I read this so long ago and never reviewed it, but even now I think about it. So I'm gonna try and write something because this book is awesome.

Okay, first off I think I got this for free or .99. I was NOT expecting this. It was seriously incredible. NOT for the faint of heart as it deals with rape, kidnapping, BDSM, menege trois, stalking, control issues, etc.

Erica Chilson, I could NOT put this down. I don't know what time I started it (late), but I didn't stop until I was done at 3am. I wanted more. Well done. Great story, great pace, incredible everything.

I haven't read many BDSM book but the ones I have have mostly been from the sub's or an onlooker's perspective. I cant wait to read the next book! Katya is a very interesting heroine with a dark background. She exudes confidence but with just the right touch of insecurity/self loathing in a main character to make her someone I can relate to & get behind. this book has great plot twists and OMG revelations that keep you from putting it down! Definitely worth the read!!! not to mention a plethora of interesting hot male characters! :-) reminiscent of good old Anita Blake to me...i'm a fan!

After reading Restraint by Erica Chilson, I am still feeling topsy turvy. In a good way. Ms. Chilson has written a book that kept me guessing for a large portion of time. Wow, I have a mixed bag of emotions about this book. I couldn't put it down, but I don't know if that should be taken as a compliment or not. I kept reading with that kind of pull you get when you see a horrific crash and you should look away, but morbid curiosity gets the better of you. To me, this books seems like it has trouble figuring out what kind of book it wants to be. When you start in on it, you think you are reading a BDSM erotica. However, as you continue on, you quickly see that it's not a traditional BDSM story and also there's the added conflict of the female character's, Katya, trauma that she survived when she was younger. The book tries to fuse these two aspects together, but it creates a story that is unsure of its own identity.

Half the time I was reading this book I felt it was the stupidest piece of garbage I've ever read and the other half had me so completely hooked. I really enjoyed this book. It has a very dark premise and I found it to be a very hot read. It isn't one I would recommend to everyone because of the darker and sexual themes in the book: if you only like consensual, vanilla, heterosexual sex- steer clear. If you like your erotica hot, dark and twisted- this is your book!

I was iffy about this book at first. Katya was a little too "hard" for me, if that makes sense. But once the story started to develop, I found myself unable to put it down! I think I have a thing for emotionally flawed characters, and Erica Chilson created them so well. Everyone in this book is messed up, and I kind of loved that.

The mystery that was woven into this story was pretty exhilarating. Even when I KNEW what was going on, there was still a part of my brain that told me I could be wrong More...

This is very difficult to review as the content was really disturbing.

I'm not going to post spoilers. It was a completely dissatisfying ending, which I'm sure it will lead to the next book. I'm not sure if I'll be reading it since this was so disturbing for me.

I could give this book two stars on editing alone. A couple of the areas with edits that were problems:

I'm not sure how to rate or review this book. The book managed to keep me interested, even though I figured out who Master Ez was immediately, and figured the rest of the mystery out soon after. I'm not 100% sure if the reader was meant to figure this all out early on or not. But I can say, it started pissing me off that it was taking Katya so long to figure it all out.

I really don't know what to say about this book. It's not that I didn't like it. I did enjoy the storyline and the bit-by-bit disclosure, but something was missing for me. There were parts of the story that definitely didn't work for me...too much telling and not enough natural development maybe. I was up until midnight to finish reading this book. It feels like more than a little over 100 pages when you are reading. It was nicely done, good story line. The game has twist and turns through out. As you go through reading it, you pick up signs and start to guess who is what, doing what to whom. It is not until the end , all the pieces come together.

When I first started reading I was expecting the usual BDSM story line but was pleasantly surprised on the level of suspense the storyline carried throughout the book.
