This series makes me so emotional, it's ridiculous. <spoiler>I'm just absolutely dreading the next book, 'cause of L and such. I wish I had never gone through the tag for Death Note on Tumblr, or listened to the soundtracks on youtube because I've been absolutely spoiled. So now I'm just completely dreading what's to come.</spoiler>
But... fantastic book. Misa's pretty interesting and watching Light being... Light is interesting as well, for he's really a great guy when he's not More...

The sixth volume in the Death Note manga series picks up with Rem's reunion with Misa, and the return of her memories with the Death Note. As the task force continues to close in on who the new Kira is, Misa will have to make she continues to be thought of as innocent until Light's secret plan is fulfilled.
Things definitely pick up in this volume with the task force closing in quickly on the capture of the new Kira. It was nice to see the old Misa back, as well as Rem, and I was glad More...

If you haven't read the previous volumes of Death Note, I'd really recommend that you do. Spoilers ahead!
A third Kira has appeared, complicating an already impossible case. L's main suspects, Light and Misa, have already been subjected to confinement and the killings have gone on without them. Light has given up the Death Note, lost his memories of his actions as Kira, and is now on the task force to find Kira, even though he's spending every minute handcuffed to L. As the task f More...

Overall Rating: A++
Synopsis: A psychological/supernatural thriller created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and illustrator Takeshi Obata, Death Note follows a high school student, Light Yagami, who discovers the notebook of a shinigami that allows him to kill anyone by writing the victim's name while picturing his or her face. Light's goal is to create and lead a world cleansed of evil using the book, but where is the line between an honorable goal, and mass murder?

This is probably my favorite single book in the entire series (save the last one). I didn't find the Yotsuba Group so interesting at the beginning of this arc, but this incredible chase to catch the Second Kira is just the most thrilling and gripping bit of manga I've ever read!
Seriously, you have not seen the power of manga until you read this-- you'd never guess that such a stationary seeming graphic medium can have so much movement, so much action! I kid you not, it's as thrillin More...

Again, this series leaves me perplexed, you get some very excellent volumes and some very weak ones. This one is neither weak nor excellent. It starts off very slow and boring and ends with a bang. I'm not sure whether or not I will continue with this series. The only reason I continue reading this is because I check them out at the Public library, if I had to buy it, I would have stopped a long time ago.

I had a REALLY hard time finishing this book. It was exceptional, but it was like watching a movie when you know what might happen and you have a really hard time looking.... but you must watch. In a book, it means it is hard to pick it back up, but when you do you must finish it. I look forward to volume 7.

This novel was extremely suspenseful. Besides that a boatload of new and deeply interesting characters were introduced. Ohba somehow mangaged to mix humor in to the horror filled novel. Revelations were made on every page, and I felt like I was an investigator, tryign to figure who the new Kira was.

I love love love love love love (i think you get the point) this series. Aside from just being awesome and fast paced, you have to admit, these covers kick butt. Light is so cute, you just want to hug him even though he wants none of it and will probably just kill you after.

With fewer lengthy passages of theorising and speculation, this volume gets back to the action and raises the stakes once again. It feels a lot more like the first few volumes and it's all the better for it.
Maybe it has something to do with more shinigami involvement?!

So maybe it was starting to drag as the investigation basically pondered "how to get Kira LEGALLY" as well as meeting L's silly prerequisites. Yet it started to get a ton of suspense in the last two chapters. I kind of really want to continue reading.

Started a lot like vol. 5, but then got a lot more interesting towards the end. They wrapped up the Yotsuba tangent rather nicely, I thought. I liked the drama of the car chase and the trade for the shinigami eyes... very suspenseful and engaging.

Continue to be surprised by the way quirky behavior/sense of humor is worked into the story; particularly between Misa, L. and Light. This vol. follows the team pursuing the third Kira. L. begins to suspect the Shinigami may be real.

In this book of "Death note" Light is locked up by L and Light's farther because they think he is Kira so they keep him in a cell and keep him there for at least 3 days thats when Light lets his shimigami and his death note.

A great series, but this volume was a little lower in plot and character. I don't like how they have made Misa into a partial idiot. Is this just a reflection of a male chauvinistic culture in Japan?

This book was very hard for me to get through. It wasn't as exciting compared to the first 5 books. I liked it better when Light was Kira, he was more interesting than he is now, even though he was kind of creepy as Kira. This new Kira is very boring and predictable. I'm also disappointed with Misa. I love her clothes, but her face is very plain compared to Light and L.

Starting to be a bit of a slog now, this series. It keeps going back and forth, who's Kira, who's not. I may have to give it up.

Things? Still wonky. L still doesn't trust Light, which is as it should be, but now also he's decided to go after Kira whatever the costs while the ex-police guys are like, um, shouldn't we try to stop him killing people even if we can't catch him? So there is a split, and Light gets caught on L's side even though he doesn't like it on account of the handcuffs that keep him attached to L at all times. Oh, and also on account of his girl-thing Misa being really excited about being used as bait to

I really hope Light gets his memories back, it was more fun and way more exciting when it was him versus L! Off to the seventh volume soon.

Still brilliant as ever and ending on a climax in preperation for the next... roll on vol. 7!

what's most impressive at this juncture in the series is how amazingly well the series continues to hold you in suspense. the first couple books set up a really interesting bases for story which the next two bring to a great level of psychological suspense and cat and mouse play without identifying the cat or the mouse, but volleying positions... which amounts to thinking that there is no way the series has twelve books in it at such a pace, not the case, at least not so far. i am pretty much in
