Thirtysomething Eva had a choice to make: shut her big mouth and work directly for Ben Hathaway—the übersexy, incredibly arrogant, reclusive owner of Hathaway Pharmaceuticals. Or tell him he’s an ass like she’s dying to do and get herself fired.

Giving up, though, would leave her penniless, land her back home with a father who hates her, and without the only job she’s ever...more

Eva is a IT technician for Hathaway Pharmaceuticals. She is attractive and very independent. Her job is her way out of her adoptive parents’ home and she intends to stay away from her father’s less than loving home.

Ben Hathaway is the CEO of Hathaway and severely agoraphobic. He even lives in an apartment at the top of corporate headquarters. He is also handsome and charismatic.

Eva is very good at her job and is the obvious choice to fill in for her boss when he must take some time off. Her firs...more

“I’ll never let you walk away from me again. My life isn’t upstairs. You are my life, and wherever you are is my home, phobia be damned.”

WOW!

I picked up this book hoping to get my usual dose of giggling and swooning over a cute love story between the boss and his employee, but this book offered A WHOLE LOT MORE. Not complaining, though.

Crossing Hathaway, Jocelyn Adams' first book I've read, is NOT YOUR TYPICAL ROMANCE NOVEL.

This story is about two flawed characters. Evangeline "I dont...more

After reading this book, lets just say that I wont ever again have that same feeling about the rain I did earlier. :D

LOOOOOOVED IT!!! I couldn't get enough of Eva! She's just a lovable little minx with dirty smart-ass mouth. I love when heroine has that kind of attitude, like she doesn't give a poop what the rest of the world thinks or say. And I also like the fact that our hero wasn't a classic alpha male, well maybe a little, but he was more like a lost puppy, who needed to be rescued . . . an...more

This was a very good book. I enjoyed all of the nerdy references. I haven't read any other books by this author but the writing was very good and I'm tempted to pick up other books. It had a great plot, wonderful character development and a really good ending. I would love a sequel to see what happens more with the relationship but I can live with this being the only book for Hathaway.

For what it's worth, this is the best book in its genre I have ever read. The ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars is because I have an issue with overly sappy men in books like this.

Maybe it was the raging fever (I read it while sick), but it had me in stitches and I highly recommend it if you are in a mood for a romp.

Best. Contemporary. Ever!

It's a shame that Ms. Adams doesn't write more in this genre. Her voice & style are perfect for today's romance stories, especially when the MC has a bit of snark within. ;)

Loved the characters, their back stories that slowly revealed with just enough teasing to make us wonder who they really are at their core. The inner turmoil was palatable, the external heart thumping and at times cringe-worthy. And the sexual tension? Kick bum. All I can say, is you're going to s...more

I normally read paranormal romance so I didn't automatically get this as soon as it came out. My mistake. I should have known better. All of Ms. Adams' books have been fabulous and this one was no different. I loved the characters, their stories and the whole book in general. I read it all in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down. Awesome read, I totally recommend it! Wait, is it raining... I ummm think I have something I need to do...but you'll have to read to find out what ;)

All of Ms. Adams books are good. This book is no exception. You can see the time and effort crafting each story by the way the story comes out. Effortlessly! Don't mark this book to read... buy it. Then read it, it's worth it.

I love strong female leads. Eva is witty, smart, & independent but flawed. She's a well-rounded character who is so easy to like.
Ben is an eccentric millionaire who has a MAJOR issue. He reads so... well, real.
That's one of the beauties of Jocelyn Adams. Her character can walk right off the page. They will certainly end up in your heart.

This book had me torn in two.

Part of me loved the story and really connected with the characters.

The other half thought it was like so many others I have read. So I can't rate it 5 stars. Sorry..

But it was cute and worth the read.

I rated it 4.5 stars

Did not finish. Wasn't a bad story. It just didn't grab me. My attention span is short and I need an immediate connection to the characters.
