Hmmmmm this was a really hard book to rate. The first 60% of the book I found myself wanting to put it down and give up. Barely anything got explained properly and I got sick of Katie being a hysterical mess. It also takes ages for Katie and Rhyn to even meet, and when they do he's some rabid beast who torments her through prison cell bars even after she's basically had her throat torn out by his sadistic brother. His other brother Kris also annoyed me to no end, he was such an ass.

This is the first book I've read by Lizzy Ford, I must say I really enjoyed her writing and this series has left me wanting to go read all of her books.

I will admit and many have said the first part of the book is abit slow and wordy if that makes sense, I even wanted to put it down a few times, but don't do that.....once you get past the first few chapters it flows extremely well.

We meet Katie who is having a day from hell, you know when you have those days you

I love books that make you keep reading no matter how tried you are. Katie’s Hellion kept me up late into the night absorbing the pages as fast as I could. I can’t even begin to count how many times I thought, just one more page, and before I knew it, it was 1:00 in the morning and the book was finished.

Katie’s Hellion left me pleasantly exhausted. I absolutely loved everything about this book. Katie was a bit of a drunk and had a hard go at life, but in no time she fo

I couldn't put this book down. It was remarkably good. In fact, I haven't read anything by Lizzy Ford before but I'm ready to throw myself wholeheartedly into her older books to see what else she can come up with.

I liked the mythology created - seven immortal brothers who should be the defenders of humanity. One has aligned himself with the Dark One and one has been imprisoned as his his brother's plaything for hundreds of thousands of years. Tortured and kept in hellish confinement, Rhyn has pr

At the start of this book I was slightly confused. Probably, because I was recovering from a cold :) Wow, once I got into this book I couldn't put it down. What an amazing mind Lizzy Ford has. The characters came to life off the pages, and I wanted to know all about them. I really loved the character Katie, and Rhyn was amazing. I do wish we could have seen more of Toby the five year old he's very interesting. When I got to the last page my first thought was I need to get the next book to find o ...more

When I started this book I was already in love with Lizzy Ford’s Witchling Trilogy and I would have never imagined there was a possibility Rhyn might take its place as my favourite LF book series. I read the book in two days, something I rarely manage to do, since I am in the final year of highschool and have a lot of studying to do.

I have been reading a lot of Paranormal Romance lately, from vampire to witch

The Plot - War, killing, kids and others types of hell. LoL

The Characters- Rhyn is a half breed that is super-duper powerful. He is dark, strong and extremely uncontrollable. Now, that’s what I call a great catch. Prrrrrrr,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

description

Katie is a human, a kick ass human with the capacity of making me laugh my ass off in the darkest situations. Ok, I have a strange and twisted sense of humor, but come on, the girl is having the worst day of her life in such a funny way. I can’t help my grin wh

“Trust me.”
God help me, I think I do.
As if hearing her thought, he gave a slow smile.

Demon's and vampires are hunting Katie. Her blood has some special properties which makes them immune to supernatural powers. Things are not looking good for her, and when she is claimed as the mate of the worst of all demons, Rhyn, things seem to have gone from bad to worse. But Rhyn might just be the only one who can protect her.

Katie's Hellion is something of a jigsaw puzzle. Almost until the end I didn't re

I’m going to go with eehhh. Let’s be honest here, I got this book for my kindle because it was free. Don’t let that cloud your opinion of it; it’s actually not a bad fantasy novel, so far as self-insert female leads go. I say this, because it is clearly what Katie was written to be, or at least I hope she was; a character that flat can only hope to be a one-size-fits-all girl, especially when coupled with a man for whom she cannot contain her overwhelming lust. A staple, so far as I am concerned ...more

2.5 I probably should round this up to 3 stars but truthfully I am not feeling that generous after I reached the 'ending'. I might go back and edit this review later because I am still steaming off my reading experience.
This is a free download off goodreads. I decided to take a chance on the story/author.
To say that I did not enjoy the story is the best most polite thing that I can do right now.
I could pick this story a part, piece by piece and yet that would be no good to anyone.

Sometimes you come across a book which you just cannot put down. Doesn't matter what you're doing you think about it and are desperate to get back to it. With some books you expect this. The cover, the blurb and the title are all kinds of awesome and you just know you're gonna be in for a treat. What's even better though is when you don't expect it, and the awesomeness comes out of nowhere.

Katie's Hellion, to me, is one of those books.

Here's how I stumbled upon this

Loved this book!! The only catch about this book is you really have to read at least half of it to really get sucked into this interesting world of immortals. I was frustrated in the beginning because I really was kind of confused taking in this whole new world. The immortals are not your typical "vampires" or "werewolves" or whatever. The author Lizzy Ford really creates something new and interesting and I think that the reason it takes so long for the plot to really begin is because the reader ...more

I think that parenting makes your humor shift a bit, because I'm sorry but I died laughing at the beginning of this book. First Katie gets pulled over by a cop on her way to work at the ungodly hour of around 4:30 am. She was speeding(37 in a 35) and had a tail light out. This really tickled me because after the officer was through with her she had a lot of charges and an extremely expensive ticket. It wasn't funny that she got all of these charges, it was funny because something like this would ...more

“Three and a half stars: An engaging kick off to a new Urban Fantasy series.

Katie is hurriedly trying to get to work on time. Her continual tardiness puts her current job in jeopardy. A cop pulls her over for going two miles an hour over the speed limit. Then the pompous jerk writes her up for taking sleeping pills the night before and a broken taillight. Now she is not only on the verge of losing her job but her license as well. She makes it to the train just in time. While sitting quietly, try

Let me start by saying that I am SO FRICKIN' HAPPY that I have books 2 and 3 already. FUUUUUUUUUCK photo anger_zps17f1675e.gif

Seriously, I got to the end and Katie's response to Rhyn as she's walking out of the garden made me hate her a little. But I was expecting to tap my kindle and start a new chapter but that was the end of the book! Yikes! Well, luckily, I have book 2, Katie's Hope. But I can't start it tonight.

Another really good entry from Lizzy Ford. The more I read her stuff the more I like it.

This is the first of a trilogy. This book is setting the stage; we have good character development and an interesting plot.
Others have said that the story starts off slow...I would not say it starts off slow as much as I would say that this is a book that could have a LOT of depth of characters written or added in.
And I have a feeling that is what book 2 and 3 are for. I suspect we will not get full closure

Excellent. It's refreshing to see a story plot that's unique.

I found Katie's Character to be quite strong, especially when facing all the changes to her world as she knows it, and then going to Hell...from there, the book turns into one heck of a Roller coaster ride.

Rhyn's Character is also a strong, tortured, vengeful Ancient, who is considered by his family to be Evil, but Katie sees a man/Ancient that deserves a second chance.

this is far from book genres I usually read, but it made me keep reading until I finished the book!

"I respect the Code. Doesn’t mean I always have to follow it." love Rhyn's character he seemed to care to no one but still end up helping everyone eventhough they think of him as low creature.

I feel sorry for Katie when she's bragged into other side of the world, she's weak in her human body, but she's strong inside. The bravest, weirdest of all times.

I like Kris for his political views and the de

I liked it! It was a bit odd in the beginning for me, but I got into the story line. It's an age-old plot basis about the ever-present battle between good and evil. Honestly, it's the first book that's categorized as a "fantasy" book that I've liked, and finished. The 2nd book won't be out until next month...wondering where it'll take Rhyn, Katie, Kris, and all the other characters.

This started out slow and confusing for me. I never quite got the feel of all the relationships between some of the characters...history between individuals that never quite had the dots fully connected. But as the story continues, boy does it pick up speed.

Katie is one of those great heroine characters. Spunky and sassy and ready to punch out any demon's lights. The slow path to hell...or insanity...is so clear, and you easily believe her struggles in dealing and comprehending this whole 'nothe

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
When I had first seen/ heard of this book, I wasn't sure if I would like it. I felt this way from the cover and reading the summary, but I decided that it was by the amazing Lizzy Ford so I would give it a shot. At first, I ought it would be an adult book but then I decided its more New Adult. It doesn't have too many inappropriate or graphic scenes. Lizzy Ford just has this amazing way with words. My Rating: ★★★★

I’ve had some pretty insane days, but I think Katie has me beat. Already running late for work, she is pulled over by a cop happy to fill his quota just with her inconsequential crimes. Then, suddenly, her world is completely rocked when a five-year-old immortal is dropped into her life, escorted by Death’s right hand man. She wasn’t supposed to remember her lif

"Can't take you anywhere without you beheading folks," she whispered."

The Council of Seven, made up of seven immortal brothers, is falling apart from the inside. With two brothers dead, two more banished to hell for aiding the Dark One, and internal skirmishes happening almost daily, the fate of the human race seems unlikely at best.

And then there's Katie, a "mere" human that has a remarkable trait - her blood makes her immune to immortal abilities. She finds herself thrust into the immortal wo

Katie's Hellion (Book I, Rhyn Trilogy) by Lizzy Ford

This book was gifted to me for an honest review. Thank You!

Gabriel, lover to Death, helped sentence his friend Rhyn to Hell for something he didn't deserve. Death says that Rhyn will have to die to save humanity but that a woman destined to be his mate can change his fate. Gabriel delivers Rhyn his immortal powers and a book on how to care for humans.

Katie is having a really bad morning, she is pulled over for driving two miles over the speed

Lizzy was kind enough to give me the books in this series to read and review, and I must say I wasn't disappointed (I'm never disappointed with Lizzy's work). She has a great talent and Rhyn was he's a beast (metaphorically and literally), the dialogue between the characters is memorable and so aren't the characters themselves. "You could've asked me for anything in the universe and you ask me to babysit a human." Katie is a take no crap kind of girl, and she speaks her mind. "Your shit is every ...more

This is the first Lizzy Ford book that I have read, and I have to say I was pretty much sucked into the story from the first. The basic plot premise has been rehashed in enough of the other reviews that I don't think I need to do that here, so I will just say that I enjoyed the story. My one complaint was that this was supposed to be the first in the series and yet there was so much backstory being given that it read more like book 2 or 3. I had some problems with Katie's character. As a previou ...more
