This book is a "prequel" to Between the Rage and Grace. In my opinion it would have been better to have Behind the Rage as the first book in the series for a couple of reasons.
1. The pace and suspense are more intense.
2. It explains a few oddities that (to me) needed more explanation in the 1st book.
I'm slightly impressed with how the author covered so much and wrapped up a span of three decades and I gave this 4 stars. I would have given it 5 but I deducted one for having to buy the third book.
