I absolutely loved this and devoured it in one sitting early in the morning on the sofa while my family slumbered upstairs.

It's a retelling of the novella Club Mephisto which I thought was a good story when I read it and a great story a few days after I read it - it's one of those stories that just stays with you and steals back into your thoughts when you're least expecting it.

Molly is a 24/7 slave to her super rich husband Clayton. She was a bit of a wild child on the club scene until Mephisto More...

So if you read my review of Club Mephisto, you probably saw my theory at the end. Well, it turns out I was wrong.

I actually gave Clayton and Mephisto way more credit than they deserved. For Clayton, this was just an attempt to see if Mephisto and Molly are compatible. Worrying about what he had done to Molly was maybe kind of an afterthought.

I was really disappointed in Mephisto, though. For someone who was supposed to be the Top Dominant in Seattle, he seemed to have the emotionally stability o More...

I couldn’t resist.

I had to review this book the moment I was done with it, even if I am dying to get into the next book. Finally, after all this time, we get into the mind of Mephisto. It all falls together like scattered pieces of a puzzle that have been missing. The final piece was the method beyond Mephisto’s madness. The thing we all secretly knew was true, and finally it was confirmed in the final pages of this novella that left us all crying and smiling at the same time. Annabel warns at t More...

First I want to say if you've read Club Mephisto you MUST read this book. This really feels like a completely different book about two different people. The Mephisto in this book is the one we'd only glimpsed from the other. I commented in my review of the first book that I thought Mephisto was who he was - non apologetic, clear, without any ambiguity. So to read the events of that week Molly spent with him from his point of view is just an amazing thing - a unique viewpoint or lens through wh More...

This is the same story as Club Mephisto but told from Mephisto point of view. We also get to see a very important meeting between him and Clayton that makes a lot of sense at the start of the next book Burn for You. We learn that when he first met Molly he had wanted her for himself but when Clayton showed up he knew he was the one for Molly. But even with this he never stop wondering about what could have been. As Clayton is telling him all about his preparations he’s made to make sure Molly is More...

Club Mephisto was both uncomfortable and fascinating to read, it took me to places I wasn't sure I wanted to go to but I found it impossible to put down once I'd started reading. The story was told completely from Molly's point of view though and I couldn't wait to get inside Mephisto's head to try and understand why he did some of the things he did. Whatever you do don't read Molly's Lips until after you've read Club Mephisto though - this is a retelling of the original book but from a differen More...

(July) I did not read Club Mephisto - but when I came across this book as a Nook freebie, I figured why not give it a try. I'm glad I did. I don't think I'll ever understand the mind of a true slave or someone who can possibly hurt someone he/she loves that terribly, not be moved by their tears, etc. - but to each his own (if you can't follow that dictate, you have no business reading BDSM, in my opinion). I wish Mephisto didn't have dreads - sorry, but to me they make someone sound dirty (and n More...

Like the title says, this novella is a retelling of Club Mephisto from Mephisto's point of view. (Read Club Mephisto first!)

So, when I finished the first book many months ago, I was upset. With Molly. With Mephisto. And especially with Molly's husband/master Clayton. *grrr* The whole time Molly was in Mephisto's care, I thought he was trying to get a message through to her, and it was NOT received. But, I didn't know for sure, because the first book was told from Molly's point of view only.

When More...

I enjoyed reading this story from Mephisto's point of view. There were times in the first book "Club Mephisto" I was wondering what Mephisto was thinking at times, during the scenes, and also what he was thinking when Molly was his slave for the week. You can feel the attraction they have for eachother. The way Annabel wrote this book, was amazingly written, she thought of everything, each and every scene told us as readers what Mephistso wanted and needed as a Master. If you enjoy reading dark More...

I must say that I did read Club Mephisto first. And, I'm so glad I did so. Not that this books isn't good on it's own - I just felt it was a richer story after first hearing/reading about it from Molly's perspective first. There were a few scenes in Club Mephisto that I struggled with that became crystal clear in this book. Club Mephisto was the first book that I had read by Annabel Joseph. She is definitely an author that I would read again!

Please be aware that both Molly's Lips and Club Mephi More...

Molly's Lips: Club Mephisto Retold is the sequel to Club Mephisto. In this one the reader gets to find out what Mephisto was thinking as he put Molly through the ringer at his BDSM club. Although the story line repeats the one of Club Mephisto with some added scenes between Mephisto and Molly's regular master, it's a fresh retelling of the story that is as compelling as the first book. As with other Annabel Joseph books I've read, the BDSM scenes are frank and quite brutal, but the story is fasc More...

At times this book was hard for me to read, the level of submission took me a bit out of my psychological comfort zone even though it was just through the process of reading a fictional story. The fact that the writing was able to do that without making me want to put the book down is pretty amazing to me. I found myself wishing it were longer, and had more detail about the emotional dynamics (even though there was plenty of detail there). It sparked a lot of curiosity, I immediately went and bo More...

Surprisingly good.
This may be the first M/F BDSM I've actually liked. Since I can't stand whiny, doormat women, female subs tend to be irritating. And Fem-doms are just,... Yuk, please No!

I guess reading this story from the male Dom's POV bypassed the above two problems. Probably helps that the Dom freely admits he doesn't really understand Molly's motivations anyway. I can empathise, because I don't either.

I'm not going to bother with the prequel, but the sequel has g More...

This was a three and maybe a half star read for me. I wish I had followed the advice of some of the others who reviewed this book and read Club Mephisto first. I think I might have had a better grasp of this story if I had. The complete lack of Molly's viewpoint left her as an even greater enigma at the end of the book than she was at the start as far as I was concerned. I read the book because it was free and because I have a fascination for TPE which I can't let go of, and probably don't want More...

This right here is why I prefer romance books whether erotic or otherwise to be written from both H/h's POV.
After reading the first book I was left feeling like Molly was on the verge of been abused and that neither men in her life saw her as anything more than as a slave, even though that's what she seemed to want, she is still a person at the end of the day.
But reading this book made me see Mephisto in a whole new light and also we got more of an insight into why Molly seems to need TPE so muc More...

This book is Club Mephisto retold from Mephisto's point of view. For my review of Club Mephisto, see here.

Well, after reading Club Mephisto I was desperate to get inside Mephisto's head, to see what he was thinking and feeling throughout his week with Molly. In Club Mephisto, we get glimpses of his personality, but not enough to really see Mephisto - AKA Jay - as a person. I was very surprised (and gladdened) to discover that the terrifying, intense Master Mephisto had a soft, vulnerable side.

It is with trepidation, I started this book. Let it be known, I'm a fan of Mephisto. I've read reviews from other friends who indicated this book made them hate or dislike Mephisto. To my relief, my opinion of him didn't change, except to hurt a little bit more for him. He obviously loves Molly and he can't act upon it. Since I read this series out of order, I know what is to come in Burn for You. Knowing what I do now about Mephisto and what he wants from Molly, I'm actually a bit more in love More...

I was desperate for a book to act as surrogate while I wait for The Reluctant Dom to rerelease. This book was excellent for that. I loved coming to understand the Dom as he put Molly through her paces. He is a selfish bastard, but he also loves her. The ending made me think the next story will resemble The Reluctant Dom, which is fine by me. I did not read the book before this (which it is based on) and do not feel I missed anything for it. Thank you Annabel for an excellent second version of th More...

I'm not a big fan of the 're-telling' stories (well, except for the snippet E.L. James did at the end of FSoG). But inevitably I read them and find some satisfaction in reading an alternate POV. True with this one, and gratefully it was brief and free. Although I didn't find any major revelations about what Mephisto was thinking and feeling about Molly, Will it was helpful to know more about HIM, and what transpired between him and Clayton. Will read the next book, Burn For You.

This story was a bit much to relate to at times, due to the unique relationship the was present between the main character's Mephisto the BDSM club owner and Dungeon Master of Mephisto's and his best friend Clayton a wealthy business man, who just happens to be the husband and 24/7 Master to his wife and slave Molly. What one does come to understand is that Clayton has chosen to bring Mephisto and Molly together for a week so he can be out of town and not worry about Molly while on business, wit More...

I loved this book. Was interestingly different than my normal reads. (view spoiler)[ both doms loved her in their own way for different reasons. I I think,it is important to note that after harsh treatments she was arroused. So not too harsh for her. (hide spoiler)] Great love story in BDSM genre. I couldn't wait 5 seconds to download Burn For You the rest of their story!

One of the best written books I have read!

This book tells the story of Molly but not from her point of view, from her surrogate dom's point of view.

It not only tells the story, but also gives an insight into the way this dom thinks about how to look after a slave he has been loaned for a week while his friend (her master) is away on a business trip. This could also be a good book for someone who is looking for a romance novel with a bit of spice added.

I would definitely recommend this book to an More...

I am a sucker for a series, and this one did not disappoint, this is a retelling of Club Mephisto through Mephisto's point of view. As with all of Annabel's books it was a spicy hot read from start to finish. This is a book that contains extreme BDSM practices including consensual slavery, and the practices of SSC aren't always followed in this story and isn't for everyone, even those who read a lot of erotica.

I will give this a chance, as I didn't read the first book and it seems that this very short novella is very dependent on reading the first book for some understanding of what's going on. However, it seems to be a very hard book to enjoy, with some very hardcore BDSM themes and issues with consent in them. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

The order I read this series in was Club Mephisto, then Burn For You, then Molly's Lips. I must say that by the end, I am head over heels in love with Mephisto. He gave Jeremy from Comfort Object a run for his money on favorite Annabel Joseph Dom. Don't think he really won (because I am insane about Jeremy) but Mephisto is pretty darn great.

I ended up liking this book far better then the previous two. I can't relate to TPE and I can't help but cringe a little when I read it (although I keep reading it!) The first two books were rough for me to get through but this one showed a slightly softer side to Mephisto and some growth with Molly. Much better for me.

I liked this even more than the first (Club Mephisto) and that one was extraordinarily hot, but this time you got to see the why behind the dom's actions. i also like that he wasn't perfect and omniscient. Joseph's books are particularly appealing to me for both those reasons, and this was very satisfying. Still you need to read the third, Burn for You to get the whole story.

I liked this flip on the first book Mephisto. Seeing the story from Mephisto/jay perspective was nice. After reading the first book so many things were the same just on the flip side it almost seemed redundant to me to read it.
