Jules De la Cruz is very happy running The Guy's a Loser Detective Agency. Then the FBI shows up, bringing with them her past. A huge cache of weapons has been stolen and they think her ex-husband is involved. However, nobody is telling Jules the whole truth, and the weapons aren't the only thing missing from the cache.

We all know a jerk(or three) and originally it was this that attracted me to the novel. 'The Guys a Loser Detective Agency' tells the story of Jules,a current detective who is roped back into her past with the FBI to find her ex-husband(who she never actually divorced). Amidst these problems, Jules has to deal with a cute reporter who seems to know more than any ordinary reporter should and everyone around her seems to have secret agendas of their own. My character Jules De la Cruz is an amalgamation of all the strong women in my life. Like Jules, they have all tended to shoot first, and ask what you want later.

“The Guy’s A Loser Detective Agency” was an act of nostalgia; an attempt to capture, again, the fear and thrill that I remember from youth, running from policemen through beautiful European cities, crossing borders with contraband, and t
