This has been my favorite Magic Tree House book so far. I love that every book teaches in a fun way. This book answered all of Hannah's questions in regards to vocabulary... in a way that she understands. For example:
"If the killing does not end, they both face extinction."
Hannah asked "What's extinction?"
The very next sentence said "Extinction means that someday there may be no Indian tigers or rhinos left on earth."

It was an okay book. But I kind of forget what it was about. Wasn't too memorable. If I look at the pictures I have a better idea. But sometimes it seems like you have to read them in somewhat order or else you'll not exactly know what's going on...although you don't really have to read them in order necessarily.
But this one seemed a little like Afternoon on the Amazon (#6 I think)...which we are currently reading now. Just switch that with a different scenery and you kind of have a si More...

This book has a puppy and two kids named Jack and Annie. They go to a magic tree house. They have a couple steps they have to do so they can get rid of a spell on their puppy. They pick a book off of a bookshelf and point to a picture and say, "I want to go there!"
Jack and Annie go to India and there are monkeys called langurs that chatter. There was an elephant with an Indian name. I found this book interesting because the puppy was cute and I liked their adventure to India.

This adventure was far scarier than the Amazon adventure back in Book #6. I loved the swinging from the trees and the fleeing from the deadly fire-ants. When the tiger jumps out, I was nervous for Jack and Annie, especially since the cover art portrays the moment so well.
I really got a kick out of the two monkeys that acted as tour guides and the hermit was a key character in helping Jack and Annie receive a gift so they could free Teddy from a spell.

My 4 yo and I are enjoying these short early chapter books. There is just enough adventure and danger to make a good story he can follow, as well as enough for me to enjoy. The bonus is these are "edutainment," so we both learn a few new facts. There are Monkeys, Tigers and various other critter discussed as Jack and Annie continue to help Teddy break his magic spell. There is discussion of illegal poaching in this book, but done gently.

I thought it was cool because like all magic tree house books this is just like how I remember it.And how I remember it is that Jack and Annie they found all these different types of animals.

I'm obviously too old for these books, [I'm 16] but they're like a guilty pleasure. I'm rating it three stars because they are basic and repetitive. However, they're great books for little kids!

Jack and Annie are sucked into the magic tree house and brought to the forest in India. Jack and Annie have to solve the problem dealing with poachers before it is too late for the tigers. This would be a good book for first or second graders to read for fun and excitement.

It was great and I think all kids that can read should read it. It is a story about a magical treehouse with a lot of books.

(youth review)I like tigers. They are wild and I'd be scared to meet one but they are fun to read about. ~Kevin, MIS, 3rd grade

Tigers at Twilight is the third in a miniseries where Jack and Annie have to find four gifts to help an enchanted dog. The dog they met on the Titanic and has since been following them through their adventures.
For their "gift from a forest far" they travel to a remote part of India where they befriend langur monkeys, ride on some elephants, get followed by a tiger and meet a swami.
It's a good introduction to the animals of the Indian jungle but like Lions at Lun More...

My kids loved this book. They never wanted me to stop reading it to them. They really enjoyed listening about the animals and the adventure that jack and annie went through in the jungle.

Its really good! As well as being a good fiction novel, it tells you a bit about animals too. I learnt that tigers sharpen their claws on trees and many other things.

Jack and Annie go to India and meet Langur monkeys, see tigers, ride elephants, play in the river and meet an old Indian hermit who gives them their next gift.
