Burn for You (Club Mephisto #2)
by
Annabel Joseph (Goodreads Author)
When Molly loses her longtime Master, she feels lost, angry. Confused. She’s unsure of her future, even her calling to the BDSM lifestyle. She knows her Master always intended her to go to his friend Mephisto next, but their emotionally—and sexually—fraught history is still a confusion of desire and fear in her mind.

I actually went into this one a bit angry based on reading Mephisto's perspective in the last book.
I found this one pleasantly surprising.
The fact that Molly didn't fall immediately into a relationship with Mephisto felt really right. He didn't deserve it and she had more than earned a chance to try to make it on her own. And she needed to take a chance with Eliot as well.
Of course, I think it is fair to point out a couple of things.

How did I love this book? Let me count the ways. Firstly - this book has achieved what both of the other books lacked and that is balance. Balance in the lifestyle and balance in the emotions of the characters. I feel as if both the other books were like a prelude or first course and this is the main meal. This one satisfied your appetite - the other books what it.
Second - FINALLY FINALLY I actually developed some level of appreciation for Molly. If I dig deep down my loathing of her (or at lea...more

Breathless.
That is the single word I can use to describe this book; this series for that matter. I adored every inch of what I read of Molly and Mephisto. It was both a torturous journey and tragic at times. I understood Molly, because at one time in my life I was that girl. Reckless, destructive, impulsive, and out of control. I let things get to me that normal people wouldn’t have. I felt worthless and unlovable. All these things Molly feels. A woman trapped in a world where she felt unworthy...more

What an amazingly emotional, lovely story! This is a follow-on story to Club Mephitso/Molly's Lips. While you don't need to read the prior two books to get pulled into this story, I did find reading them make this story that much more appealing. This is a wonderfully, erotic love story of two individuals who are deeply into the BDSM lifestyle. And, while I certainly wouldn't make some of the choices that this pair makes, I am so glad that I got a glimpse at such a dynamic. If you like strong cha...more
Whoa…this story was amazing! BURN FOR YOU is the enthralling conclusion of Mephisto and Molly’s love story, which began with CLUB MEPHISTO and MOLLY’S LIPS. It was a bumpy road, but I’ve made peace with Molly. I understand her now. She is strong and passionate, and she has the heart of a devoted slave.

I did not read the 1.5 version of this series.. I dont really find the other person POV with the same event very interesting.. So I went for Club Mephisto straight to Burn for you.
I like Molly I really do but Meohisto is a dick.. I only like him at the beginning when he was friends with Molly and honestly wanted to take care of her.
I was really diappointed when she went back to being a slave especially after she laid down all those rules to him. I thought their relationship could be more equal....more

Wow, it was intense in a good way. While I didn't like the prequel to this book, I loved this one.
I know we're supposed to accept other people's kink even if it's not our cup of tea. But I just can't get over Clayton's treatment of Molly, or should I say 'girl'. No wonder she broke after his death. I would have been more surprised if she hadn't.

This book was the ying to Club Mephisto's yang.
In the first book of this series you were thrown into the world of Molly, slave girl. She has absolutely no say in her life, her and her husband/ master have done a total power exchange and it suits her perfectlty. She is given to Mephisto for a week to look after her when her husband is away on business (view spoiler)...more

Okay. I admit it. Yet ANOTHER book I wasn't going to read because I get all squicky with extreme sadism but I couldn't help myself. I had to know where this story would go next.
Molly's journey from airhead slave to thinking slave was a welcome relief. I was worried it would be more of the same misery but it finally felt like she was with someone who loved her for being Molly not just for being a sex slave. I am glad I read the book. Now I know the rest of the story and I am happy.

For two years Clayton knew he might die but he never told anyone and die he did at the beginning of this book. And Molly acted how he was afraid she would. She is totally lost – I think a line Mephisto says about her at the funeral was spot on “…Molly was in a tunnel now, in the dark. She had gone into the tunnel from Clayton’s light.. “ It was a safe place for her to be. Mephisto also struggle with should he do as Clayton asked and tell her he loved her and that he wanted to be her new Master....more
3rd part to this series. 2 years after the first book and of course the 2nd which was the same timeline only done in Mephisto pov. Clayton, Molly's Master, dies suddenly leaving Molly alone and uncontrolled. She starts questioning her life as a slave trying to convice herself she is normal. She starts a downward spiral sliding back into her old ways of drugs, parting, and drinking.
Finally she snaps and runs to Mephisto for help. He slowly brings Molly back to herself, forcing her to make some of...more

Club Mephisto left a bad taste in my mouth. The whole book felt like one big O-sm denial, full of torture to a heroine that I could not connect with. After reading the reviews, I decided to continue reading the series, and I am glad that I did.
Though the whole slave/master/caging/collaring is still not my cup of tea, I understood at the end that it made them happy. It works for them and it works for the story.

As you know by now, this book is part of a series I read with a group read hosted by Michael. The first book and a half, I was bumfuzzled and had a strong reaction of angst. This book, however, cleared it all up and actually was the beginning of my love affair with this author; Annabel Joseph.

I have to say that I have come to love Annabel Joseph. The first book I read of hers was Comfort Object. I didn't have a great reaction to it but I have read 6 more of her novels/novellas and she's become a must buy for me.

This was an amazing find. It is a very romantic book and an excellent example of a working BDSM relationship. Don't buy it and then complain that it wasn't what you wanted. Judge it on its merit, and it has plenty, let me tell you. The characters were complex and well developed and were simpathetic, which is something many Master/slave characters lack. I could identify with the real emotions of both Molly and Mephisto. I understood what drew them together. It was real love that just happens to b...more
I really didn't like Molly in the first book. Hearing the story from Mephisto's perspective certainly improved the experience for me. And this third book just rocked it!
Very happy that Molly finally found herself and learnt to balance kink and vanilla aspects of life. The escapism of the first book, just felt so very horrid, like a life half lived only. There were moments when I felt mad at Clayton for recognising that escapism in Molly and doing nothing about it. But as the story progressed, I...more

This is the conclusion to the story of Molly and Mephisto that started out in Club Mephisto. Molly's Master, Clayton, has asked Mephisto to take care of Molly should anything happen to him. He's been keeping secrets, a couple of which will have some pretty serious consequences for Molly and Mephisto. Firstly, he has an aneurysm in his brain not amenable to medical or surgical management and it is in effect a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

I wasn't going to make it to this book.
I found "Clunpb Mephisto" rather boring. To be honest, I almost didn't finish. I found Molly to be a boring character, and the storyline plain.
But I had hope for Mephisto, and so I finished it and read "Molly's Lips," and while it was better than CM it was still a bit plain to me, since I've read many BDSM novels.
And to be honest, the plot for the story was given right away, which very much ruined the book.

I read the first book in this series when I first discovering this genre. It was very intense, had been haunting the back of my mind all this time, but I couldn't remember what it was. Then I came across this and AHA, I got it.
I didn't rate this 4 stars because it's an awesome book so much as it pushes all my kinky buttons. The heroine is not all that attractive to me, not very interesting, and really, he isn't either. But towards the end when they are laughing at themselves for the role play th...more

I was really in the mood for some erotica. This was much better the I expected: it had a story, characters who struggled to improve, who had real problems, it wasn't only about sex(though it has, and it's really hot; really, really hot!). I liked both characters, they had deferent strengths.
There were some great quotes but I was too caught up in the story to write them down. If I re-read it I'll remember to add them here.

I started reading the first book and a couple of pages in, I thought about not finishing, but something told me to keep reading. Club Mephisto was the first book I read about extreme BDSM and I loved it, so I am extremely glad that I kept reading it. By the end, I felt that there just had to be a second one. And I am so glad there was. I fell in love with Mephisto. Yes, he was harsh at times but I really felt that he loved Molly and a lot of cruelty to her in the first book, was mostly jealously...more
Out of the entire series of "Club Mephisto" I would have to say this was the best one! I loved the love story and the attraction with Mephisto and Molly. The way Annabel portrayed Molly mourning the lose of her Master that "made her" had me really taken back. I really liked the story, how things progressed in this book, things happened that you couldn't foresee, which in a book, that is a good thing (at least for me). I really liked the scenes in this book, not too raunchy, or heavy on the beati...more
The two books leading up to this one were pretty good, but this one is even better. While it's still raunchy and naughty, it isn't the basis is this book, nor is it page after page of BDSM scenes. This is about Mephisto and Molly, and their journey to couplehood. I already thought Mephisto was hot in the previous books, he's even hotter in this one - he knows who he is, what he is, and what he wants. There are also some light-hearted moments. Ch 13 had me practically laughing out loud. I can't s...more

This was a difficult book for me. Or perhaps a painful book for me. The first third of the book, I hated it. I mean, 1 star and I wanted to just wipe Molly out of Mesphisto's life. I guess it's true, you can't always control who you fall in love with.
Molly disgusted me. Ms. Joseph did an excellent job of showing the ugly side of this character. Molly is selfish, hateful and broken. She is broken and she revels in it. What is up with these psychotic submissive/slaves? And how does Ms. Joseph writ...more

Ok, so there was some redemption in this book. Book 3 in the series. We learn that Mephisto has a heart. Check in the bonus column. We learned that Molly has a back bone, but when she finds it, she goes bananas. It's better if her spine is made from something the consistency of refrigerated cookie dough.

Like other readers, I came to this book a bit unhappy with Mephisto based upon his actions in Club Mephisto/Molly's Lips. Thankfully, I purchased all three titles at the same time.
Mephisto ultimately becomes the type of Dom with Molly that a Dom should be. Ms. Joseph gets the emotions entirely right when she is portraying Molly's reactions at the beginning of this novel. The book was very satisfying and I recommend, it even if you are reluctant after reading the first two books of this series.

Burn for you is the conclusion from Club Mephsisto. Her master has died and willed her to Mephisto. The problem is Mephstiso has loved her from afar and now has the opportunity to make her his slave but he will have to give up his many playmates to make her special. Surprisingly there is no sex in this book until you are 40% in. That makes for a story. Our heroin goes through bdsm withdrawal and breaks from that world only to have an epiphany while with another. I enjoyed it as much as the first...more
