This is a story I can really get into. Ellie is a tomboy. Her father always wanted a boy but ended up with a girl who dresses and acts like a boy which, back then was frowned upon. While Ellie is always trying to get people to see she isn't a fragile little girl but she also has to complete for her fathers attention with the forman, Tyler, who is the son he never had. Ginger Simpson grew up reading anything by Laura Ingalls Wilder and became so fascinated with western historical novels, they've remained her favorite for more years than she cares to admit.
