I do not normally read historical romance books that are set in America. I prefer reading the historical romance book’s set in England. However, after reading this book I might just change my mind at least for this author. MK has written a book that grabs the reader’s attention and refuses to let go.

However, after reading this book I might just change my mind at least for this author. MK has written a book that grabs the reader’s attention and refuses to let go.

Isabella is trying to overcome the death of her parents while trying to take care of her little brother Andrew. She has taken a teaching position in Montana. She is moving away from everything she has every known and every person. However the people that she once called friends will not see or speak with her any longer. However, as I always say when something like this happens in real life, “Their loss, and your gain.”

Gabriel is the middle child whose parents were cattle ranchers. Okay, I admit this is one part of history I would love to go back and experience. Can you imagine going on a cattle drive, thousands and thousands of miles on horseback, sleeping under the stars, cooking over an open flame, not having to worry about being anywhere but behind the cattle. Gabriel sounds like a man that would help anyone in need. In my mind, he is tall well over 6 foot, sandy blond hair, light gray eyes, nothing but muscle, with a heart of gold.

Gabriel meets Isabella and is intrigued by her and Andrew. He wonders what their story is and why they seem to be running from the past. Isabella is just trying to lead a normal life, to allow Andrew to grow up in to a wonderful person and give him an education.

This is the second book in the series. I have not had a chance to read the first book. However it is in the TBR pile. With that being said, click on over to Amazon and get this book. I am so glad I read this book. The author gives the readers just enough information to make you wonder about the first series. She makes it sound so interesting. Yes, a lot of the characters are carried over from the first book, but that is the best part about a series. Readers get to find out what happened to the pervious characters. The only drawback I found to this book was I cannot wait for the third book. I will have to change my TBR pile around to read the first book in the series.

A good story can have a little bit of romance, a little bit of adventure, and a little bit of mystery all rolled up into one. Ms. McClintock’s Gallagher’s Hope delivers all that and more.

This story moves at a very steady pace. It could have gone faster without the narrative on the past and emotions but then the story would not have been so good. The reader will not find it hard to keep reading and finishing the book.

There is not just one story in this book. That is what I like about it. The author brings together several storylines and weaves them together in a masterful manner that leaves the end of book promising the reader even more.

Ms. McClintock’s writing is engaging and keeps the reader focused on the story. Her style is simplistic and entertaining.

I loved the way the author tactfully and expertly allows intimate scenes without having the need to describe them in detail. Just a few words tells the reader of a bedroom scene. The author focuses on the emotions and relationships being built.

This is a book I highly recommend for those that enjoy western romances without too much focus on the romantic side of things. This story comes with action and adventure.

This is the second book in the Gallagher Series. The first is Gallagher's Pride; which dealt about Ethan Gallagher. I haven’t had the chance to read the first book in the series, but that did not hamper my experience with this book. There were some references to the first story and I am sure that there are a lot of details about the Gallagher family in the first book. However, this book can almost stand on its own. But I also have to say that the idea of weaving in three different stories (or sub-plots) in three different books, but all under the same plot is great.

The characters of this installment (remember all of them are new to me) are brilliant. I love Isabelle for her strength to move in and settle in a foreign place because that was only right thing she could do by her brother. She takes whatever is thrown at her and takes the practical solution. I love the dynamics between Ibby and Andy. I love Gabriel, because he is so caring, gentle and patient! A perfect Gentleman. (There you go – I am in love with another fictitious character!!) But what I loved the most was the rest of the Gallagher family. They were in no means the perfect family – they had their own quirky little things and faults – and that’s what made them so believable! I loved the whole bunch.

The author has pretty straightforward way of storytelling. She builds up her characters and lets them grow throughout in whatever small way. However, I couldn’t help but feel that there was something missing. That could be because I delved into the second part directly and anyway I am one of those people who is always looking for more in a book in some way or the other.

This is fairly fast read and I finished reading it in one sitting. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a Love Story.

WOW! Gallagher's Hope was SO much better than I was expecting! After reading Gallagher's Pride, the first book in the Gallagher's series, I knew I wanted to read Gabriel's story - as he is by far my favorite of the Gallagher siblings. However, I wasn't expecting to enjoy the story this much! I didn't want to put it down and was able to finish it very quickly! I can hardly wait to read the third book.

For people who are easily offended by cursing, I want to make sure that they know that this book...more

I love the Gallagher family and I hope others have the chance to know them and love them as much as I do. This is the second book of the series and the third will be out next year. I know that a lot of readers would like to strangle me because of the ending on this book--I'm making them wait for the conclusion to some of these story lines! So I was thrilled when I learned that the second novel in the series was going to be his story and I couldn't wait for it to come out. I tend to get nervous sometimes about being too excited for novels because, what if they don't live up to my expectations? What if they lose my interest and I don't really want to read the next installment? Well, I am happy to announce that this book did not fail me in those categories:)
Gabriel is such a likable guy--kind-hearted, gentleman, and easy on the eyes. I enjoyed getting to know his character better in this novel as well as visit with the rest of the Gallagher clan (Ethan, Brenna, Eliza, and Mabel) and also meet some new characters (Isabelle and Andrew). The story begins when Isabelle moves away from New Orleans with her younger brother after a family tragedy that left them with both of their parents deceased. She takes a teaching job in Montana where she is greeted with open arms by the community and one Gabriel Gallagher. He provides housing for her and helps her settles in, as he is instantly attracted to her. Isabelle keeps her guard up, not wanting to get to attached to anyone, but can't help feeling an attraction to him as well. When Isabelle is hit with a bombshell that threatens to tear her apart from the only family member she has left, Gabriel steps up to the plate and offers her his hand in marriage to keep her and her brother together. It was sweet watching these two grow from a marriage of convenience to a marriage of lasting love. And this book contains one of the most simple, sweetest, romantic lines I have ever read in a novel. Maybe it's just me but I absolutely LOVED the part where Isabelle and Gabriel are alone in his room and he wraps his arms around her from behind, cradling her to his chest and asks, "Isabelle, will you keep me?" I literally "Awed" out loud when I read that. It was just so sweet and it made me fall in love with Gabriel even more.
Now for those of you who have read "Gallagher's Pride" you know that Ms. McClintock left us with a bit of a cliff hanger with Brenna and her search for her brother. We learn more about that in "Gallagher's Hope" as well as deal with more trouble from the Gallagher's evil rancher neighbor (and Brenna's grandfather) Nathan Hunter. I swear, what he does in this novel makes me hate him even more than I did in the first book and I can't wait until the third book in this series comes out so I can find out if he gets what's coming to him.
All in all this was a really great read and I enjoyed it so much that I had a hard time putting it down--a.k.a. I read it in one day:) If you enjoy historical westerns with a little bit of romance, a little bit of mystery and suspense and a whole lot of twists and turns than you are sure to enjoy this book.(less)

This was the 2nd in a series - 3rd book hasn't been released yet. I enjoyed this very much - BUT I felt the end was so up in the air with 2 separate story lines ????? What is that about? Apparently this book was just recently released, and I am unable to find out anything about the next book coming (Gallagher's Choice). I really need to have some conclusion made on these story lines!!

I really liked this book even better then the first one. It was a page turner and full of events and surprises. The characters were very real. There wasn't alot of romance, but enough to keep it interesting. I only had a problem with the quick ending. Cliffhanger for sure, but there was to much left hanging to have to wait for book three. Too many questions left unanswered.
Can't wait for Gallagher's Challenge now.
