Being a thirty-something woman who loves cruises, this was a novel I could actually relate to. The story is about two thirty-somthing women taking a cruise, Aimee Anderson and Jemma Jordan. Aimee is the quieter and more grounded of the two, and she is the dominant character. Aimee's slightly embarrassing mother, a romantic novelist, Marcie Marcello, is also with them. Their favourite boyband from their teenage years, Bon Voyage, are the cruise ship's entertainment for the fortnight, while at the...more

This is the exciting brand new novel from Michelle Betham.

Aimee Anderson and best friend Jemma are two normal girls from the north east of England. Who along with Aimee’s mother, the larger than life Marcie, are about to spend two weeks on holiday together in the Mediterranean, on an all inclusive cruise.

Back in the 1990’s Aimee and Jemma had been massive fans of the popular boy band Bon Voyage. The band had had huge success and like Aimee and Jemma are also from the north east of England. The b...more

This book was good for an escape from my normal reading genre. It made me feel old though which doesn't happen often. The heroine is 33 year old chick and I'm 30 and she was letting her inner teenager out while stuck on a cruise ship with a popular boy band from the early 90's. Ugh, I felt old when I realized that the boy bands I listened to were closing in on their 40's and well, that just didn't sit very well. Anyway, back to the book.

This book has a lot of communication issues between the mai...more

No rating for this book, as I couldn't finish it. I really wanted to like this book, because I was a die hard fan of boy bands in the late 90s. Unfortunately this book didn't work for me. It read like fan fiction, which probably wouldn't have been a problem if it had been subjected to some editing. The POV shifts and extreme run-on sentences were a tad irritating.

Also, I was bothered by the fact that Danny was still married. I get that his marriage was on the rocks and he intended to divorce hi...more

I think I purchased this book for free on Amazon .... It was ok , two stars, just ok. Was looking for something "light " to read during a very long series with tons of subplots and this filled the need but I didnt even finish it ...... Not invested in the characters at all ....

I wanted to stop reading this about 15 pages in but I persevered. It was a fluffy and predictable read and that's the best summary I can come up with.

I abandoned this one. It started ok and I thought it would be an easy and undemanding read, but it became so repetitive that I got bored with it.

More in the vein of Michelle's 'Too Much Trouble' this is a light and comic read. Perfect for a holiday or if dreaming of one! Great characters and dialogue and an ending that ties everything up but leaves you wanting more. A frothy, fun piece of chicklit.
