In the second volume of Death Note, we get to see Light Yagami further experiment with the powers and capabilities of the Death Note. Raye Penber, the FBI agent assigned to investigate him, and his fiance, a former-FBI agent herself, become inextricably wrapped up in the Kira mystery. L, an enigmatic recluse pursuing Kira, reveals himself to the task force and begins closing in on Light as a suspect.

Anyone who likes light psycological horror
What I like about this manga is the battle of wits between Light, a.k.a Kira, and the mysterious and intense L. who is trying to capture him. Personally, I think L. is a bit more interesting than the main character, Light. But that may be because L. is a distinctly unusual individual and, moreover, a mystery. So, I want to know more about him, whereas the books are about Light so he’s ‘on stage’ all the time and about as mysterious as butter. I like to find out what’s behind a character,...more

Still fairly interesting concept, but there seem to be too many scenes where the main characters explain things, seemingly to each other, but rather obviously to the reader. I like the moral ambiguity of it all, but I'm not sure I'm captivated enough to keep up with the series.

More plot twists and surprises in this volume. I can see why this series has such an appeal--the characters are all pretty unpredictable and clever, which adds to the enjoyment.

While I liked volume 1, volume two rapidly gets more intense and more disturbing. Kira becomes more unhinged, more innocent people die as he tries to cover his tracks, and L makes some more important deductions. I'm liking this a lot more than I'd like to admit.

This is perhaps my favorite manga.
It starts getting somewhat dull around volumes 4 & 5, though.
I'm yet to finish the series, but I really enjoyed the first few volumes.

Great art; I love how everything is drawn. And the storyline actually makes you think, which is always a plu in my book.

Still liking this one, not sure if I can wait out the insanely long holds list or if I'll end up buying volume three.

Almost as fun as Vol. 1, but just as addictive. I'm really fascinated with the morality of Light's character.

Even better than vol. 1. Amazing cat & mouse detective works, far beyond what I would have expected.

It hits you over the head a bit with its clunky language, but the story's good. A very quick read.

Not quite as good as the first volume, but still decent. Not really my cup of tea.

The plot thickens... I still think the shinigami is really creepy looking...
