I actually went into this one a bit angry based on reading Mephisto's perspective in the last book.

I found this one pleasantly surprising.

The fact that Molly didn't fall immediately into a relationship with Mephisto felt really right. He didn't deserve it and she had more than earned a chance to try to make it on her own. And she needed to take a chance with Eliot as well.

Of course, I think it is fair to point out a couple of things.

In many ways, Molly was like Yugoslavia after World War II. And...more I actually went into this one a bit angry based on reading Mephisto's perspective in the last book.

I found this one pleasantly surprising.

The fact that Molly didn't fall immediately into a relationship with Mephisto felt really right. He didn't deserve it and she had more than earned a chance to try to make it on her own. And she needed to take a chance with Eliot as well.

Of course, I think it is fair to point out a couple of things.

In many ways, Molly was like Yugoslavia after World War II. And Clayton was her Marshal Tito. Neither of them actually fixed anything - they just suppressed the turmoil for a time. Without them, chaos reigned.

And Clayton really put way too much faith on Mephisto being there for her. He left her with nothing. No friends. No family. A staff that couldn't wait to get the hell out of there at the first opportunity. Even the scenes at the club - I never got the impression that she connected with anyone besides Mephisto. It was a very dangerous game. Even if he had wanted to take her as his own the very night Clayton died, there were too many real world things like the funeral in the way.

About the pain thing: I must admit that as much as I complained about the scenes in my Club Mephisto review, they worked this time. It was like Molly somehow started channeling the lead character from Owning Wednesday. I really think it was the emotional connection that finally worked for me in the scenes that I never felt was there before.

My favorite scene was actually the roleplay scene. The first time she was with Mephisto, I don't think she would have been capable of improvising dialogue on the fly because she would have been working so hard to figure out what he wanted her to say she would have been tongue-tied. And the old Molly would never have been able to giggle the way she did. :)

Finally, I felt Mephisto actually grew up in this book much more than I expected. There was actually a real adult in there after all.

All in all, a picture perfect ending to the story.(less)

How did I love this book? Let me count the ways. Firstly - this book has achieved what both of the other books lacked and that is balance. Balance in the lifestyle and balance in the emotions of the characters. I feel as if both the other books were like a prelude or first course and this is the main meal. Second - FINALLY FINALLY I actually developed some level of appreciation for Molly. If I dig deep down my loathing of her (or at least dislike) stems from the fact I tend to have a similar personality. I, like Molly, tend to extremes. If I do something I do it 180%. So it is not like I cannot relate to her - it is that I want her to rise above what she thinks she can do and do what I know she can do. Here she makes that leap. Granted she does it with a less than gentle shove from Mephisto - but she gets there to the place where the journey truly begins as an exploration of who she is. The book masterfully handles this and you very much get the idea it is a work in progress and she will persevere and she will survive and thrive.

Thirdly Mephisto grows, changes, develops into someone you can really respect, understand, and yes love. He is complete and completed by Molly. He was patience personified, reasonable and provides the foil Molly needs to finally grow herself.

I never did like Clayton at all whatsoever so fourthly it just reinforces for me that Clayton was, in many ways, a class A jerk. He had some redeeming qualities but they cannot make up for this almost heartless feel you get about him. He sees Molly not as a true partner with her own needs and wants but merely an object to satisfy his own. I kept thinking he could of just as easily had a sexbot built to take care of his needs. Then towards the end when the depth of him was revealed I felt only pity - for what he could of had if he had but realized it.

In the end it all comes down to balance. The emotions that Molly and Mephisto go through, the way he pushes her into exploring herself so she is not rebounding with him. What happens at the end - I felt like it was complete. Here at last is the HEA we all wanted and felt like Mephisto deserved. It was a real pleasure to read this one!

Her grief ripped me in two. I had tears more times in this book, then a lot of books I have read. I laughed and felt so much joy. This is the love story for the masochist in all of us. It was an adventure of the heart, soul, and mind. I can’t really put into words what this book did for me. It is hard to review a book I loved this intensely.

It is not just the story, but the writing is connecting. I feel into the world, and I was watching. An invisible figure following around these characters; their troubles and fears, their love and lose. God, I feel in love, in lust, and in heartache. Annabel didn’t miss a beat. I could tell, that in her heart, she knew these characters, and she bleed out their story on the page for us. These were characters invented in HER mind, and she gave us a gift. Without this story, I would have felt incomplete. I would have forever been trolling in the hopes she would give us more Molly and Mephisto. I have to say, I like Molly the Molly better than Molly the slavegirl 24/7. She was an engaging woman, that if she lost that part of her spirit, she would have felt forever incomplete.

What a journey, what a incredible story. I can’t tell too much without giving the game away. All I will say, in hopes that Ms. Joseph reads this. The labor scene and the ‘dubious consent’ roleplay were by far my favorite! Got and it even gave me ideas! I don’t read stories again very often. I just don’t have the time with my ever growing list of books to read. But this series, I plan on reading to my husband at night. He likes when I read to him, and this is up next. I have told him, and I told him he will recognize a little bit of use in Burn For You. Because there is so much of me in Molly, and finding the balance in someone like me, that would thrive in a TPE, but doesn’t want to lose the ‘fiery’ personality.

What an amazingly emotional, lovely story! This is a follow-on story to Club Mephitso/Molly's Lips. But, she was happy.

Now that Molly’s Master is gone, the plan is for her to go to Mephisto, the owner of a BDSM club and close friend of Clayton’s, however, things don’t go exactly as planned. She goes through a growth period where we really see the depth of her character as she discovers who she is and what she wants.

This is a very emotional time for Molly, and for Mephisto as well. Mephisto has wanted Molly for many years, wishing he had taken her as his own slave instead of guiding her toward Clayton. He has long questioned whether she was truly happy with Clayton, essentially being his sex toy only. I think Mephisto’s character grew and matured in this book too. Sure, he was still a strict Master himself and a deliciously cruel sadist, but he was also very patient and understanding of Molly, guiding her on the right path but never pressuring her into a relationship with him. He was smart, and he knew it had to be Molly’s decision to come to him for it to work.

BURN FOR YOU was a beautiful and bittersweet story. All of the Molly/Mephisto books were emotional reads for me, but this last book touched me on a deeper lever. What can I say? I’m crazy about kinky love stories. Annabel Joseph understands the complexities of power exchange relationships and the people who live in them, and she masterfully brings them to life in her books. BURN FOR YOU could be read stand-alone, but I recommend reading all three beginning with CLUB MEPHISTO. Trust me, it will make Molly and Mephisto’s happily-ever-after so much sweeter.(less)

I did not read the 1.5 version of this series.. I dont really find the other person POV with the same event very interesting.. So I went for Club Mephisto straight to Burn for you.

I like Molly I really do but Meohisto is a dick.. I only like him at the beginning when he was friends with Molly and honestly wanted to take care of her.

I was really diappointed when she went back to being a slave especially after she laid down all those rules to him. I thought their relationship could be more equal....more

Wow, it was intense in a good way. While I didn't like the prequel to this book, I loved this one.

I know we're supposed to accept other people's kink even if it's not our cup of tea. But I just can't get over Clayton's treatment of Molly, or should I say 'girl'. No wonder she broke after his death. I would have been more surprised if she hadn't.

Her time with Mephisto changes her permanently and you have a feeling that she secretly burns for him as much as he burns for her.
Moving on to this book, Molly loses her master, reason in the above spoiler don't read if you don't want to know.
So this book is really an emtional Journey. Molly loses her whole existence for living, she lived for her Master, she was his, she was a complete masochist for him and now he is gone and she is a mess.
Mephisto of course is supposed to be there for her(view spoiler) and I felt that he really didn't do as good a job as he could of. He left her too many decisions to make at first and she really did not cope well and then subsequently went off the deep end. Drug abuse, self hatred, lashing out at everything and anything just to get by and then Mephisto just lets her drift away. I definitely thought he handled that poorly.
However, he does redeem himself and that is effectively what this whole book is about. Mephisto gives Molly back to herself. He is a sadist and a dominant just like Molly's previous master but his difference is, he wants her to have a brain and a thought in her head. He brings this out in her and he does it well. He controls his own feelings and denies his wants until she is ready and it was beautiful.
So where the previous book was quite sexually harsh and emotionally lacking, this one was emotionally fufulling and hot damn sexy.
I loved these two crazy kids relationship once they got going and there scene play which comes into effect later in the book was awesome, the way that Molly was giggling was beautiful.In all seriousness I found these played out fantasies hot, very hot.
Other suprises come into effect throughout this book that totally change the dynamic of there relationship but I honestly think it would of head there eventually anyway. Mephisto was growing as a character, changing it was all just special and the romantic in me was shivering with pleasure at how this kinky relationship was evolving while reading it.
So if you decide to read these books be warned ,the first one may not be for you, but the second one makes up for it in spades! Enjoy(less)

Okay. I admit it. Yet ANOTHER book I wasn't going to read because I get all squicky with extreme sadism but I couldn't help myself. I had to know where this story would go next.

Molly's journey from airhead slave to thinking slave was a welcome relief. I was worried it would be more of the same misery but it finally felt like she was with someone who loved her for being Molly not just for being a sex slave. I am glad I read the book. Now I know the rest of the story and I am happy.

For two years Clayton knew he might die but he never told anyone and die he did at the beginning of this book. And Molly acted how he was afraid she would. She is totally lost – I think a line Mephisto says about her at the funeral was spot on “…Molly was in a tunnel now, in the dark. She had gone into the tunnel from Clayton’s light.. “ It was a safe place for her to be. Mephisto also struggle with should he do as Clayton asked and tell her he loved her and that he wanted to be her new Master....more For two years Clayton knew he might die but he never told anyone and die he did at the beginning of this book. And Molly acted how he was afraid she would. She is totally lost – I think a line Mephisto says about her at the funeral was spot on “…Molly was in a tunnel now, in the dark. Mephisto also struggle with should he do as Clayton asked and tell her he loved her and that he wanted to be her new Master. He’d never been in a romantic relationship. He only knew TPE and master/slave.

But Molly’s reaction at Clayton’s grave site throws him for a loop. She decides the last 8 years were for nothing and she is ashamed of who she had become. And boy does she go off on Mephisto. They do not part on good terms and Mephisto is questioning whether he pushed an emotionally and damaged woman toward a man that was to powerful for her.

Molly goes back to her life of drugs and being totally out of control. But one night when she is high she end up back at the club a raving lunatic. She wonders the next morning what lead her there – was it the sense that Mephisto and his club were the only play she felt safe? Mephisto helps her realize that she is letting shame rule her life like all those years ago before he found her.

Instead of Mephisto forcing his will on Molly he decides to give her rules – vanilla rules. She is to get out in the real world and help others anyways she wants. To be Molly again to find out who Molly is what she wants out of life. This works for Molly she likes having the freedom during the day to do normal things, to get involved in charities that her husband was also so generous in giving to and she even finds a nice young man she is attracted to. All this works because at the end of the day she gets to come back to the club which is her safe haven even though she no longer participates in the life.

Its was almost heartbreaking to watch Mephisto have to stand back and let Molly do her thing and not interfere in anyway. He did the if you love them set them free.. And eventually Molly did come back to when she realized she could not go back to a vanilla life.

From here promises and vows are made and a really big surprise. The first two books were like the hell two people have to go through to get to the other side where true happiness awaits them. Molly is not unlike many people – we start off with certain beliefs and an image of ourselves and when we detour onto a very dark path we don’t come out the same person on the other side. And since this person we come out as is a stranger to even us we don’t know how to act and can revert back to self destructive behaviors. Molly had to go through all of this to become the woman Mephisto knew she could be and he waited patiently for her to do so. This was not a conventional love story but it was a powerful one all the same. (less)

Clayton, Molly's Master, dies suddenly leaving Molly alone and uncontrolled. She starts questioning her life as a slave trying to convice herself she is normal. Club Mephisto left a bad taste in my mouth. The whole book felt like one big O-sm denial, full of torture to a heroine that I could not connect with. After reading the reviews, I decided to continue reading the series, and I am glad that I did.

Though the whole slave/master/caging/collaring is still not my cup of tea, I understood at the end that it made them happy. It works for them and it works for the story.

My take on the characters:

Molly--Though I ended up liking her, she is my least favorite heroine so far in Annabel's books but that has more to do with the fact that I couldn't connect with wanting to be a slave, or being unable to get her sh't together without having someone control her, take care of her. Her character develops nicely from the first book but she was by no mean an independent person. My view again might be skewed because I believe that dom/sub is hot, slave/master not so much.

Mephisto--I was concerned with his need to 'own' Molly and make her his subservient. He also was a very cruel lover. There was a punishment scene that had me put the book down before I recovered. Luckily, there weren't many of those in the book. He grew on me when he didn't seem so interested in brainwashing her into her former shell. I liked his encouragement for her to keep a balance with the outside world. I liked that after being such a manwhore, he decided to be faithful to Molly. That above all spoke volumes of his love for her. I also enjoyed his fun side with the role plays. That was creative. I still would never choose him as a Dom.

Lorna--love/hate relationship with this character. Though I enjoyed her banter with Mephisto. I didn't appreciate how she referred to Molly throughout the entire book (minus the end), then again, can't be too outranged on Molly's behalf, when she considers herself a slave.

Overall, an enjoyable story. Surely worth rereading. It redeemed itself from the first book. I love Annabel books and can't wait until she writes many more.

I have to say that I have come to love Annabel Joseph. The first book I read of hers was Comfort Object. I didn't have a great reaction to it but I have read 6 more of her novels/novellas and she's become a must buy for me.

This was an amazing find. It is a very romantic book and an excellent example of a working BDSM relationship. Don't buy it and then complain that it wasn't what you wanted. I really didn't like Molly in the first book. Hearing the story from Mephisto's perspective certainly improved the experience for me. And this third book just rocked it!

This is the conclusion to the story of Molly and Mephisto that started out in Club Mephisto. Molly's Master, Clayton, has asked Mephisto to take care of Molly should anything happen to him. Molly's Master, Clayton, has asked Mephisto to take care of Molly should anything happen to him. He's been keeping secrets, a couple of which will have some pretty serious consequences for Molly and Mephisto. Firstly, he has an aneurysm in his brain not amenable to medical or surgical management and it is in effect a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

The worst happens and Mephisto is left to break the bad news to Molly and to take care of her, as promised. Molly is torn apart by grief and totally lost. Clayton has micro managed every aspect of Molly's life for years, giving her no choices and cosseting her in slavery. Now, cast adrift, Molly just cannot cope and reverts back to her wild child persona she had before being collared and is totally and utterly consumed by her grief. She rejects her life as a slave to her Master as something dirty and reprehensible and pushes away from Mephisto in disgust and he lets her go.

Molly returned to Mephisto a month later, her body and personality ravaged by drugs and grief and demands he takes off her collar. He's appalled by the changes in her and takes her under his wing. She slowly starts to recover with his guidance and goes out into the world to attempt to find a vanilla relationship with a good man but this doesn't work for Molly and she turns back to Mephisto who does love her deeply and understands her kink.

So, they appear to find a HEA at just over halfway through the book and I wondered where it was going to go from here but another of Clayton's secrets will have some far reaching consequences for Molly and Mephisto and the second half of the book is mostly given over to the challenges they face as a result of this.

I have to say the last half of the book was heavy on the cheese factor and Mephisto is almost unrecognisable from the Master he was in the first book but I am an absolute romance addict so it just gives me the warm and fuzzies. He's still a sadist through and through and the games they play are a huge amount of fun.

It's all very well done - Molly's grief is absolutely heart wrenching and brought a few tears to my eyes as did Mephisto's delicate care and dedication to her.

I wasn't going to make it to this book.
I found "Clunpb Mephisto" rather boring. To be honest, I almost didn't finish. I found Molly to be a boring character, and the storyline plain.
But I had hope for Mephisto, and so I finished it and read "Molly's Lips," and while it was better than CM it was still a bit plain to me, since I've read many BDSM novels.
And to be honest, the plot for the story was given right away, which very much ruined the book.

I was really in the mood for some erotica. This was much better the I expected: it had a story, characters who struggled to improve, who had real problems, it wasn't only about sex(though it has, and it's really hot; really, really hot!). I liked both characters, they had deferent strengths.

I started reading the first book and a couple of pages in, I thought about not finishing, but something told me to keep reading. The two books leading up to this one were pretty good, but this one is even better. While it's still raunchy and naughty, it isn't the basis is this book, nor is it page after page of BDSM scenes. This is about Mephisto and Molly, and their journey to couplehood. Clayton, Molly's Master dies from a brain aneurysm he was diagnosed with two years previously. Molly his masochistic and submissive slave and wife understandably goes to pieces. Anyone who has loved and lost or is in love and dreads their day of separation would feel empathy at this point in the story, and I found my tears pouring as I read. Clayton was the rock she had clung to and lived with, for and by his rules and suddenly that is taken away, in denial, let down, lost and angry and despite offers of help from Mephisto, she returns to her prior life, partying, drugs, drink, a wreck and a mess. She believes she no longer wants anything to do with Dominance/submission,sadism or masochism. Wealth and material goods mean nothing and Molly is totally lost in her fight dealing with the stages of grief.
Eventually she finds herself back at Mephisto's club railing against him, his club, kink and all it stands for. Despite this, or in spite of this, Mephisto takes her under his wing. Gradually Molly's life gets meaning and a start of self discipline with agreement to develop her own learning and through voluntary charity work. She meets Joe, a nice guy, works as delivery guy for UPS. He's very intelligent and saving for law school. Molly finds Joe is vanilla, and despite hoping and trying for a traditional relationship she realises no matter how nice the man, vanilla does not work for her sexually. This is a defining moment, she returns to Mephisto and her masochistic response to his complementing sadistic sexuality resumes. Then Molly thought she was sterile, but Clayton tricked her and she finds herself pregnant with Mephisto's child. I thought it reflective of how many people when they find they will be parents and responsible for a new life are both often scared of the responsibility...who isn't, but then have to evaluate this within their needs also of their BDSM lifestyle. I'm hoping it gives people in the lifestyle a glimpse into how family raising and their BDSM playtime can be compatible with effort and care.
I also liked Annabel Joseph's analogy of the valuable violin, as a reflection of what happened...struggling to be proficient with it as with life, the attempt at destruction, but has it been broken beyond repair, or is it still a viable option? Mephisto repairs Molly and has the violin repaired too and she becomes comfortable, then proficient and plays at Clayton's grave when she takes Jonathan to introduce him and thanks him. This for me was a defining scene and I have to admit it reduced me totally to tears again as had so many things in this book, and as with her metamorphosis from wrecked to remade, but only with Mephisto's patience, caring, love and kink...this was a beautiful story for me. 5 stars through and through.

That poor bugger, Mephisto burns for her. Buddy, that is probably an STD she gave you. That's why it burns you *whispers - down there*. But seriously, Mephisto steps up again and helps Molly get on her feet as she continues her path of cruel emotional and psychological destruction - of HIM.

At the 1/2 way mark, I'm debating if I can even rate this book at a 2 star for being okay. I'm really kicking myself for forcing myself to read the book. I admire Ms. Joseph. I think her writing is powerful. Her attention to detail is good. Her character building is awesome. Her storyline is so realistic. God, how am I going to give this a rating that will have many hate me? It's these bloody characters. I don't know which editors/publishers tell authors this, but they are right. Doesn't matter how good story is written, if the main character is not liked, the readers will have a hard time liking it and rating it well.

Did I mention the BDSM? The BDSM scenes are fabulous and I adore each and every single scene. The cage, the role playing, the TPE, all of it is so bloody good. WHY? WHY must the main character be such a bloody head case that makes me embarrassed to witness their behaviour? The character isn't even real. This fictional character, Molly is not normal and she knows it. She can't accept herself for being what she is and she just drags everyone onto her crazy train. I want OFF THE TRAIN!

I'm with Lorna, Mephisto's good friend. I think Molly is a train wreck and will ruin his life. There is NOTHING redeemable about her. Thank God she can't procreate and produce some mini-crazy-Molly. Yup, that's how much I dislike Molly. Then about the last third of the book, Molly starts to grow up. It's surprising although based on how Ms. Joseph wrote it, it's really not that surprising. It is more like a big relief. I actually thoroughly enjoyed the last third of the book so I can at least say by the end of the story, I'm happy. This is why the book rated a 3 star despite my rantings and ravings. My favourite line in the book - "Being in labor is not the time to brag about your pain tolerance!" This book is recommended to kinky readers who love the crazies who end up being redeemed and lovable.(less)

Ok, so there was some redemption in this book. Book 3 in the series. We learn that Mephisto has a heart. Check in the bonus column. Like other readers, I came to this book a bit unhappy with Mephisto based upon his actions in Club Mephisto/Molly's Lips. Thankfully, I purchased all three titles at the same time.

Mephisto ultimately becomes the type of Dom with Molly that a Dom should be. Ms. Joseph gets the emotions entirely right when she is portraying Molly's reactions at the beginning of this novel. The book was very satisfying and I recommend, it even if you are reluctant after reading the first two books of this series.
