For me, this was one of those 'there's a 5* story in here somewhere' type of books. I loved the characters, both individually and as a couple and the writing, for the most part was witty and enjoyable, but the plot holes and visible plot devices took away from a 5* rating for me.

Stephen and Brendan meet in a broom closet when Brendan tries to prove to his ex that he's not boring in the sack. He mistakes Stephen for his boyfriend because apparently, a)they're built the same, b) the closet was dar...more

Hey, Being Raped Is Turning Me On!!

It that theme doesn't bother you, then you'll find this story pretty enjoyable. It's not really D/s or bdsm, so much as an exchange of power in a few very descriptive dub-con encounters.

I wouldn't want to encounter a cop like Brendan or a doctor like Stephen in real life - would find them creepy as hell and ethically bankrupt, but in the context of the story, they're perfect for each other.

Really, it gets 4 stars mainly for the well-written sex scenes.

If you know what I like to read, you know that I am not squeamish and I love a good rape role-play. I've even read and enjoyed age play, non-consent, you name it. So here I am reading, there's great writing, great setup, I'm SO excited.

We're heavy into sexytimes and hero 1 says that hero 2's cock feels like "a baby's arm" as it rubs up against his own cock. Yeah. I pretty much had to wash my brain out with soap to get that image out of my head, but I'm a trooper so I head back in and get to this...more

Sexy short story about Brendan, a workaholic cop whose partner is accusing him of being dull. In retaliation he plans to seduce his partner at a work function but things go awry when he handcuffs the wrong man. There's kind of a mild dubcon going on here but it makes for kinky closet sex. I would have liked this better with a different ending (view spoiler)[the closing scene is Brendan pushing Stephen back into the closet and he has a third guy there for them to get down and dirty with - just th...more

Manhandled is another winner from S.A. Reid, an author with a special talent for blending sizzling male/male sex with a page-turning plot. A cop and a doctor meet by chance and find themselves irresistably drawn to each other. They don't seem to have much in common besides lust but find a unique way to approach a relationship that works for both of them. It's a short read but super hot!

The two stories that follow are excerpts from longer novels but well worth the read. The Red King by Rosemary O...more

Ooooh...I liked this one. The ending was a little questionable for me, but overall I liked the characters and story quite a bit. This story is a contemporary m/m erotic romance short story/novella.

Who, what, and where?
A blue collar police officer and a posh (virrrrrgin!) doctor in Boston. They meet through completely unplanned circumstances. It's pretty hot. They have to work through their perceived class differences to realize their incendiary attraction to each other just will not be denied.

I think Manhandled serves as an intriguing introduction to both of its authors. A lot was packed into a short number of pages and it felt like a complete story, but also like a very, very short novella. Don't get me wrong. Manhandled was hot, and I liked both characters being such stark contrasts to one another. Manhandled certainly delivers on its main premise...

But the fact that it was on the short side sort of prevented the sort of development of feelings t...more

I love when accidental love smacks you in the head.
Bredan Daly wants to prove to his ex-boyfriend Kent that he is spontaneous and sexy fun in the sack (or in a broom closet as the case may be) so her plans a role play scenario bad cop vs. suspect. Very hot and sweet scene. But there is a little problem, it isn't Kent, but a new handsome doctor at the hospital company party that Brendan attacks 'Kent'.

I'm not exactly sure how to rate this one. It's definitely hot. the male characters had quite the chemistry going on, but then there some things that I wasn't totally comfortable with--not that that's necessarily a bad thing--but I did have some cringing moments while reading.

this is a very quick read. It's only about half of the kindle book, the rest of it is previews of the authors' upcoming books. I was a bit thrown from that, but that's ok. I thought that what was done with such a short stor...more

This story was ok. I really didn't like Brendan. I thought he was pretty much a total jackass throughout the entire book. His boyfriend, Kent, breaks up with him because he is boring, and their relationship has gotten stale. Brendan's brilliant plan to win him back is to pull Kent into a dark closet at one of his business outings and do a little role playing. Poor Stephen gets nabbed instead. I had a very difficult time believing Brendan didn't know it wasn't his intended target, but whatever. S...more

Manhandled is a great title due to the edginess of the sexual encounters. One in particular rode the line of being questionable but managed to stay firmly on the side of consensual and ethical. The chemistry between Brenden and Stephen is apparent and makes scenes like that work.

Manhandled is a good, hot story. It pulled me in quickly and I felt like I got to know both men (which is not an easy thing to do in such a short story). S.A. Reid was a new author for me but one I'll look for again.

This was a fairly entertaining erotic novella. The plot is a bit disjointed and requires some suspension of disbelief (a couple of the encounters read as more porny than realistic), but overall it's very hot.

[Note: The story ended around the 50% mark on my Kindle, and the rest is excerpts from the authors' other books. Just a heads up for those who don't like when books seem longer than they are.]

Straight and to the point. That what I think of this book. Yes, the sex scenes were smokin' hot, but I think the characters lacked depth.
(view spoiler)[I mean did the virgin doctor really just fuck his cop patient on the exam table??? (hide spoiler)]

I think this book could have been longer and the characters would of had more time to become more "human" instead of what seemed like random bodies having sex.

Holy hot medical fetish, Batman! With a little cuff-me-officer fetish on the side.

This was quick and fun. S.A. Reid has a knack for writing these dastardly characters that I love to love. They are so rough around the edges that I shouldn't even like them, but I end up loving them. I wish this had been longer and more developed, because I think I really could have fallen for these two boys and their messed up beginning. But for a short, I thought they were a lot of fun.

Manhandled proved to contain the same sharp, well-written prose I've come to expect from SA Reid. Though this is a short story, it is not in any way "unfinished". I loved both characters, particularly the burly Irish cop (Irish + cop = my husband and thus yum), and the way they complimented each other. The lust and love both felt very real, and the ending tickled me.

Definitely an erotic read with a strong element of domination however, not too over the top. The characters were believable and enjoyable. The contemporary plot was also genuine and plausible; in an earthy, animalistic kind of way. The overall experience was entertaining, captivating and stimulating.
Mike
Its more like a short story, but it has a lot going for it. Lots of fun sexual situations, and not exactly consensual at first. The story is good, but this is one where the sex scenes really stand out from the plot line. A great read and I wouldn't mind reading a bit more on the two main characters.
Da'ad
Aw! How cute is that? I loved this. The sex was unrealistic sometimes (concerning lubrication and prepping, as usual) but hot all the same. Enjoyable characters, dialogue, plot (when there is one) and sex. Oh, and it's short without feeling short. It's that enjoyable!
Mark
Only 55% of the "booklet" is the story. The rest is a "preview" which I absolutely hate when it takes up 45% of the supposed 65 pages. It ticks me off so much that I NEVER read them.
Cris
That was ridiculous. Really, really fun, but ridiculous.

If you're looking for a short, hot read with little to no character or plot development, I do recommend this one :)
Chris
3.5 stars. Steamy short m/m romance about a cop who meets a young doctor in a most unusual way, giving a whole new meaning to "closeted". Be aware that there's dubious consent in this one.
Mandi
3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. Very hot and sexy short story. The smexxin was HOT and almost crosses the border of consent.

Enjoyable for a quick, dirty read. ;)
Deeze
Sadly not my kind of story. Stephen and Brendan were interesting characters and the Date scene was great. A little more of that and a little less of the sex and I'd of been happy lol.
Diane
A novella featuring a working-class Boston cop and a geeky new doctor, who meets the cop in a rather unusual way.

Way too short. Total rip off. Basically an ad for two other books. So sad since I really enjoyed SA's other books.
Azure Jones
Very short, only 53% is the actual story. But nonetheless I liked it, and loved the surprise ending. Hot.
kasjo_peja
The story suffers from its shortness (only 46 pages on my Kindle). There is no space to develop complex characters and harsh but realistic world that I admired in S.A. Reid previous books. "Manhandled" is an erotic short story that borders on porn. (view spoiler)[There are four loosely stringed sexual encounters with a varied degree of BDSM, non-con and voyeurism elements. They are hot and nobody gets hurt, but sex between total strangers is not everybody's thing. (hide spoiler)] I like to think...more
