In Off-Duty Angel (Otherworld #10.4),
dark witch and half-demon Eve Levine is desperate for a little entertainment while her lover, Kristof Nast, is detained in afterlife court—enough to volunteer an extra week’s worth of angel corps duty just to pass the time. Luckily something even better comes up: a real celestial bounty-hunter mission to trail a shaman, someone who...more

When I requested this ebook on NetGalley, I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting, there was no description of the content. But it's Kelley Armstrong and the cover says two Otherworld stories. So, naturally, I assumed there would be two completely new Otherworld stories named The Hunter and The Hunted. Yeah, I was wrong.

This e-special consists of:

1) Short story Stalked (about 20 pages) previously published in My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon. As a proper series fan, of course, I have already r...more

The Review:

I am a huge fan of Kelley Armstrong’s writing style, unfortunately I haven’t read anything by her since Waking the Witch and I have forgotten some key elements to the series since then. It is really hard to talk about the stories when the synopsis above describes the story perfectly – and without giving away too much...more

The Hunter and the Hunted are two short stories from Kelley Armstrong's the Otherworld series. Penguin also threw in the first seven chapters of Thirteen, and let me just say that I cannot wait for that book. I've had it pre-ordered for awhile now, but reading these first few chapters really sold me on it. I'm counting the days until it's released. The two short stories are good, and I always love getting more Elena and Clay. While I enjoyed them, I enjoyed the sneak peek of Thirteen more.

MY REVIEW
I think the cover best represents Stalked with the image of the wolf in the trees. Stalked is actually the first novella in this e-special. As a Kelley Armstrong fan I love anything at all with Clay and Elena in it. Even though I have read this novella before within My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon.
Both Clay and Elena are on top form having their honeymoon both desperate to keep the other happy and not admit to being bored in St Louis. Everything is getting very boring for them until a...more

THE HUNTER AND THE HUNTED (Women of the Otherworld) Anthology by Kelley Armstrong-release date June 12, 2012

STALKED

STALKED is the first short story in Kelley Armstrong’s anthology THE HUNTER AND THE HUNTED. Originally released in the anthology My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon, written from Clay’s perspective STALKED follows Clay and Elena on their honeymoon in St. Louis.

Clay was hoping that their honeymoon was perfect, but only a couple of days into their vacation, Elena is bored. Not that sh...more

Disclaimer: Received an ARC via Netgalley.

I would love to say that I have been a fan of Armstrong’s Otherworld series since the beginning. Sadly, however, that wouldn’t be true. I started reading the series with the books that introduced Paige and the other witches. I quickly become a fan and brought the other books. While I’m sad to see the series end, I am happy that Armstrong has enough sense to end it and resist the temptation to keep writing the series simply to make money. In some ways, Ar...more

STALKED was a story that I was familiar with. I am such a fan of Armstrong's work that I buy anthologies just for her stories. If you have My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon, you already own this story. What I liked most about it is that it is told by Clayton Danvers. It tells about a honeymoon trip that he planned to St. Louis, which seems an odd honeymoon destination for a couple of werewolves, and which is turning out to be less exciting than either of them had hoped. Less exciting that is unt...more

I love anything Otherworld related, including short stories and sneak peeks. There are two novellas and the first six chapters of "13" included in this ebook special. I'd never buy an ebook just to get a sneak peek at a story that's coming out soon, but I would spend $$ on anything Clay and Elena related! The first short story is a Clay and Elena story that was originally included in "My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon" and it's just as much fun this second time around. I love getting Clay's POV...more

Okay... I didn't read the 13 preview, because I don't like to tease myself like that, so I'm mostly rating this as high as I am because THIS is what you are supposed to give your fans. Two short stories, once previously published and the other new. Both have an actual plot, even if they weren't ground breaking.

STALKED was good the first time I read it. It's the story of Clay and Elena's Honeymoon and the trouble they run in to in St. Louis. It really doesn't advance the series, but it's a fun l...more

Stalked is a fun little tale starring the awesome Clay and Elena. I didn’t realise when I requested this for review that it was previously featured in an anthology, which meant I had read it before. However, I didn’t really mind reading it again—especially not with Clay as MC, because (let’s face it: who doesn’t love them a piece of Clay?). The only thing that bugged me a little was that I thought the opportunity of re-publishing could have been used to expand on the story a little. I mean, I un...more

This novella consists of two short stories plus a preview of the next book "Thirteen". The first, Stalked, has been published before but I hadn't read it. Clay, the pack enforcer and Elana, the only female were are finally on a honeymoon. Clay wants everything to be perfect to make up for the ruined wedding and honeymoon many years before but finds that Elana is being stalked by a mutt (non-pack werewolf) which upsets Clay, never a good thing. This story has a couple of twists which makes it fun...more

As the clock ticks down on the release of the last novel in the Otherworld series, Kelly Armstrong gives us this novella to tide us over until July. It features two short stories. "Off Duty Angel" is new. "Stalked" was previously released as part of My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon. I've read it before, but I enjoyed reading it again here.

"Stalked" is a Clay POV about his honeymoon with Elena. It's really important to him to get it just right. Elena didn't have the wedding of her dream...more

2 very short stories and a preview of Thirteen

Stalked
Clay and Elena are my all-time favorite alpha werewolf couple. In fact, they were my very first alpha werewolf pair. Since my first encounter with Clay and Elena, I’ve wanted MORE! I’ve gone on to read many wonderful urban fantasy series because of these two, but I’ll always jump at the chance to read a story about Clay and Elena.

Stalked is narrated from Clay’s point of view which is a treat in itself. His personality and his devot...more

I am a huge fan of Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series. I'm really sad that it's almost over, so I was incredibly excited when I saw this e-special was going to be available. Not only are there two short stories included, but there also is a large chunk of the opening chapters of Thirteen.

I had previously read Stalked a long time ago, but it was more than worth reading a second time. Clay and Elena are my top favorite characters in the othe...more

Brief overview:

You should know that I love Kelley Armstrong and I love this series. I've been actually sad just thinking the last book is coming out in about a month. So when I saw that this was coming out I actually got really excited. And then I looked at what the stories were about and I had one those moments where that bright smile falters a bit. You'll see why in my individual story review.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed this novella. It actually has two ve...more

Oh, how I love Kelley Armstrong's books! Right before the release of 13 (coming out July 24, 2012) she gives us a little teaser present with The Hunter and the Hunted. This collection contains two novellas, Stalked and Off-Duty Angel and plus a sneak peek of 13. All three are a great way to get ready for 13.

The first story is Stalked which was originally published in My Big, Fat Supernatural Honeymoon. Elena and Clayton are finally on their honeymoon and he wants to make it perfect for her. Howe...more

This post THIRTEEN e special features two shorts and a sample of the upcoming finale in the series.

In STALKED, which was previously printed in the collection MY BIG, FAT SUPERNATURAL HONEYMOON, Clayton and Elena have finally taken a break and an official honeymoon. Clay's doing his best to make it as special as he can even if that means hiding the fact that a mutt is tailing them. If he can deal with the man on his own, Elena will be none the wiser.

OFF-DUTY ANGEL finds Eve Levine on a special...more

So this are two nice short stories, but don't expect too much. btw I haven't read the first two chapters of 13 included in this book, I will wait until I have the complete book.

The first short story is about Elena and Clay's honeymoon and some trouble they run into. It is nice to read about them again, Elena and Clay are my favourite couple in this series so I really enjoyed reading about them again. But well it is a short story so it is pretty short. I always think short stories feel a bit rush...more

Normally I don't review short stories, but I was checking Netgalley one day and I found the eGalley of The Hunter and The Hunted by Kelley Armstrong; I just request it without even reading the description (I am a fan of Kelley Armstrong's work = D). Then I noticed that there were 2 short stories, one of the stories - Stalked had already been published before, but I haven´t read it.

Stalked is about Elena and Clayton (my favorite couple in the series Women of the Otherworld), finally after 18 year...more

STALKED (Women of the Otherworld # 7.3)

Clay Danvers and Elena are in St. Louis for what is supposed to be their honeymoon. With their two year old twins (Kate and Logan) back home in New York with Jeremy, it’s time for a little relaxing fun which includes a Mutt hunt or two.

Clay and Elena have never truly been married. Jeremy believed that it would be too painful for Elena since she was bitten 18 years ago by Clay against her will after he proposed to her. It tool her 11 years to forgive him. N...more

I received this book from the publisher courtesy of Netgalley without realizing it was short stories that featured characters from the author's Otherworld series. Although I never read any of Armstrong's books, I'm definitely a fan now and I am adding her novels to my TBR pile.
Even without reading any of the previous novels, I was immediately pulled into the story about Clay trying to protect Elena during their honeymoon. This is the first book where an author actually made werewolves seem sexy...more

My English review

I was curious to see how these two short stories were when I saw it was possible to read them. The novel however presents the first chapters of Thirteen but I didn’t read it as I’m still at the seventh book in the series. Yes, I know… I’m a little late. (Remind me why I read this one in French? I don’t even have a good answer).

Regarding these two stories, I think the synopsis tells a lot so I won’t explain what is going on this time. I was really pleased by t...more

Read this review on my blog! --> The Hunter and The Hunted by Kelley Armstrong

If you’re a fan of this fantastic series, or if you’re new to this world, you will for sure enjoy this eSpecial with two novellas. Kelley Armstrong never disappoints!

In Stalked, we see Clay Danvers doing what he does best: kicking ass and taking names. And as always, being extremely sexy and prickly. It was so much fun seeing him trying to give Elena the most perfect honeymoon because he’s normally not like that. Bu...more

13 has to be the book I have been most looking forward to being released in my book worm years. As a self confessed fan girl of the Women of the Otherworld series I am happy to pick anything related to the series, and in this case it is a pair of bite sized short stories.

Stalked

Clay & Elena have to be my favourite character couple from the series so anything that is about them I am pretty much guaranteed to enjoy. Having said that, this is not a fantastic example of their story. I can't help...more

Two novellas, the first takes place when Elena and Clay slip away for a honeymoon only to find that they are being stalked by a lone werewolf. This was well worth reading as it's light but action packed tale which shows the characters at their best- working together but still maintaining their independant streaks. Funny too in places, if you like this couple you will enjoy this tale.

The second novella is a story about Eve and Kristoff. Kristoff gives Eve an assignment to help him with a case and...more

I have already read Stalked(7.3) in which we see Clay and Elena’s attempt at a honeymoon in which of course they encounter a mutt who wants to try his luck with them both. I really like this story, I love these two well established characters and I would probably like anything they were in. What I especially liked about this was that Clay was trying to keep it all from Elena so he wouldn’t spoil their honeymoon, it’s always fun being inside his head and this was no different. I love the w...more

I'd really only recommend this to the most loyal Kelley Armstrong fan. (I'm a big fan myself but even this tries my patience.)

This short collection really only contains two stories, one of which is a reprint ("Stalked"). But I suppose it's nice for people who missed out on the anthology it was originally published in and the werewolves really are Armstrong's best characters in the Otherworld series. The other story is about Eve, who I've always been lukewarm about.

The rest of the collection (abo...more

I liked this story as it gave me more insight into the "life" or I should say afterlife of Eve Levine and Kristof Nast and their relationship. The part I liked best, though was the glimpse of 13! Of course, now I'm more anxious than ever to read 13, except that it will be wrapping up one of my favorite series. I hope Ms. Armstrong continues to entertain us with more stories from this world she's created!

I also enjoyed Stalked, about the belated honeymoon of Elena and Clayton. It was a twist on...more

Kelley Armstrong has been telling stories since before she could write. Her earliest written efforts were disastrous. If asked for a story about girls and dolls, hers would invariably feature undead girls and evil dolls, much to her teachers' dismay. All efforts to make her produce "normal" stories failed.

Today, she continues to spin tales of ghosts and demons and werewolves, while safely locked a...more

“I won't make excuses for what I did. The truth is that your whole life can change with one split-second decision, and it doesn't matter if you told yourself you'd never do it or if you stepped into the moment with no intention of doing it. All it takes is for that one second of absolute panic when the solution shines right there in front of you, and you grab it... only to have it turn into ash in your hand. There is no excuse for what I did.” 4 people liked it
