A fun collection about ghouls, ghosts, zombies, and an advice column featuring dead letters from the lovelorn! You'll want to steer clear of Bubba's Cafe after you find out what they serve, and if you teach Group X, you'll be leery of job postings for Certified Zombie Instructors. Quiver, quake and chuckle at these quirky tales of the paranormal.

Delightfully fraught with humor and the macabre, Sullivan's FRIED ZOMBIE DEE-LIGHT masterfully mixes the mundane with the fantastic in her tales of the strange and ghoulish.

This collection of flash fiction also includes some poetry and song lyrics. All tell their own story and leave you with that ah-ha moment after reading them. It's a good book for reading parties because the mini-stories pack a big punch!

This book isn’t a single story but rather a collection of various types of writing. There are little short stories, one that’s a bit longer, a monologue, a poem and song lyrics. What they have in common for all their brevity is a sense of tightness, that exactly the right amount of story is in front of you. I never left one story or vignette thinking that there should have been more to it to make it better.

I have to confess though, the humor here is totally me. I’m pretty sure the author is tire...more

A collection of horrific and humorous stories and songs about zombies and other ghouls by a Southern author who has a gift for bringing atmosphere into her work (and a gift for song-writing, which I have experienced first-hand). My favorites were "The Girl Next Door" and the last story "Finding the Way Home," which is as sensitive as "The Girl Next Door" is horrific and darkly humorous.

Quibble: This book is too short (I read it in an hour). I wanted more stories. Now I have to go and buy the au...more

This is a really-fast read, and as such, my review will be pretty short on this totally-appropriate-for-Halloween read!

Susan Sullivan's Fried Zombie Dee-light is the perfect read for anyone who's looking for a little quirky, a little spooky and a lot of laughter.

From short stories, to songs, to "Zumba Zombies", to an "other-wordly" advice column, Sullivan has this incredible knack for wit and humor. Each segment is sure to bring you to smile and feel like one big kid.

5 out of 5 stars!

Another amusing anthology from Susan Sullivan. I could just see "Zombie Hunting with my Mother" as a Night Gallery or Tales of the Crypt episode. I'm a big fan of humor in all genres, but I thought that the last story ("Finding the Way Home") with its rather serious tone, was the most intriguing. This sort of stylistic flexibility is the mark of a good writer. Looking forward to her upcoming paranormal mystery novels.
