I haven't read the first in this series. Though at times I felt left out, it still struck me as interesting. I think that the plot seems deep, but I really wish I had read the first book. For a paranormal type book, there wasn't enough Vampire slaying. The story seems to revolve too much around the main character and her relationships than anything. Great follow-up novel to Spiral X; if you enjoyed the first one at all, you’ll love this one.

Right away the story pulls you in and treats you to a fast-paced ride that not only keeps you reading late into the night, it also invests you in the success and well-being of Cheryl and her companions to an even greater level than before. You care what happens to her and the others (or actively want some of the more evil ones to meet an untimely end!).

Cheryl brought the heat with plenty of twists and turns to go around in the second installment of the Eternal War series. She is still our wonderful yet totally messed up in the head heroine. She may even be a little crazier than in the first book. All the characters we've come to know and love are back so some have a bigger role than others.
