this." What???

All I can say is that I am a strong Christian woman, I DO believe that Christ died, was resurrected, and is our way to eternal salvation given to us by the grace of God.

I am not sure to whom I would recommend this book other than those who study various books written about religion, spirituality, or who are still looking for their answers to life. As for me, I know that I can only trust God's word, the Bible.

Clements did have some good things to say regarding God and the Bible, so for that I gave him 2 stars. (less)

First Read Win. I recommend this book to everyone. SO you should just read it cause I said so!!! It was very intriguing and you learn lesson's of life throughout this book. It was a decent paced read, so overall good.

Had I been in a bookstore or had the opportunity to peruse a sample chapter of this book, I never would have brought it home. But since I won it on Goodreads, I have an understood obligation to read and review it.

But since I won it on Goodreads, I have an understood obligation to read and review it.

That being said, a chain of events transpired. I received the book along with a personal note from the author—a nice touch. The book was autographed by the author—another nice touch. The cover art was well done—it almost depicted a vision of what Zion might look like. But then I noticed the subtle orbs and solar systems, galaxies, and heavenly bodies that dominated the view. I began to wonder…

I opened the book to find this description, The Book of Ernest [a revelation, a miracle, and a man] by Ernest Clement. I quickly read the Acknowledgement and Preface and moved on to the Introduction, when there it was—the source of the book—The Urantia Book and A Course in Miracles. NEW AGE religion screamed a stern warning!

My first thought was to mail the book back to the author. Since I know how hard and time-consuming it is to write a book, I reasoned that mailing the book back was an inappropriate thing to do. Ernest Clement obviously put his heart and soul into the writing of his 382-page book that took fourteen years to write. After much soul-searching and prayer, I decided to give the author his respect due and read the book. But to be honest, I had to quit reading it on page 31. I wanted to give the author the benefit of the doubt but when he quoted an excerpt from The Urantia Book, my spirit cried out another warning!

In the first 31 pages of this book, I felt like I was reading some science fiction novel written by Edward R. Murrow. Talk of the Universe Urantia, Nebadon, Havona, the Sacred Spheres of Paradise, Orvonton, the Seven Master Spirits, and approximately one trillion inhabitable worlds with such unequivocal authority, left me feeling quite uneasy. You see, although I have never heard of The Urantia Book, I have read A Course in Miracles (ACiM.) I am well aware of what it is all about after having spent several months attending weekly ACiM gatherings in people's homes just for knowledge's sake.

But when I read this referenced quote from The Urantia Book, "I portray the reality and truth of the Father's nature and attributes with unchallengeable authority; I know whereof I speak," I had to put the book down. After doing some research, I found that no one knows who wrote The Urantia Book and all its combined papers. IF it is to be held with such strict authority, and is so infallible and exact, why is it that the author and/or authors found the need to remain anonymous? Does science know anything of the just mentioned sacred spheres and one trillion inhabitable worlds? While The Holy Bible may leave some people questioning its authority and chain of events, it was written by multiple named authors, incidents were verified by more than one person, and science continually unearths physical artifacts to prove its truth. Where is the reality and truth of Urantia, Nebadon, Havona, Orvonton, Satania, and all the superuniverses spoken of with such jurisdiction in The Book of Ernest?

To be fair, after a couple of weeks I decided to keep reading. I made it up to page 86 and skim-read other parts of the book but just couldn't finish it. In those pages I was told that I am a descendant of twin primates who "suddenly gave birth to the first two human beings," and was told of celestial incarnates and the "surgical infusion of life plasm." Really? Has science ever been able to prove evolution? I'm sorry—if man had "evolved" from primates they would not exist anymore because they would have evolved. You know—survival of the fittest and all that. While I do not believe in evolution and never will in the Darwin-sense, nor has science ever been able to prove it, I am not here to start an evolutionary debate.

Reading about "our history" given through such explicit accounting of 900 billion, 400 billion, 200 billion, 6 billion, 4 and half billion, one billion, and 550 million years ago detail, left me wanting to pick up the phone and call in a life line. Where is any of this proven in history? And to say that we are "world number 606 in our system of Satania, which will have 1000 worlds," to say that "why our world is not divisible by 10 is left 'unexplained'", and that "man's missing link is left 'unsaid'", left me thinking that all this explicit detail is indeed quite inexplicable. How this book can break "our history" down to some exact number such as "There are exactly 21 billion Counselors, three billion for each superuniverse" and then use such words as "unexplained," "unsaid," "destiny yet unrevealed," "suddenly," "just happened," and "subject to speculation," is beyond me.

If you are into mortal ascenders, Perfecters of Wisdom, Universal Censors, Thought Adjusters, midwayers, the Corps of Mortal Finaliters, and transcending into Salvington, "the next level of universe administration in the minor sector of the superuniverse, consisting of 100 local universes" while on your way from minor sector Ensa to major sector Splandon—all in the name of non-fiction—perhaps this is the book for you. As for me, I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and that the Bible is the true inerrant Word of God. [Rev. 19:9] But then, that's my God-given right. Isn't free will marvelous?(less)

First off I would like to say that I admire Ernest Clement for taking a subject that is obviously dear to his heart and dedicating years to researching in order to put it all out there for the world to share. On his website it says “His intent is to inspire humanity and contribute to the return to Love”. I found that statement to be very tender and used it as a reminder to keep an open mind while I was reading. The Book of Ernest touches on several different facets of humanity. It also takes the reader through a brief summary, from the view point of the author, in regards to two other books. Those two books are The Urantia Book (1955) and A Course in Miracles (1975). Clement refers to them as the revelation and the miracle and considers both to be artifacts of history. The entire book is based on his personal beliefs in spirituality, humanity, economics and the planet. At first it almost read like a journal to me that shifted in to a review style of writing but throughout it was injected with Ernest Clements own beliefs, views, journey and thoughts. I will say the book is well written from a technical stand point and the well thought out.

This was no easy read for me and at some points I even had to do some research myself just to try and keep up with Clements book. I was fascinated by things I have never heard of before such as Lanonandek Sons, seven steps to approaching God, Caligastia, the detailed story of the beginning and so much more. With that said it didn’t sway my own personal beliefs but did trigger something in me to do further research while I was reading. I can appreciate a book that solicits a reaction of needing to know more from its reader. There were parts of the book that I reacted that way to and others that I didn’t find interesting or found repetitive. Another feature I found interesting was found in the back of the book, the appendix tables and glossary, because as I said before this was no easy read for me and I find that having that information available to reference was a nice touch.

I would recommend this book to readers that have an interest in New Age ideals or that are open minded to different approaches to religion. This book is not for anyone that is set in their religious beliefs or are firm believers that there is no higher celestial being or God because that would just lead to critical judgments and often an array of bashing the author for putting himself out there. I think Ernest Clements shared what he believes to be his life changing work honestly and openly. For that reason again I have to commend him.

This book really isn't my type of book. It is too spiritual for my taste. However, if you are interested in religious or spiritual books, then you should really like this book. It's very easy-to-read and very informative.
