Always a Bridesmaid by Cindi Myers

She's sworn off weddings…

After two failed relationships and six stints as a bridesmaid, Stephanie Ludlow is convinced she’s man-poison. So when her hormones point due south to her sexy—but not so charming—new landlord, she can't help the sparks that fly. It’s a good thing she’s declared a strict "no sex" policy, because Mike Brubaker might...more

When Stephanie gets evicted from her rental she must quickly find another place to stay. She's in a tough position, so when a room in a beautiful house is immediately available, she jumps at the chance and takes it. When she gets a look at her new landlord, Mike, sparks fly. He's totally sexy. Here's a bit of the scene from when they just meet:

She heard shuffling, fumbling sounds from the other side of the door, and then it opened to reveal a broad-shouldered, flat-stomached man dressed in f...more

Oh la la la... I wanted to be beStephaniein this story! Mike is dead sexy and a great father. So while Stephanie and Mike debated whether or not it was a good time for them to be in arelationship I wanted to barge in and bitch-slap Stephanie (no offensereally, just needed the distraction) and drag Mike out by his man parts to my car for a little one on one time. Great story, perfect writing, lovablecharacters, and one grade A quality beef what's not to like?

For me I pictured Mike as Gerard Butler...more

2.5 stars. This was another contemp romance standard. Not bad, not great.

The problem for me with books like this is that there's nothing really worth writing about in the review. It was a cute love story. There, I'm done. See?

Was it even all that cute? I don't know. Mike and Stephanie were thrown together because Mike needed someone to rent a room and Stephanie needed a room to rent. They each thought the other was attractive, yet couldn't seem to explain their feelings (it's called lust, people...more

Based on the title I had a different idea of how this story was going to go. But in the end, I can’t say I’m unhappy with the storyline. It was good with just enough conflict, bad boy like behavior and spiciness to keep...more

Always a Bridesmaid by Cindi Myers was a fun and quick read that entertained me, but didn’t really wow me. I really liked the main protag Stephanie, but I didn't really come to like Mike at all in this book. He seemed so negative and just over the top broody in a not so sexy way. I like brooding characters, but Mike’s personality just came off to be more grumpy and negative than anything else.

There were parts of the book that felt really rushed and random. Towards the end of the story, it felt a...more
This was a really fun, quick read for me! I felt like I started it and then blinked and it was done, but I really enjoyed the romance between Stephanie and Mike. They had great chemistry, and the 'will they or won't they' kept me anxiously waiting for the sparks to start flying!!

I loved that Stephanie was independent and strong, she handled her life like she wanted to be in control and have the final say in her choices. The pain from her past relationships was keeping both her and Mike from movi...more

I have for a very long been a fan of the authors work and this time I loved the "fight" between her characters Stephanie and Mike. The book was a cute little romance about as the blurb suggests two people trying their darnest to not fall for each other, purely due to having love and lost at one stage in both their lives.I really loved the spark in this one !

I loved how the author brought the characters together and added just enough heat in the bedroom...more

This was a cute and easy to read romance. There were some great scenes (view spoiler) and sweet moments. My only issue with this book was its ending. I would have been more satisfied there was just a bit more about how the characters ended up. I think an epilogue would have given a bit of balance - after spending so many pages getting to that point and then....

I really enjoyed this and will be looking forward to re...more
This book was OK. It was about ordinary people living a very ordinary life. The plot was nothing special, very predictable, and no twist or turns. I don't regret reading it but I wouldn't read it again. I liked the characters and it was a quick read which is nice once in a while.

I would recommend read it at the park while kids play or throw it in your purse and pull it out when your in a waiting room, its not a book that requires a lot of concentration.

I give it 3 stars, not a great book but fun...more

"That was the woman I love, running out of my life."

Always A Bridesmaid is yet another book from Entangled's Indulgence line that I have fallen head over heels in love with. Another Entangled Romance that had me swooning and left me breathless.

Stephanie is sick of always being a bridesmaid but never a bride. She wants romance and love, but love doesn't always work out with her. But when she moves into a new house and she meets the gorgeous new landlord/roomm...more

I always like a quick romance book that makes me feel like I was not the only one that was completely inept when it came to a romantic relationship. With Always a Bridesmaid it was Stephanie's emotional scars from her parents divorce and her own bad luck that had me connecting with her immediately.

Stephanie is gun shy about relationships, seeming to make the wrong choices in men and always falling hard for them and then falling apart when the relationships ended. So when she meets her new landlo...more
I always love a good, old-fashioned contemporary romance novel and this one fits the bill perfectly. Take who people who have some serious emotional baggage and bad luck with relationships, Stephanie and Mike, and a tempting situation (living together in the same house), an instant attraction (not the unbelievable kind, but the good, lusty kind) and you’ve got a fun read. I felt like Cindi had just the right amount of fun, light-hearted scenes and intense, serious ones. Nowadays, it’s hard not t...more
Always a Bridesmaid by Cindi Myers was a super cute, fast romance that I did really enjoy. The plot wasn't my favorite thing, but I just loved what each character brought to the story.
The book didn't feel complete to me. I guess right off the bat I was thinking of a little different of a story. With the title Always a Bridesmaid, I was thinking the story would focus more around her friend's wedding, but that was actually a smaller part of the book. There was a bit of romance, but the majority o...more

Always a Bridesmaid was my first novel by Cindi Myers. I enjoyed everything about this novel except for the romance between Stephanie Ludlow and Mike Brubaker. I know crazy right? I really enjoyed Ms. Myers fluid, easy-to-read writing style, but I had trouble believing in the relationship/attraction/connection between Stephanie and Mike. I think it had a lot to do with how wishy-washy they were about their feeling...more

Always a bridesmade is a novel about love and the heartache and "prejudices" it causes

I found the novel very realistic in some parts.I'm sure divorsed parents all over the world worry what their child feels aboyt dating other people or if they are gonna be replaced by a new father or mother.Another thing is how a broken heart affects some people in their future relationships.

Stephenie has given up on love after 2 relationships that didn't worked outMaybe I'm a little exaggerating here.Mike is bi

A cute and sweet story...

Stephanie has had it when it comes to relationships. She's decided her time is better spent going back to school, getting her Masters, gaining experience outside of her dad's company. Between work, and school, she simply has no time for any kind of relationship, whether a fling or long lasting. Truth be told, she doesn't want to bother with going thru the emotions of meeting a guy, getting to know him, figuring out whether things may or may not work...more

I was looking for a fun, loving quick read and this filled the bill nicely. The typical story of two people refusing to be in a relationship and bam find one another and fall in love but I still liked it.
It warmed my heart. For Mike and Stephanie love will always sneak up on you when you least expect it.

There were some great supporting characters in this book which helped make the story. It was a cute read. I really liked the ending of the book

I am torn between 3 and 4 thumbs up but hey since...more
Sweet & fun read, yet full of sadness & pain. About 2 persons once burned by love and are now shy of any future commitment.
Stephanie is wary of relationships after being dumped first by her mom, then 2 boyfriends.
Mike is a divorced father, trying to get to term with his divorce and his ex- wife betrayal. His bitterness & cynisism are just a shield to hide his pain. Very realistic in handling divorce issues, especially when there is a kid involved,

The book was surprisingly good. You felt for both Mike and Stephanie as characters. The chemistry was there from the beginning though both fought it. Mike is a divorced single father and is afraid to get attached to someone again only to loss them. Stephanie is afraid to fully give her heart because of abandonment issues. They are not perfect but they work and the book was good even though it needed an epilogue.
Aera Coltheart
Well this was a not bad, not great story.
I say cute story but I think it is too flat but good. Mike and Stephanie were thrown together then they had attraction but complications about Mike’s priorities so they argue. Eventually they achieve a HEA ending.

I really enjoyed this book. It was fun and flirty with likeable characters that felt like people you would know. I don't usually like romance wih children in them but the relationship between Mike and his son was lovely.
I LOVED this one. The writing flew smoothly, the characters were likeable and their chemistry is sizzling. A wonderful story and a new favourite author :-D
