MacMillan's version of Penguins rip-off serial series. 5 novelettes so far, 25-40 pages each, at $2.99 per pamphlet. That's $15 for roughly 160 pages and not yet finished. How can we ignore such a deal?

This concept of novella series that seen to go on...and on...and on to tell one story seems like nothing more than a ploy to make money. Most of these short stories could be interwoven into one full-length book.

They say this is the new Fifty Shades of Grey, but having finished the four short stories in a span of two hours, I don't think so.
Yes, Jeremiah and Christian are both very powerful, possessive, and "broken" men, but that's about it. Remi lacks the care and softness Christian often showed Anastasia as Remi showed Lucy. While reading, I often thought that he was like ordering a dog to sit or to roll over, instead of a partner whom he wanted to have hot sex with.
The shortness of the story is also...more

Holy hotness! This book is hot hot hot. I could not stop reading and wondering what was going to happen next. Everything moves so fast in the book at times I was a little lost, but caught up fast.

We picked this up when it was free, and think it works well as a teaser for the whole story — more than you get from a Kindle sample, satisfying on its own, but intriguing enough to draw you in and get you to buy the novel. Lucy is a temp worker struggling to make ends meet and save up for law school. She’s intelligent and passionate and proud, but a little withdrawn and lonely and clearly fallen upon hard times. I have to admit it had my attention from the start. Lucy is a tempt struggling to make ends meet. And she is very attracted to the handsome stranger she sees riding in the elevator everyday. The story opens with them being the last two in the elevator and he makes a move on her, very steamy. She is embarrassed and gets off two floors below her normal one and then continues on to work. There is nothing worse than reading reviews with low marks saying they were told this book was like fifty shades - SERIOUSLY!!!
First of all, all authors are different, and yes a lot of books are going ot have some similarities for fifty shades - because fifty shades was a good series, and covered a lot of ground for the BDSM and romance departments. So get over it!!

not sure what's the point of this story... totally ridiculous!
I can totally get the fantasy in a girls head about a stranger in the elevator... that's ok...
call me old fashioned... but if a guy (as dreamy as this one...) would tell me in the elevator "I can smell your arousal", I think I would drop on the floor laughing my ass or slap him in the face... come on! what kind of pick up line is that one?

You know, I am a little disappointed at the ending. Sara Fawkes you almost had me at the 5 star. OMG! That is until she did the stupid thing got all caught up in her own feelings. Anything He Wants (Dominated by the Billionaire) is a $.99 short story on Amazon. It is scorching hot sex with a dominant stranger in semi-public. My phone almost burst into flames while I read it. This is great for a quick 20 minute read to get you “in the mood”. It definitely has a Fifty Shades feel to it.
But I have a HUGE problem with it. It is the first chapter to a book, and leaves you hanging. Then, you have to buy each additional chapter (abt 35 pages) for $2.99 each!!!! WTF? Write a book...more

Since this book was only 25 pages, I really don't have much to say. At this point, the story isn't anything I haven't read before. It's basically an introduction to the characters and the series. In order to get a really good feel for the characters, I may need to read the next book in the series.

While the storyline was interesting and intriguing, the EXTREME brievity of each book in the series was EXASPERATING! I was so angry when the book ended after 30-60 pages. Although there was another one to start reading right away, it was still soooo VERY frustrating. If that was Mrs. Fawkes' intention (to make readers feel almost like they had an addiction, just CRAVING to start the next book in the series right away) she most decidedly succeeded. There wasn't anything special about this read for me, and really this was more like a teaser not a stand alone novelette. There was very little in the way of plot development, and we heard almost nothing from 'the stranger'. Most of the book consisted of the main character whining in her head about wanting to have sex with 'the stranger', or having sex with him and then whining about it afterward.

Considering that this was supposed to be an erotic fantasy (as that is what most erotic short stories are) I think it was fantastic. I love the story and am currently enjoying the second one. Ms. Fawkes is a talented writer and while I would have loved to see it all put together in a novel also, the breaking it down into pieces is brilliant as it keeps up the suspense and intrigue. It keeps you coming back for more.

I loved this book!! I was looking for something to read on amazon,since I had read Fifty Shades, and this was one that was recommended. I really did not know what to expect, but what I got was awesome!!! I could not believe what I was reading at first... I thought it was a dream she was having, and as I read on, I realized it wasn't. This is exactly why I don't like novellas. Absolutely no character development, and practically nonexistent story line. Unless you count a stranger who assaults a woman in an elevator and for some reason this doesn't bother her. He comes off as an sex offender and she comes off as a slut. But the more we get to know them the worse it gets. He's actually her boss(yes, that's the big plot twist) and he now sexually harasses her and offers her a job. I can't believe I'm buying this set of books each only being like 30 pages. These all should be put together into one book instead of buying them separately. By the time I am finished, this is going to be an expensive book. Shame on the publisher for doing this and shame on me for being a dumb ass for buying them.

Update: Everyone should know before beginning this series till the bitter end of the 5th book that Fawkes rewards her fans that payed for each novella and stuck through 5 frustrating books.... a crappy half-assed cliffhanger that will give you no satisfaction.

Sara Fawkes has always loved spinning tales but her romantic roots come from sneaking her mother's old Johanna Lindsay books from the dresser drawer. One who's been writing since she was a little girl (and has the home made books from preschool to prove it), she loves creating stories and characters and interesting messes for them to get into... and for the handsome guy to get the girl in the end....more
