Short Synopsis: Get lost in a world filled with monsters, ghosts, and supernatural hunters, all teaming up to give you one crazy night at the prom.

My Thoughts: A fun, entertaining read, with different, unique stories, will leave you curious for more.

Prom Dates to Die For is a collection of paranormal, prom-themed short stories by YA authors Lena Brown, Heather Dearly, Kelly Parra, Jenny Peterson, and Aaron Smith. Each story features a different kind of paranormal, but all the stories compliment each other very well.

My favorite story was definitely the third story, "Every Breath You Take" by Lena Brown. I thought it was the most developed of the stories and it was the one that held my interest the most. Charlie is planning to attend prom lik...more

I love short stories for so many reasons. For one, they are short and to the point so you don't get all of the filler and boring parts that most books have. And it's a really short read if you are just looking to fill a small amount of time or you can read a collection of stories like in 'Prom Dates to Die for' to fill more time. They are really great for any situation. The only thing that I don't like is that the stories are over far too fast! For the short stories in 'Prom Dates to Die for,' I...more

The anthology begins with “Darkness Becomes Him” by Kelly Parra, which is probably the shortest and the weakest tale. The concept was great, but because the story was so brief there was little time for readers to get to know or connect with the characters. The onus of interesting the readers was then left mostly on the action…and there was a lot of action! Personally, I think this story could be an exciting climatic scene in a novel, and I would like to see what Parra can do writing a longer wor...more

Recently, I've had the opportunity to read short stories, really good ones I might add. I read On The Day I Died, written by Candace Fleming. It was an interesting book, an one of the reason was that it uses a character as a listener. Through this character, the author channels the individual stories to the reader.
Prom Dates To Die For has an other approach.

Prom Dates To Die For is an anthology of YA stories that uses a rite of passage familiar to all of us as a setting: The Prom. These stories...more

I really liked this anthology. It was the perfect length and was filled with really good stories. My order for most liked to least liked would be 1. Darkness Become Him by Kelly Parra, 2. Tonight, You're Mine by Jenny Peterson, 3. Every Breath You Take By Lena Brown, 4. A Kiss on the Threshold by Aaron Smith, and 5. The Bone Flower by Heather Dearly. Really glad i had the opportunity to read this, because it was a great little break from reading full length novels. Definitely worth a read =D

When Buzz Books publisher contacted me to ask if I was interested in reviewing a YA Anthology and Paranormal Romance centering around prom? Hell yeah! I jumped at the chance! Prom and paranormal? Umm perfect combination!

I didn't really know what to expect so I went into this not knowing a thing. I did have quite a number of problems about it, but overall it was an enjoyable read.

Because it's a short anthology, each story couldn't develop the...more
