Oh! How fun and cute is this book?! Definitely one to go on the list to buy for birthday gifts and such. Yes, it’s the epitome boy book, but my daughter loves it too. Have fun with learning alphabetical vocabulary with silly thoughts and rhymes. Study the pages filled with fascinating imagery, both illustrated by what looks like real picture, drawn pictures both computer and hand – it is a combination of many neat and interesting things. Use this as an I Spy book, or an ABC book, any way you try...more
WOW! Dinosaurs AND Construction trucks! This book might have everything a growing little boy needs!
Wonderful rhymes, amazing vocabulary, and TONS of details to pour over! Great book!

If you love dinosaurs, or construction sights,or the alphabet this book is PERFECT for you. The story goes through a day at the construction sight and is illustrated so well it seems almost lifelike on the pages. You can practically feel the dirt and the ground shaking from the backhoe or concrete mixer. Great story for young readers, each page leaves room to discuss so many aspects of construction and the alphabet letters as well as even having some pages full of "what do you see" it...more

A little long-not sure it would keep the interest of young kids (the ones who are still in to cartoon dinosaurs). Also, it bugged me that for N, It says Noodle-head and makes you think that's his name, but his name tag says Nervous Ned. So basically, you have to explain that the book is calling Ned a name. Personally, I don't love books that actually teach kids to tease...

First impression: Yawn...another dinosaur book, another construction book. And then I read it. This book is so good on so many levels. It's a dinosaur book, it's a construction book, it's an alphabet book, it's a seek-and-find book. The illustrations are bright and comical and the rhyming text is not forced at all. The author very cleverly uses words for each letter of the alphabet all in keeping with the theme of construction. I have to admit to becoming obsessed with finding the hidden letters...more
I like a good rhyming book and this was a challenge for my tongue to keep up with. The ABC part of it was so-so. Each stanza/paragraph on each page started with each consecutive letter of the alphabet and the author tried to use several words starting with that letter throughout that one section. But it wasn't very alphabet-y in the sense that it was touted as one. A fun read none-the-less.
Part dinosaur, part construction, part ABC, part seek and find book! Rhyming text is alliterative and makes for a good read aloud. Computer generated artwork makes the illustrations look almost real.
Alliteration! Hidden Objects! Dinosaurs! Trucks! It's all too exciting! This book is a ton of fun!
